Following the retirement of their long-serving Chief Executive, our client is now seeking a values-led, forward-thinking leader to guide the organisation into its next chapter. The Chief Executive will oversee the delivery of the organisation’s strategy, ensure strong governance, and continue to build relationships both locally and nationally while maintaining best in class service delivery.

To be successful, you will bring

• Proven senior leadership experience in a complex, multi-channel organisation, ideally within the advice or wider charitable sector

• A track record of strategic planning and operational delivery with the ability to lead and inspire diverse teams of staff and volunteers

• Strong financial acumen with experience managing large, multi-funder budgets

• Experience of successful income generation and fundraising through contracts, grants or partnerships

• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to advocate for service users at local and national levels

Legal Casework Manager (Helpline)

Are you aware of the significant health inequalities that people with a learning disability face in the UK and levels of avoidable deaths? Are you passionate about access to justice for the families of people with a learning disability who have died avoidably in acute healthcare settings?

We’re looking for a dedicated Legal Casework Manager (Helpline) to join our committed information and advice team covering England at Mencap on a full time (37.5 hours per week) fixed term contract for 2 years.

Here at Mencap we are a leading charity providing advice, support and opportunities to people with a learning disability across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The role will lead on supporting families to get answers about how their loved ones died and change across the healthcare system to prevent future deaths. 

The role is flexible in terms of location, which can include home working, using Mencap’s office bases, such as in London and Peterborough, and will include some national travel, for example to inquest hearings or to meet families when needed. 

About the Role

As Legal Casework Manager (Helpline), you’ll provide advice, support, and casework assistance to families facing complex legal issues, specifically relating to people with a learning disability who have died in avoidable circumstances across England, mainly within the healthcare system. Working within a small, supportive team, you’ll manage your own caseload, contribute to the body of knowledge about avoidable deaths and help empower families to understand and exercise their rights and get answers through the inquest and other investigations processes. 

Key Responsibilities

· Provide clear, accurate, and timely legal advice and casework support for families.

· Work closely with clients, many of whom will be distressed, ensuring a sensitive, trauma informed and professional approach

· Maintain up-to-date case records and comply with quality and regulatory standards

· Support strategic litigation and advocacy efforts where appropriate

· Liaise with other charities, coroners, legal professionals, and agencies to support families to get answers

· Work towards a world where people with a learning disability are no more at risk of death in hospitals, than any other person

· Manage a team of caseworkers working across different areas of advice.

About You

We’re looking for someone:

· Legally qualified in the UK or similar jurisdiction with at least 3 years post qualification, working in either clinical negligence, inquests or inquiries. Or similar number of years working as a senior case worker in an inquest/clinical negligence/inquiries advice role.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a non-judgemental and empathetic approach

· Ability to manage a varied workload, prioritise effectively, and work independently

· Ability to travel effectively to support families at inquests, and to attend meetings

· A clear understanding of the importance of professional boundaries and in maintaining their emotional wellbeing in distressing situations

· Strong management skills and ability to supervise, coach and mentor colleagues. 

· Experience of accurately recording client case records and use of CRM/client database system

About the role

To work with colleagues in the Tutor Engagement team to ensure the strategic priorities of Tutor recruitment and retention are delivered effectively.

The person:

This successful candidate will have a substantial track record in providing operational and administrative support in a busy office environment, ideally but not essentially in the charity or not-for-profit sector. Highly organised with excellent attention to detail, this person will be able to multi-task and prioritise various pieces of work across the business. About The Felix Project 

The Felix Project is London’s largest food redistribution charity. Our vision is a London where good food is never wasted, and no one goes hungry. We aim to reduce the negative impact food waste has on the environment by working with the food industry to rescue high quality surplus produce, that would otherwise have gone to waste. This food is sorted at one of our four depots or turned into meals in Felix’s Kitchen. It is then distributed to over 1,200 community organisations, such as food banks, homeless shelters and primary schools, all of whom are working within communities across London to feed people experiencing hunger.

Purpose of the Job  

We are looking for the Production Supervisor to play a key role in our brand-new Production team under project ‘Unit 17’.  

You will be the on the ground senior leading the teams in the daily tasks to be completed, working as the connection between the management team and the team members and volunteers. Working hands on within all the production lines, leading by example and supporting the team across the operation. 

This is an operational role, mainly based on the production floor but with a range of reporting and administrative tasks involved. You will report into the Production Manager and work closely with them on the day to day running of the unit as well as supporting covering their duties when they are away.

You will be supervising and supporting the teams to deliver on each day’s production targets as well as ensuring that all rules and HACCAP plans are followed correctly, providing real time feedback to the management team on any issues and resolutions taken.

More about Unit 17 

In early/mid 2025, we opened our second production facility as part of the Coronation Food Project. The Coronation Food Project was set up to celebrate His Majesty King Charles 75th birthday and seeks to bridge the gap between food waste and food need across the UK. 

We will be taking in surplus food from our supplier network and creating a range of products which have added value and extended shelf life.  A particular focus will be seasonal produce gluts, using ingredients which we may otherwise not be able to redistribute.  

Using four key processes (re-packaging, jarring / preserving, dehydrating and freezing), we will create a range of products which will be used in these three main ways:  

• Distributed to our partner community organisations as ‘ready to eat’ or ‘easy to use’ products for their service users - always delicious, achieving relevant safety standards and meeting the needs of the eventual end user. 

• Used in the East London Central Production Unit (CPU) to support creating Felix Ready Meals.  

• Used in Unit 17 in the creation of other products (for example frozen produce later used to make jarred sauces or preserves) 

A typical day at Unit 17 will likely include planning new product/s based on the ingredients available that day, agreeing relevant food safety requirements and working in line with this, working with the production team and volunteers to prepare, produce and package delicious products, planning for future products and project work.  

Duties and Responsibilities 

Your normal duties and responsibilities will be set out in your job description. However, the charity may require you to perform other duties from time to time.  

• Day to day supervision of the operations team, with a hands-on supportive approach 

• Liaising closely with the management team on the targets and goals for each production cycle

• Support in the delivery of all required H&S, Food Safety and HACCAP requirements and reporting on these areas

• Working with all internal stake holders across the departments at the Felix Project 

• Feeding into the reporting and delivery of the units stated KPI’s and production goals

• Ensuring that the equipment is always being used productively and correctly

• Taking a leading role in the training of the staff and volunteer teams

• Responsible for the operational record keeping and due diligence paperwork being used correctly

• Reporting any operational issues or challenges faced in a timely and open manner 

• Ensuring all team members are completing their duties across the operation, including the production space, office spaces, urban farm and any other relevant areas.

This is a brand new and unique operation and requires someone with experience and an openness to creating and delivering on a new project. Someone who believes in the mission we have as an organisation and wants to put their experience and knowledge into a mission driven project.  We believe in an upbeat and enjoyable working environment but one that is driven to meet our targets and strategic goals.

Whilst previous experience and knowledge within food production is essential, we are looking for someone who wants to grow into the role and be able to develop themselves and their knowledge whilst we develop this new operation.

• Experience within a food production operation or similar

• Comfortable with all relevant aspects of Health & Safety and Food Safety procedures in a food manufacturing environment 

• Previous experience working to and reporting on HACCAP plans

• Comfortable in working in a fast changing and growing work environment.

Sessional Community Support Worker
Salary: £12.21 per hour
Location: Various projects across Tyne & Wear, Northumberland, County Durham & Tees Valley

About the role

Working in our Land and Communities team, you will engage with targeted participants who are involved with specific projects. In a diverse and busy environment, you will be supporting our Community Project Managers with the delivery of projects across the North East.

Examples of projects may include:

• Holiday Activities Programme, providing activities for children during school holidays (Easter, Summer, and Christmas)
• Green Links, regular dementia friendly project
• Active Play, a weekly children’s activity programme

We are seeking a dynamic Senior Engagement Manager to lead the development and management of strategic partnerships with private sector and philanthropic foundations, supporting Cambridge International Education's global mission. This is a key opportunity to drive high-value, long-term collaborations that advance research, innovation, and impactful education initiatives, working alongside our Head of Partnerships in the Education Futures directorate and with teams across International Education.

About the role 

As Senior Engagement Manager, you'll shape and drive strategies to attract external partnerships and funding in support of Cambridge International Education's global mission. You'll manage high-value, long-term relationships with private sector organisations and philanthropic foundations, acting as a trusted ambassador for Cambridge. Your role includes identifying and prioritising partnership opportunities, co-creating compelling proposals with internal teams to deliver innovative education initiatives aligned with funding priorities and partner interests. You'll also monitor global funding trends, provide strategic advice to senior colleagues and help evolve partnership processes to ensure continuous improvement. 

About you 

You will be degree-qualified or possess equivalent related experience and bring a deep understanding of donor motivations, funding structures, and strategic partnership development, especially within philanthropy, the private sector, or international development. You are an excellent communicator and an adept relationship manager, skilled at influencing and aligning diverse stakeholders around shared goals. You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment to deliver results and you possess strong commercial acumen and a creative approach to problem-solving. Experience of securing multi-year funding, presenting proposals, and negotiating contracts with high-value partners is essential. Experience with international education is desirable.
