About BVSC

Birmingham Voluntary Service Council (BVSC) works with Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) organisations, alongside public and private sector partners, to make a positive difference to communities across Birmingham.

BVSC delivers a range of projects supporting Birmingham residents to access home energy and benefits advice. Working in partnership with local organisations, these projects help residents access the support they need while strengthening collaboration across the city.

As the lead partner for the BrumEnergy Consortium, BVSC is responsible for the effective management and coordination of the partnership. We’re looking for an organised, proactive and relationship-focused BrumEnergy Consortium Projects Manager to oversee the day-to-day delivery of these important projects.

About the Role

You’ll work closely with BVSC colleagues, consortium members and external partners to ensure projects are delivered effectively, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. You’ll play a key role in coordinating activities, monitoring progress, managing risks and supporting the achievement of positive outcomes for Birmingham residents.

This is a varied role combining project management, partnership working, communications, financial oversight and funding development. You’ll help ensure everyone is working towards shared objectives, with the right processes, information and support in place.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination and Management

·       Coordinate the day-to-day delivery of BrumEnergy Consortium projects, ensuring activities, deadlines, milestones and             targets remain on track.

·       Organise and facilitate meetings, events and partnership activities, prepare agendas and minutes, and maintain                       accurate project plans, records and documentation.

·       Monitor referrals, performance indicators (KPIs), risks and progress, ensuring reporting requirements and funder                    expectations are met.

·       Provide effective project administration and support BVSC’s internal project board and team.

Partnership Working and Communications

·       Develop and coordinate internal BVSC and consortium communications, supporting effective information sharing and            collaboration.

·       Build positive working relationships with consortium members, suppliers, funders and stakeholders across the                        Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise, public and private sectors.

·       Work with BVSC’s Strategic Communications Lead, Marketing and Communications Administrator and consortium                  partners to develop and deliver the project communications strategy.

·       Coordinate stakeholder engagement and support effective communication across the partnership.

Financial and Contract Management

·       Oversee project budgets, financial reporting, agreements and payment processes.

·       Liaise with BVSC’s Finance Team, funders, consortium members and suppliers to support effective financial and                    contract management.

·       Monitor project expenditure and support delivery within agreed budgets and contractual requirements.

Research, Learning and Team Support

·       Coordinate project research, data, learning and information-sharing activities, working with BVSC’s Research Team                and relevant stakeholders.

·       Support the recruitment and engagement of project staff, consultants and suppliers where required, including the                    development of job descriptions and contracts.

·       Help capture and share learning to support continuous improvement and effective project delivery.

Funding and Business Development

·       Work with BVSC’s Strategic Communications Lead, consortium members and Head of Strategic Partnerships to                    coordinate funding applications and bids.

·       Contribute to the development of bid content and help identify opportunities to sustain and develop project activity.

Why Join BVSC?

This is an opportunity to play a key role in collaborative projects that support Birmingham residents and bring organisations together to tackle challenges around home energy and access to benefits advice.

You’ll be part of a team that values commitment, inclusion, integrity and collaboration, where building strong partnerships and making a meaningful difference to local communities are at the heart of what we do.

If you’re an organised project manager who enjoys bringing people together, solving problems and turning plans into action, we’d love to hear from you!
