Independent Age is the national charity focused on improving the lives of people facing financial hardship in later life. We believe no one should face financial hardship in later life.

Our Helpline and expert advisers offer free, practical support to older people without enough money to live on. Through our grants programme, we support local organisations working with older people across the UK.  

We use the knowledge and insight gained from our support services and partnerships to highlight the issues experienced by older people in poverty and campaign for change.

Responsibilities and Person Specification:

The Head of Governance will lead the charity’s small Governance and Risk, and Facilities teams. They are responsible for governance, company secretarial, risk management, health and safety, safeguarding, information governance, procurement and contracts management, business continuity planning, and management of facilities and the charity's office and small portfolio of other properties.

The role would suit someone who enjoys a broad remit and working with colleagues across the charity, who can think around issues and implement pragmatic solutions. As the role has a wide remit, the ability to learn quickly will be key. Candidates will need senior level experience of charity governance, risk management and safeguarding, ideally working with adults at risk. Applicants will need to be good communicators, verbally and in writing.

This role is 0.5FTE (17.5 hours per week). There is some flexibility around how the hours can be worked, but hours would normally be worked across 2.5 days a week, with attendance required at specific times for management and trustee meetings. Office attendance will be required on average 2 days a week for meetings and due to responsibility for office management.

• Manage and innovate the content on Lab Tests Online (our patient-facing site) including supporting the Editor with editorial and review processes. 
• Liaise with editorial boards to ensure our digital content remains insightful and  relevant. 
• Commission, edit, and deliver high-quality content in partnership with editors, contributors, and topic experts. 
• Support the Publications and Communications Committee to ensure consistent quality and alignment with organisational goals.

Job Title: Executive Administrator

About the role

We're looking for an Executive Administrator to join our central office team, reporting to the Director of Finance and Resource. You will be able to organise and manage events and away days, as well as manage our booking systems and general running. You will have proven minute taking experience, able to write minutes for meetings in an organised manner, and manage our shared online platforms for ease of access, and usability. You will have:

• Experience in high level administration duties, ideally within a similar role, supporting senior leadership teams and boards with all areas of administration

Childhood First enables children and young people to recover from early life abuse and relational trauma, to enjoy life and to achieve their potential. We do this through the provision of specialist therapeutic residential care and treatment in communities in the South East of England. We are also a UKCP registered training organisation which provides in-house clinical training to our clinical staff.

Purpose

The Office and IT manager will play a key role in delivering and maintaining the London office and facilities, and the IT services for the whole organisation alongside our retained IT consultants.

This appointment comes at the time of our planned transition to Office 365 and our move to a new central London office.

• Demonstrable experience of delivering multi-stakeholder project management ideally including IT change and a property move.

We are looking for someone who is able to encourage others in the important relationship between generous giving and mission and can help churches across the Diocese to develop and demonstrate a culture of generosity and how to align their resources with the Diocese’s vision and mission of their church.

Some of the main responsibilities of the Generous Giving Enabler are:

The post holder will work closely with the Discipleship and Mission team, Director of Finance, clergy and lay leaders to develop and implement a comprehensive Giving Strategy which

• encourages confident teaching and preaching on Christian generosity and giving and supports our churches in developing their congregational giving.
• communicates the positive impact and practical costs of providing mission and ministry across the diocese, and the way in which this is funded through the parish share
• support parishes in accessing other sources of funding, including charitable funding and legacy giving and by providing access to training and resources.
• makes effective use of statistical information on parish giving and finance, and trends in diocesan and national giving

What we are looking for in a Generous Giving Enabler:

To fulfil this crucial role, you must have a committed Christian faith and be passionate about helping Christians understand and live out the call to be generous. Public speaking skills and the ability to lead training courses are also essential as is the ability to understand Church finances and familiarity with fundraising and income generation.

Working closely with the Director of Property Services, and collaboratively with a variety of teams across St Mungo’s you will focus on key responsibilities:

• Act as the voice of the user, ensuring the system meets operational needs.
• Utilise expertise in property services and social housing to identify and navigate challenges.

About You
