Job Title: Engagement Worker

Location: Bedford

Salary: £24,500

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday hours can vary between 08:00 - 16:00, 09:00 - 17:00 and 12:00 - 20:00 on a rota basis which will include varying hours dependent on service needs. You may also be required to work bank holidays if the rota falls on this day.

About the role

We're looking for an Engagement Worker to join our residential service based in Bedford which is a 19-bed residential service close to Bedford Town Centre offering a safe, peaceful and supportive living environment for individuals wishing to engage with support to assist them in increasing their levels of independence. You will support with various responsibilities within the service, with a focus on providing social contact and company to help enhance quality of life, personal safety, health and security, sustainment of tenancy and improving financial independence. You will support our residents to gain the relevant skills and knowledge to gain greater independence, supporting them back into the community. 

The role is varied, with each day being different, depending on service and resident needs. You may need to run and engage in activities, complete support sessions, arrange external activities, in house activities, and support with attending appointments.

A new role, the Fianacial Accountant will support the Head of Finance in managing GWT’s day to day finances as well as providing routine financial advice to the head office staff.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role is a lead for ensuring financial compliance within UK head office including Fundraising and Gurkha Welfare Advice Centre (GWAC) and will ensure the effective financial management of UK activity through to trial balance and ensuring accuracy of monthly reconciliations.

This is a hands-on financial accounting role needing a practical, problem solving approach and has the opportunity to add real value to the team.

Key duties and responsibilities

This role’s primary responsibilities will be as follows:

• Lead the month-end processes for UK activity (head office, Fundraising and GWAC) to ensure that deadlines are met through:
  • overseeing the timely and accurate financial transaction processing in the finance system;
  • reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts and resolving discrepancies in a prompt manner;
  • ensuring the accurate and timely reconciliation of all bank accounts; and,
  • end to end reconciliation of income through the fundraising CRM to finance systems (including Department, Restriction and Trading).
     
• Be responsible for the timely payment of invoices by the Finance Assistant.
   
• Draft monthly finance data dashboard and quarterly management accounts including variance analysis, liaising with budget holders as required, and assist in preparing annual budgets for UK activity.
   
• Lead for financial compliance in the UK including raising awareness through events such as the Charity Fraud Awareness Week, and reviewing all financial policies on annual basis.
   
• Manage and support two part-time team members through training, professional coaching and development.
   
• Deputise for the Head of Finance on matters related to financial management of UK operations including representing at the senior management meetings.
   
• Support the Head of Finance in the year-end process and preparation of financial documents for annual audit.
   
• Proactively seek opportunities for continuous improvement within financial systems and accounting processes and controls.

Key skills, qualifications and knowledge, and personal attributes

• A passed finalist or qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with proven experience in financial operations and reporting.

Community Hospice at Home Senior Staff Nurse/Paramedic 

£37,338 - £44,962 per annum (pro rata) 

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (part time hours considered)

The role of Community Hospice at Home Senior Staff Nurse/Paramedic is to provide high quality specialist palliative nursing care, skills, advice and support to patients, carers and those important to the patient. This role will support the delivery of planned and unplanned care across Rennie Grove Peace Hospice.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Actively participate in the development of the organisations planned and unplanned community Hospice at Home model of care.
• To work as part of the multidisciplinary team to provide a high standard of individualised patient / family care and support.
• To be responsible for those patients allocated on a daily basis.
• To ensure that excellent standards of support and clinical practice and care are achieved.
• Deliver specialist palliative nursing care to patients requiring planned and unplanned care. This will include a multi-disciplinary approach for our higher acuity patients with daily virtual and in-person reviews in their homes.
• To work with wider Hospice team as well as system partners to support delivery of care and enable patients to remain in their preferred place of care.
• Improve patient outcomes and experience by providing physical and emotional support to patients, coordinating their care services.
• Participate in activities such as audits and case reviews in order to improve the Hospice at Home service.
• Acting as a our client's ambassador within the community.
• Work across their geographical area (as required) to support safe and effective service delivery.

· Podcast – lead on the production and delivery the charity’s podcast, working with external podcast producer and collaborating with colleagues across Marcomms to promote the content. Build business case and plans to develop and grow podcast.  

· Photography – work with the Multimedia Content Producer to maintain the image library, ensuring that consent is current and stories/photography are continually uploaded.

· Family stories – work closely with the Stories Manager to source storytellers for upcoming content activity, collaborating closely with families on commissioned projects to ensure stories are shared in the most effective way.

· Relationship building and engagement – work with external video agencies and freelancers, to brief in, project manage, and deliver content projects that aren’t being produced in house.

· Line manage Multimedia Content Producer – effectively line manage and develop the Multimedia Content Producer including regular 1-2-1 meetings and annual appraisals. Identify learning and development opportunities including training, coaching and skills sharing.

Person Specification:

· Experience planning and implementing content strategies.

· Strong experience of managing video production agencies and other suppliers, from quotation/brief through to delivery.

· Excellent proficiency and understanding of content creation, including video production and editing (Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro X).

· Strong knowledge of digital requirements such as video sharing formats across channels.

About The Role

Your role will be to oversee the delivery of the service, making sure the programme meets its aim, including being the first point of contact for the multi - agency Reach Out team and line managing the Complex Lives Navigator. Responsible for reporting in collaboration with the Data Officer, you will provide reports to the quarterly Board and Governance meetings.

Identifying opportunities for systems change will also be a key part of the role, including building relationships with agencies and people with lived experience to understand issues and barriers to accessing treatment, using data and feeding back insight where needed and making sure lessons learnt inform future service delivery.

About You

You have experience of developing relationships and building trust with both individuals and partner organisations and excellent skills in communication and problem-solving.  With demonstrable experience of performance reporting, chairing and facilitating meetings and workshops, you are able to establish joint working protocols and referral pathways with partner organisations.

Experience of analysing data and developing insights to monitor and evaluate the service, along with experience of safeguarding frameworks, line management and experience and understanding of drug and alcohol services.

About The Team

The Reach Out Service supports people who have substance use issues, taking the support to them either in their accommodation or where they are rough sleeping. The service supports people with their current goals, which can include areas such as starting prescription medication, group work, continued substance use and abstinence.

You will be part of the Dorset Hub which has offices in Bournemouth and Weymouth and will link in with other Shelter teams, including the community advice and legal teams. We offer specialist housing advice and legal representation as well as housing workshops and lived experience activities in the community.

You will be a member of the community management team reporting to the General Manager and managing the Service Manager / Care & Support Manager, to lead, manage and develop the community locally and regionally. 

You will hold the Registered Manager status and all its responsibilities with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for maintaining the service registration and working to the expected regulations and standards.

Main responsibilities

• Lead the team in developing and providing creative and responsive support packages to the people we support that embrace and promote a positive behaviour approach.
• Ensure that support is provided in an effective, efficient, and sustainable way resulting in positive outcomes in line with individual support plans. 
• Lead the development and maintenance of effective working relationships with people we support, their relatives and advocates. 
• Recruit, induct, develop and manage the performance of colleagues to ensure a cohesive, high performing team, providing a consistent service whilst achieving performance targets and service standard.
• Ensure staff are supported through regular supervision, observations and appraisals in line with policy.
• Build effective working relationships with local authorities, CQC and other inspection bodies,
• Work with the Head of Supported Living to ensure the service is managed within the financial budget approved each financial year and all expenditure is approved, invoiced and processed in a timely way.
• Ensure that daily records are kept correctly, that support plans, risk assessments for the people being supported are up to date, within required scope, allocated budget and designed to deliver an individualised package which meets the needs of the people being supported and increases a life of opportunity.
• Report on service performance on a monthly basis in relation to your areas of responsibility in line the Trust’s Quality Assurance standards and compliance requirements and take corrective action where under performance arises. 
• Take responsibility for the support, care and provision of the service in line with all statutory and legislative standards required by the Care Quality Commission
• Support the positive behaviour support approach across all areas of the service so it is an integrated way of working and planning and delivering services.
• Ensure compliance in respect of fire, COSHH, and all health and safety in the community and in all activities.
• Maintain a working relationship with the Pal’s team to ensure that houses are maintained in accordance with all current legislation and regulatory requirements and the need to maintain a pleasant, homely environment for the people we support
• Foster innovation that leads to improved services
• Develop, mentor and coach staff to ensure their personal development needs are met and managed

What you’ll bring to the role:  

• Leadership in Health and Social Care level 5 or equivalent for ‘Register Manager Status’
• Adult Social care sector experience (services for people with learning disabilities, autism and or mental ill health): including the legal context, regulator’s and commissioner’s expectations and funding streams
• Be able to deliver a high quality of service for people they support by understanding the needs of individuals
• Be able to manage a staff team which is engaged and motivated towards the achievement of the service development goals
• Ensures all staff members understand their responsibilities and perform to acceptable standards, with any performance issues being managed swiftly and appropriately
• People management skills that include coaching and developing staff

We are recruiting to an exciting position that plays a central role in the work of OCVA. As Volunteering Development Officer you will be responsible for promoting and enabling a culture of volunteering across Oxfordshire. You will administer and promote the website Oxfordshire Volunteers, helping individuals to find the right opportunity for them and supporting organisations to recruit and retain volunteers.

This role combines home and office working with getting out and about across Oxfordshire, meeting organisations and volunteers face to face, understanding their needs and celebrating and sharing their successes. We work in partnership across the county and developing meaningful relationships with other groups and organisations is an important part of how you will work in this role.

Working with the OCVA team you will contribute to our programme of training and support for the sector, working with our Deputy CEO to develop and deliver identified training and support needs that relate to volunteering. You will facilitate network meetings across the county and proactively seek opportunities to raise the profile of volunteering initiatives through a wide range of routes from social media through to local news coverage.
