Head of Fundraising and Development

Connect: North Korea is a fast-growing charity supporting North Korean escapees to build new lives after experiences of systemic discrimination, poverty, and trauma. 

Our organisational income has grown consistently year on year since we registered  in 2018. We now have a series of multi-year grants in place ensuring that 42% of our income for 2026 is already secured. But we are ambitious. We want to do more for our community, so we are looking for a new, dynamic Head of Fundraising and Development to lead and deliver income generation as we scale our work in the UK and globally.

This is a rare opportunity to lead a fundraising strategy and plan across all major income streams—trusts and foundations, individual giving, corporate partnerships, and major donors. This role is an exciting mixture of leadership complemented by  day-to-day delivery. You’ll work closely with the CEO and across programme teams to map out our annual fundraising plan, craft compelling cases for support, develop funder relationships, and increase our funding base by 20% in 2026. 

Position: Head of Fundraising and Development

Responsible to: Chief Executive Officer

Based at: Our offices in New Malden KT3 with some remote/home working.  We will be as flexible as possible to accommodate the right candidate.

Contract: Permanent. Full-time (35 hours per week). Flexible hours/days possible whilst respecting core hours of 10am-4pm

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 + 5% eligible pension and gym membership

Benefits: 28 days holidays exclusive of public holidays. We also offer 2 additional days on top of this – 1 recharge day where the whole charity closes and 1 day in the week of a staff member’s birthday.

Diversity our income base by increasing our unrestricted income, ensure organisational sustainability by securing multi-year grants and growing individual and corporate donations and grow our annual income by identifying and building relationships with new donor

Work closely with Chief Executive to:

• Develop our five year organisational fundraising strategy and fundraising action plan for 2026. 

• Draft fundraising targets and KPIs based on current income levels and our delivery plans for 2026

• Lead and coordinate all CNK fundraising activity from Trusts and Foundations, corporate donations and individual giving including identifying new funding sources, drafting applications, delivering individual giving campaigns and communicating with supporters.

• Recruit and support a team of volunteers who help with communications, social media content and community fundraising. 

• Build relationships with major donors, corporates, charitable Trusts and Foundations and other institutional funders

• Attend networking events and meetings with potential donors

• Ensure all fundraising meets the Code of Fundraising Practice, safeguarding standards, GDPR compliant and CNK’s values;

• Report quarterly on fundraising progress to Chief Executive and Board of Trustees

About the role

You will be at the forefront of establishing a centrally-located PMO to embed project excellence in a mission-driven environment, operating both strategically and hands on across the King’s Fund. Your responsibilities will include developing and embedding project management standards and governance frameworks, establishing a performance framework to understand the impact of our projects, and providing oversight and assurance for key projects and programmes.

You will engage with senior leaders and staff leading and coordinators to embed a culture of effective project delivery, lead change management and continuous improvement efforts, and act as a trusted advisor on project and programme management. Additionally, you may matrix-manage project staff or line manage a small team as the PMO grows, ensuring effective use of project management tools and systems through a cross-organisation community of practice.

As an established PMO Manager, you will bring your experience in setting up PMOs and use your knowledge of a diverse range of project and programme management methodologies. You will be enthusiastic about making a difference, and are able to bring people with you in change. You will be an excellent communicator, with experience of facilitation, and influencing skills, and proven experience in managing change are essential.

Westway Trust is looking for a dedicated and reliable experienced Cleaning Operative to provide supervised access to the new public toilets located on Acklam Road, next to Portobello Market. The primary responsibility of the Cleaning Operative will be to ensure the facility and its surroundings are maintained to a high standard, checked regularly and kept clean, secure and inviting to users at all times. The secondary part to this role is to publicise the Trust’s activities that take place on the Trust’s 23 acres of land in North Kensington by distributing information and leaflets to the members of the public who use or pass by the toilet facilities and the surrounding area. 

The role requires someone with a good physical stamina, who is friendly and a confident communicator with an energetic approach to work, and will be fully committed to achieving a consistent standard of cleanliness and appearance throughout the facility.

This is a part-time role of up to 30 hours per week. Working patterns will be discussed at the interview stage.

Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

• To open and lock the facility and return the key to the Trust’s offices.
• Effectively and efficiently manage the access control system.

You’ll also need excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong IT abilities, and a commitment to compliance with fundraising regulations and GDPR. The role is based at our head office in Tunbridge Wells (moving to Lamberhurst in 2026). About the role

Our People Business Partners work in collaboration with senior leaders and managers across the charity to drive and implement positive change. The successful candidate will partner with a designated directorate and will need to demonstrate strong professional and interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships with a variety of key stakeholders, providing expert people management advice and guidance across all people related matters.

About you

To be successful, you must be a solutions-focused experienced Human Resources Generalist with the ability to demonstrate effective business partnering, stakeholder management, coaching and influencing expertise to deliver trustworthy advice and support services to a diverse group of people; helping us to develop and embed a positive, inclusive and high performing workplace culture.  

If your knowledge, skills and experience include the following then we’d love to hear from you:

• Experience in delivering high quality people management advice and support including effectively managing complex employee relations cases and organisational change programmes.

We are looking for a Community Fundraising Assistant to join our dynamic team and help power the incredible work of East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA). This is your chance to be at the heart of our community fundraising efforts – supporting our amazing volunteers, event organisers, and fundraisers to raise vital funds that help save lives.

What You will Be Doing:

• Being the friendly face (and voice!) of EAAA for our community fundraisers and volunteers.
• Coordinating event logistics, from kit delivery to stock management and ensuring every event runs smoothly.
• Supporting third-party events across the region, helping with planning, admin, and CRM updates.
• Stewardship of a selected amount of non-attended event supporters who have chosen EAAA as their charity and community campaigns like our Christmas and Challenge Badge initiatives.
• Managing contactless giving platforms (Givestar & Collectin) and helping supporters get set up.
• Lending a hand with event set-up and pack-down on occasion (yes, sometimes that means early mornings or weekends, but we will give you time back!).
• Support with the administration around collection boxes and the annual tidy up plans and collaborating with our volunteers and Supporter Engagement team to execute this.
• Support the administration around our In Memory supporters doing flagship events such as Treks & Only the Brave etc in creating mail merges and sending out In Memory collateral.

What You will Bring:

• Experience in admin, fundraising, or customer service (charity experience is a bonus!).
• Excellent communication skills – confident on the phone, in person, and in writing.
• Super-organised with a keen eye for detail and the ability to juggle multiple tasks.
• A proactive, self-motivated approach to hybrid working.
• Comfortable with manual handling and happy to get stuck in with event kit.
• Flexibility to attend occasional out-of-hours events.
• A full driving licence and access to a vehicle, you will be out and about across East Anglia.
• A positive, can-do attitude and a genuine passion for helping others.

I am urgently seeking an experienced Interim Reward and Employee Relations Manager on a 12-month fixed term salaried contract for my renowned client in the civil service / culture sector, based in London 2 days per week with 3 days remote. The role will pay a salary of £42,179 to £48,000 per year depending upon experience and you will be required to work on Mondays and Fridays to provide cover for other staff in the team.

There will be a requirement to travel to their other office in Yorkshire now and again (expenses will be paid).

Reporting to the Head of Pay, Policy & People Relations, the ideal candidate will be available immediately or at short notice and :-

- Have experience of Reward and Reward Projects, including pay modelling and equal pay ad gender pay gap modelling etc

- Have significant Employee Relations experience preferably in the Civil Service, Local Government on NHS sectors dealing with complex casework

- Have experience of writing and updating policy

- Have experience of working in a heavily unionised environment and negotiating / consulting with Trade Unions on the above

The successful candidate will require a DBS check to be carried out before being able to start.
