Your new role
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will lead and coordinate the financial planning process, owning the annual financial plan. Role overview
This role is central to our mission to support sustainable living, reduce food waste, tackle local food insecurity, and foster meaningful community connections. As a key part of delivering the vision set out in our National Lottery-funded RenewALL Hub proposal, you will ensure our food provision goes beyond meeting immediate needs to build inclusion, wellbeing, and pathways into wider community support.
Your primary responsibility will be to secure regular donations of surplus food by developing and maintaining strong partnerships with local supermarkets, shops, restaurants, and national redistribution organisations like the Newham Food Alliance, Felix Project, and Feeding Britain.
You will manage the effective use of this food across our services, including the foodbank, food pantry, warm meals programme, and cooking classes. This will involve careful stock management, menu planning, and coordinating with lead staff to ensure our food provision meets Newham’s environmental, health, and cultural needs. A key part of this will be overseeing the successful operation and promotion of our expanded food pantry.
Coordinating volunteers will be essential, particularly in managing and expanding our cargo bike fleet for surplus food collection and redistribution. You will also explore opportunities to monetise these sustainable transport services. To further engage the community, you will organise and host quarterly workshops on reducing food waste and eating on a budget.
Ultimately, you will play a vital role in coordinating our surplus food operations, managing volunteer teams, and strengthening partnerships to ensure our food services are impactful, sustainable, and community-led.
Key Responsibilities
Food Supply & Partnerships
- Secure regular surplus food donations from local supermarkets, shops, restaurants, farms, and redistribution networks (e.g., FareShare, Felix Project, Newham Food Alliance).
- Build strong partnerships with local and national food aid providers to maximise supply, reduce duplication, and ensure continuity of stock.
- Ensure culturally appropriate, nutritious food options are consistently available.
Food Service Delivery
- Lead the operational management of the RenewALL Food Pantry, ensuring it is welcoming, respectful, and centred on dignity and choice.

- Maximise the effective use of volunteers in the operation of the pantry.

Background Information

Purpose of the role
The Community Centre Manager will play a key role in the leadership and smooth running of the Community Centre managing change, growth and performance as agreed with the Board of Trustees.
Working closely with the trustees, employees, consultants, contractors, volunteers and other local organisations, the Manager will work to ensure the Community Centre is a vibrant, well-managed facility that operates within a sustainable framework for the benefit of local residents and organisations. Principle duties and responsibilities
Management of the Community Centre
Manage the operations of the Community Centre and its staff and the development and delivery of activities and facilities in line with the business and strategic plan. Ensure compliance with employment law and that we follow good practice with regard to HR.
Contribute to the planning, development, implementation and delivery of the business and strategic plan and present regular progress updates to the Board.
Oversee the maintenance of the building - including building maintenance and improvement programmes.
Lead on and contribute to identifying and apply for funding from local and national organisations. Role will also lead on ensuring aims are met and reporting of outcomes to funding organisation.
Manage and monitor all aspects of risk assessments, health and safety and security as required by regulation or good practice including, in conjunction with the Trustees, the review and updating of policies and procedure.

Lead on General Data Protection Regulation and Safeguarding, maintaining records to ensure the charity fulfils all its legal, statutory and regulatory responsibilities.

About this key role
As our A&E Hospital Intervention Caseworker, you will assess referred clients and produce support and risk management plans based on your assessments, promoting inter-agency collaboration in the assessment and planning process, and including appropriate agencies in the delivery of the service. You will also develop and maintain relationships with partner agencies, including hospital, police, local authorities and other voluntary organisations, plus to liaise closely with other St Giles teams with reference to referrals, avoiding duplication.
We will count on you to deliver a holistic support service, working solo or with colleagues as the situation dictates, where you will provide a practical service that will include social and housing support, accompanying to appointments, ETE options, benefits work and debt advice. Closing cases efficiently and positively, identifying a referral route for the client that will identify agencies that can be used for on-going support, and promoting the value of lifestyle changes to the client group are also essential duties.
What we are looking for
- Personal experience of the criminal justice system, lived experience of the issues facing this client group and/or experience of working with vulnerable young people and/or families
- Substantial experience of providing support, advice and advocacy and communicating effectively the needs of clients to other professionals
- Substantial experience of assessing the needs of young people at risk of significant harm
- Experience of using support plans, to enable people to successfully access support services
- Substantial experience of engaging successfully with ‘challenging’ young people
- To have a relevant qualification to a good standard or be working towards one
- Excellent IT, interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

Experience, Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of relevant professional experience in marketing and/or communications roles, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
- Experience working internationally or with diverse international stakeholders a plus.
- Excellent knowledge of digital marketing tools and techniques, including social media platforms, email marketing software, post schedulers and web analysis tools
- Be well versed in paid and organic media, content marketing, lead generation, optimization and interpreting data to improve performance
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail
- An artistic eye and experience with graphic design, eg. Canva or Adobe Photoshop
