Location: We are currently hybrid working: our team is largely home-based with some in-person attendance and meetings expected at our central hot-desking location in Old Street, London.

Hours: This role is part-time (21 hours per week).

About the Role
We are looking for someone warm and approachable, skilled at quickly building trust and rapport with young people and professionals alike. You’ll bring strong and up to date knowledge and understanding of the key issues affecting children in care and young care leavers. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in the day-to-day delivery of Become’s Care Advice Service, including the Care Advice Line. You’ll offer proactive advice and 1:1 support to care-experienced children and young people, as well as adults and professionals supporting them, ensuring they understand their rights and entitlements, and are supported to access them. The role requires a detailed knowledge of rights and entitlements for care experienced young people, and of current legislation and local authority practice.
This role will be part of the Services department, but will work closely with colleagues in the Policy, Campaigns and Communications department and across the organisation to support the Care Advice Service. We’re looking for someone who is motivated, empathetic, and passionate about making a lasting difference in the lives of care-experienced young people.

Interviews will have two parts:
- A session with young people;
- A panel interview with Become staff.
Interviews may be held virtually using a video calling app (Microsoft Teams or Zoom) or in person at our location in Central London. If access to technology/WiFi is difficult for you, please contact us so we can assist in making suitable arrangements.
Become also wants to ensure fairness in all of our interviews so all successful shortlisted candidates will be sent the interview questions in advance.
Interviews will take place:
- Young people’s panel: Tuesday 11th March
- Staff panel: Wednesday 12th March
