About the role:

Join Single Homeless Project (SHP) as a Senior Outreach Worker and become a driving force in our dynamic response to homelessness. We are seeking a proactive, highly organised and purpose-driven Programme Manager to lead the global delivery of the School Enterprise Challenge — our flagship entrepreneurship education programme. This pivotal role blends programme oversight, marketing, operations, partnership management, MEL (monitoring, evaluation and learning), and school engagement to ensure that thousands of schools around the world are supported to launch and grow student-led businesses.

ROLE SUMMARY 

It is an exciting time to join the team, with income growing year on year and an increasing awareness of our brand through activities such as the recent Radio 4 Charity Appeal. We have ambitious plans and the Head of Fundraising will make a significant contribution to future growth; you will manage the Fundraising and Events team with oversight of income generation from various sources including major donors, individuals, trusts & foundations and a portfolio of events.

The role will suit innovative individuals with experience of fundraising from major donors and at least one of the other specified income streams, and event planning or project management. 

You will represent upReach externally, acting as an ambassador for our work and building strategic relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders. You will be accountable for income targets, developing the fundraising strategy and identifying new opportunities.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Head of Fundraising will contribute to upReach's mission by meeting financial targets, recognising when to make the fundraising ‘ask’ and leading the annual budget process. You will use clear, creative written communication to produce convincing cases for support, represent the charity at relevant networking events, work closely with the upReach Development Board and act as an ambassador for the organisation.

Reporting to the Director of Income Generation and External Engagement you will manage three direct reports and support individuals participating in the Future Charity Leaders Programme (upReach’s graduate scheme). You will work closely with  the Head of Partnerships, CEO, Programmes and Finance teams and other colleagues across the income generating and external engagement team.

The core responsibilities include: 

Leadership and strategy 

• Lead fundraising and philanthropy to realise financial targets (2025/26: £2.45m).

• Securing 5 and 6 figure gifts. 

• Inspire staff and volunteers to excel and achieve, champion the upReach values.

• Commit to the annual appraisal process and develop stretching, SMART OKRs (objectives and key results) to meet our strategic goals. 

• Deputise for the Director in their absence and play an key role in the Income Generation & External Engagement Leadership Team.

• Lead the strategic and operational planning process for the functional areas of responsibility and ensure the involvement of relevant stakeholders. 

• Keep abreast of developments, changes in trends, new techniques and legislation. 

• Ensure planned activity is delivered in compliance with relevant charity law, other legislation, best practice and corporate policy.

• Act as a senior sounding board to ensure strategic decisions regarding donors and funders resonate with our objectives and mission.

• Contribute to strategic thinking including risk management and mitigation.

• Collate and present timely monthly management reports for each income stream.

• Lead the annual budget and financial forecasting processes to facilitate reporting and  strategic-decision making.

Working with stakeholders (internal and external) 

• Collaborate with colleagues to identify and secure all various income generating and profile raising opportunities, ensuring maximum impact and contribution from funders. 

• Lead, champion and model a culture of outstanding donor stewardship and supporter care; including best practice and behaviour. 

• Develop and foster effective relationships with key external contacts at all levels, e.g. donors, supporters, suppliers. 

• Make the fundraising ‘ask’ as and when appropriate, or support others to do so.

• Respond promptly to requests for information and action from supporters.

• Report and disseminate the key issues to emerge from supporter feedback. 

• Manage the complaints procedures for the department and conduct full investigation of all complaints received by the department.

Developing, maintaining systems and procedures 

• Determine and manage the operating systems needed to deliver activity and enable effective donor, supporter and volunteer relationship management. 

• Effectively develop the donor journey.

• Ensure records in the CRM are up to date.

• Conduct analysis of data from across functions responsible for, drawing conclusions, making recommendations to the Director. 

• Ensure the management of systems and processes comply with the organisation’s data protection obligations, charity law and other legal requirements.

People Management and Team Working

• Recruit and lead the Fundraising team, rotatees and volunteers as required.

• Ensure upReach promotes a high performance culture and professional integrity.

• Continue to develop the skills and knowledge of you and your team to ensure you are up-to-date with changing regulation and fundraising best practices.

• Lead and model the implementation of business improvement and people development initiatives including training and rotations.

• Collaborate with colleagues across the department and organisation.

Major Donors and Individuals

• Develop and implement fundraising strategies to grow income, including an annual appeal. 

• Work with the CEO, nurture relationships with donors including high net worth individuals maintaining the highest level of donor care.

• Research, identify and engage prospective donors to secure 5 and 6 figure gifts.

• Lead the team to grow and develop the burgeoning major donor portfolio. 

• Work with the Alumni Team to identify opportunities to sustainably grow the individual giving pipeline, including beneficiaries. 

• Develop a legacies strategy and oversee delivery of awareness campaigns.

Events

• Lead the team on the delivery of a sector-leading events portfolio, to include income-generating events, and the Student Social Mobility Awards (SSMA’s).

• Engage, steward and motivate key stakeholders including the Development Board, Patrons, potential event committee members and other high value volunteers to grow our network and deliver successful fundraising events.

Trusts, Foundations & Corporates

• Oversight of Trusts, Foundation & Corporate fundraising strategy.

• Work with the Senior Fundraising Manager to identify and build relationships with Companies, Trusts and Foundations which are mission and/or programme aligned.

• Collaborate with the Head of Partnerships to build strategic relationships with companies that grow philanthropic and commercial income. 

• Support the acquisition of new, multi-year philanthropic funders and existing donors.

Other

• Regular out of office work may be required in order that the organisation is able to deliver on its commitments to its stakeholders

• Some UK travel will be required from time to time

The postholder will undertake data analysis, data visualisation, and produce reports to develop and administer systems and processes that aid effective data intelligence gathering. They will also deliver projects and support a forward plan for arthritis and musculoskeletal health intelligence; contribute and work effectively within a dynamic team; and support, nurture and grow relationships with external and internal partners to further Versus Arthritis’ data leadership role in the musculoskeletal (MSK) sector.

About the role

• Lead on establishing and maintaining a ‘single source of the truth’ on arthritis and musculoskeletal statistics and data within the charity and beyond. This includes our annual State of MSK Health statistics report and other statistics publications.
• Support on the development and delivery of a pipeline of insightful MSK and health data analysis and quantitative research, to better understand the UK population with arthritis and MSK conditions and to inform the direction of Versus Arthritis’ ambitions, strategy, policy and services work.
• Work with others, particularly colleagues in UK Advocacy and Health Intelligence, to influence improved quality, extent and use of musculoskeletal health data by statutory bodies across the four UK nations, including Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID), National Health Service (NHS), Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), nationally and locally to improve musculoskeletal health nationally.
• Manage and maintain our health intelligence website, intranet and Sharepoint pages and data enquiries inbox, ensuring they are up to date, reflect the latest developments of the health intelligence function in the charity and that queries are answered on time.

About you

If your knowledge, skills and experience include the following then we’d love to hear from you:

• Demonstrate sound knowledge of epidemiological research methods including experience of using multiple sets of health-related data and information systems, and large-scale data sets for policy, quality improvement or research purposes.
• Ability to interpret, present and communicate complex data in accessible lay terms, including producing data-rich reports for a range of technical and generalist audiences.
• Ability to analyse complex issues where material is conflicting and drawn from multiple sources.

The Degrees Initiative is a UK-based NGO that builds the capacity of developing countries to evaluate solar radiation modification (SRM), a controversial proposal for reducing some impacts of climate change by reflecting sunlight away from the Earth. Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust is a grassroots movement working for nature’s recovery and to bring people closer to nature.

We are seeking an Assistant Coastal Birds Project Monitoring Officer to join our cause.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Bird Aware Solent team, hosted by Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust within the Ecology Team. Bird Aware Solent aims to raise awareness of overwintering coastal birds within the three Solent Special Protection Areas and reduce disturbance to coastal birds through influencing the behaviour of visitors, and through projects that aim to mitigate for increased visitor and recreational pressures in the Solent.

A number of mitigation projects have been proposed and implemented, requiring monitoring to understand their effectiveness as well as increase our knowledge of the efficacy of different site-based mitigation strategies. This role will assist on the design and implementation of mitigation monitoring for the projects, by surveying and assessing the impacts on coastal birds and visitor behaviour.

Monitoring and research work is essential to ensuring conservation decision-making is based on sound evidence. This role therefore requires experience in coastal bird ecology, ecological survey techniques and data analysis.

We’re looking for a proactive and community-minded Project Manager to help us deliver a range of active travel and sustainable transport projects.

You’ll lead on the coordination of community based cycle confidence training, manage project logistics and monitoring, and support people across Nottingham to adopt greener ways of moving around. The RideWise team works virtually but there will be some regular travel to visit community partners, take part in face to face team meetings and prepare for events.

Location: This is a remote UK-based role with regular travel to CST’s national and regional events, mainly in Birmingham and London. Candidates within reasonable travel distance to these locations are preferred.

The Professional Communities Manager leads the development, content curation, and operational delivery of CST’s 11 Professional Communities. These networks, events, and forums are a core benefit of CST membership and are provided free of charge to members.

This is a proactive, member-focused role that blends operational excellence with strategic content oversight. The postholder will work directly with community chairs, subject experts, community supporters, CST platinum partners and members to ensure that all communities are vibrant, professionally hosted, and deliver high-quality, relevant content.

The role also plays a key part in ensuring a joined-up approach to content across CST’s full range of activities, working closely with the professional learning and conference teams and partnerships to ensure alignment and maximise value for members.

Key responsibilities

 Strategic Development and Continuous Improvement

• Develop and implement strategic plans to strengthen the value, engagement, and content of CST Professional Communities.
• Set clear objectives and KPIs to monitor success and drive continuous improvement of community services.
• Regularly evaluate community activity, identifying ways to increase engagement, relevance, and impact for members.

Community Content Curation and Management

• Oversee the quality, consistency, and relevance of content across all 11 Professional Communities, ensuring alignment with member priorities and organisational objectives.
• Work in partnership with community chairs, subject experts, community supporters and CST’s platinum partnerships to proactively commission, curate, and quality-assure community content (e.g., webinars, blogs, resources, discussions).

Community Engagement and Facilitation

 Stakeholder Relationships

This is an exciting opportunity to shape a new senior role within our organisation. The Interim Head of Research and Campaigns will lead our Research function and advocacy efforts, ensuring that evidence-based insights drive our campaigns, policy work, and public engagement.

Recently kicking off our new ‘Creating Positive Change Together’ strategy, coproduced by over 130 staff, volunteers, clients and partners, Groundswell has ambitious plans around influencing more change and amplifying voices to promote healthier lives and a better future for anyone who has experienced homelessness. This role directly aligns with these strategic plans, to refine and use innovative participatory research centring lived experience, share and amplify insight from people with experience of homelessness, and increase our campaigning activities to change systems and break down the barriers that stand in people’s way to a healthier life and more hopeful future.

This role has been created on an interim basis to assess its impact and effectiveness, with a key focus on reviewing the priorities, progression and support of our Research Team and making recommendations for the future regarding this new role. The role will sit within the wider Participation, Progression and Creating Change team.

Background

Lepra is dedicated to addressing leprosy and lymphatic filariasis (LF) and their consequences through direct support, advocacy, and the promotion of inclusive communities. We work in Bangladesh and in India, through our sister organisation, LEPRA Society. We work in partnership with people affected by leprosy and LF to improve detection, ensure access to treatment and care, and promote inclusion and wellbeing. Last year we finalised our new Global Strategy for 2024-30, which will guide us in our efforts to accelerate progress towards global targets for leprosy and LF, and towards our vision of a world free from leprosy and LF.

Our Global Strategy marks a significant evolution in our organisational direction, introducing innovative approaches and renewed priorities. This includes our first-ever global Theory of Change (ToC), our most comprehensive Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) framework to date, a Research and Innovation strategy, and a dedicated Advocacy sub-strategy to guide our influencing efforts.

Within this context, the Programmes Officer will play a vital role in supporting the work of the Programmes and Advocacy team. This is a dynamic and multifaceted position that spans the areas of research, implementation, advocacy, and MEAL. Job Purpose

Programme Support (40%)

• Assist the Senior Programme Manager (SPM) in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of leprosy and LF related projects.

Healthwatch City of London are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced communications and engagement officer to ensure that the patient and service users voice is at the heart of Health and Social Care decision making.  The successful candidate will drive engagement with the local community, creating visibility of our work to residents and partners. You will also be responsible for the management of our volunteer team and the exciting projects they undertake.

This part time role (4 days a week) is within a busy small team representing the residents, workers and students of the City of London. Healthwatch City of London are the independent champion for people who use health and social care services. We’re here to make sure that those running services, put people at the heart of care. Our sole purpose is to understand the needs, experiences and concerns of people who use health and social care services, and to speak out on their behalf. We also work to get services right for the future.

You’ll also be representing our organisation at network meetings across all the various Health and Social Care providers, charity partners and patient groups across North East London.

Role purpose

Working closely with the General Manager and Trustees you will develop and deliver the communications and engagement strategy for the organisation, making sure the patients voice is at the heart of everything we do.
