About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for you to join our nursing team.

You’ll act as a specialist resource for Breast Cancer Now, clients, healthcare professionals and the wider public on the subject of breast health, screening, risk, benign breast disease and primary breast cancer. This includes providing information and support to clients through our helpline and Ask Our Nurse (AON) written enquiry service.

You’ll also work closely with other teams across the charity and externally on our breast awareness messaging and breast screening in addition to breast health and breast cancer.

About you

You will be a registered general nurse, with a relevant qualification in cancer or breast cancer nursing, either stand-alone or as part of degree studies.

You’ll have knowledge of breast cancer having worked directly with breast cancer patients or in breast screening. You’ll have the ability to show tact and discretion when dealing with sensitive and confidential information.

With your excellent communication skills you will be able to present both formal and informal teaching to a variety or audiences.

Scotty’s Little Soldiers is a UK-based charity dedicated to supporting military children and young people (0 to 25 years) who have experienced the death of a parent who served in the British Armed Forces. This role will be accountable for:

Supporting the event owner in the successful planning and execution of all events across the charity, including the Families, Supporter and Operations Teams at Scotty's. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT), you will support the senior palliative care social worker to ensure that the service provides high standards of support, to patients, their families, carers, loved ones and communities,  You will help to influence and enhance best practice in palliative and end-of-life care involving both internal and external professional providers and agencies.  You will be well-versed in Safeguarding, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS), have a thorough understanding of the Mental Capacity Act, and other relevant legislative frameworks.

As part of the social team, you will help to provide the assessments and applications for both Social and Fast Track CHC packages of Care to ensure that the highest standards of care and support to our patients and loved ones are provided at the right time.

You will be a registered social worker with Social Work England and hold a full clean driving licence.  You will be a sound communicator and will be authentic, open, honest, transparent, and have a track record of working inclusively with a genuine appreciation of the value of diversity.

Mind in Enfield and Barnet is a fast-growing charity in North London providing much needed therapy, wellbeing support and advocacy services to people with mental health problems. 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Community Care Coordinators to support some of our most vulnerable users of emergency services. These roles have been developed to further support our service users alongside our statutory partners at North Middlesex NHS Foundation Trust Emergency Department, to increase their wellbeing, confidence, social integration, and independence.

The National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) is seeking a proactive and skilled Media Officer to join our Communications and Public Affairs team. This is a newly created role, offering the opportunity to help shape and strengthen NFCC’s voice in the national conversation around fire and rescue services.

Reporting into the Media and External Affairs Manager, you will play a central role in growing our media presence and positioning NFCC as the go-to source for journalists covering national fire and rescue issues. You will help to ensure our messages are clear, timely, and authoritative across all platforms.

Join us and help ensure that fire and rescue services have a strong, consistent voice on the national stage.

Key responsibilities:

Serve as a point of contact for incoming media enquiries.

Draft high-quality, publication-ready communications content – including press releases, news articles, opinion pieces and other engaging content. 

Support NFCC’s campaigns and policy initiatives by securing media coverage and developing strong relationships with journalists and editors.

Take ownership of key communications tools and systems, including media monitoring and audit of coverage. 

Act as the lead Comms officer on at least one area of NFCC’s work in partnership with the relevant NFCC teams and lead officers (but will also work on a wide range of our issues and areas).

Participate in an out-of-hours communications rota as part of NFCC’s communication support function (with some out of hours support – see job description for more information). 

What we are looking for:

Experience in a media, journalism or communications role. 

Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce accurate, compelling content under pressure. 

Confidence in handling media enquiries and building positive relationships with the press. 

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. 

A collaborative approach, with experience working across teams and engaging with senior stakeholders. 

A good understanding of the UK media landscape and wider external environment.

Working with us:

NFCC is a fully remote organisation, and all staff work from home. This role will involve some travel for stakeholder meetings, events, conferences, training sessions and team away days, for which travel expenses are paid.

We are looking for a Support Coordinator within our Manchester Personalisation mental health recovery services in Northenden.

This post is an ideal opportunity to become involved in dynamic and varied recovery services that give real job satisfaction, whilst utilising your experience in a coordinator position. You will have excellent line management support from the CQC registered manager.

A minimum of three years of experience in providing mental health support, and possession of a relevant professional qualification, is essential.

The role will involve practical assistance with daily living, while developing a wide range of activities that promote wellbeing. You will work flexible shifts on a rota to meet individual needs in a personalised way.  The rota will be set four weeks in advance.

The service has been running for over 20 years, providing high level support to males with established diagnoses and enduring mental health issues & some dual diagnosis.  The role is varied and enjoyable. This is a great opportunity for a progressing manager and leader.

£35,500 per annum
