The Role

The Finance Manager will lead the day-to-day financial operations of the charity, including budgeting, reporting, payroll, and financial governance. The postholder will also line manage the Finance Officer, ensuring effective support for transactional finance tasks and smooth day-to-day processes.

Working closely with the CEO and Board of Trustees, you will help ensure sound financial management and contribute to strong internal controls and compliance.

This is a part-time role, ideal for a finance professional looking to work in a values-driven and flexible environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting:

• Support the delivery of the Strategic Plan
• Prepare management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and financial reports for the CEO and Trustees
• Lead the annual budgeting process and monitor performance against budgets
• Oversee bank reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and ensure accurate financial data entry
• Manage the year-end process and liaise with external auditors
• Maintain and improve financial procedures in line with best practice and charity regulations
• Analyse financial performance data and present management information to non-finance managers in a transparent and clear way.

Line Management:

• Provide day-to-day line management, support and supervision to the Finance Officer
• Delegate and oversee routine financial tasks, ensuring accuracy and timely completion
• Support the professional development of the Finance Officer and foster a collaborative team culture

Payroll & Pension:

• Process monthly payroll and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations
• Oversee pension contributions and reporting
• Conduct payroll checks and audits to ensure data integrity

Bids and Grants:

• Provide detailed financial input and support with bids and grants for external funding
• Oversee the disbursement of grants to carers ensuring there are robust processes and procedures in place

Governance & Compliance:

• Support the CEO and Trustees in financial governance and risk management
• Maintain and update the organisational risk register
• Maintain up-to-date financial policies and ensure regulatory compliance
• Prepare financial papers for Board meetings and Finance Committee, and attend as required
• Manage insurance coverage and oversee financial aspects of contracts and leases

Organisational Management:

• As a member of the Senior Management Team, you will be expected to work flexibly to meet the need of the organisation, including deputising for the CEO / COO as required

Key Responsibilities:

Job title: Immediate Support and Debrief Manager 

Reports to: Head of Bereavement Services

Location: Flexible - Mainly home working with regular travel to areas of service delivery, and regular travel to 2wish Head Office in South Wales.

Objective:

2wish exists to provide support to anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under.

Aims:

• Ensure every Emergency Department and Critical Care unit has a suitable bereavement suite
• Ensure that bereavement boxes are available at each of these hospitals
• Ensure that immediate bereavement support is available for all affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide a professional counselling service and other therapies for those affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide support to individuals who witness the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide support and training to professionals from any sector who may be affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• To advocate and campaign on behalf of suddenly bereaved families

2wish Cymru and 2wish:

2wish has been established since 2012 and has since grown from strength to strength. During this time, we have worked tirelessly to embed our service and ensure that the offer of support is made at the point of death.

We offer an immediate, consistent, high-quality and compassionate service to all individuals affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under. We work in partnership with professionals who refer into the charity on behalf of families, so they don’t have to trawl through the internet for an organisation who may, or may not, be able to support. We provide immediate, and ongoing, support and are here for as long as our families need us.

We were founded as a Welsh organisation providing immediate casework support, as well as ongoing aftercare services including counselling, alternative therapies, play therapy, support groups, support events and a respite cottage. In January 2024, we expanded into ‘phase one’ England, namely Cheshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Somerset. And in July 2025 we expanded into ‘phase two’ England, namely Merseyside, Devon and Cornwall, Wiltshire, Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

Context of role:

The Immediate Support and Debrief Manager will lead the development, coordination, and delivery of our specialist immediate support service for families, professionals and individuals affected by sudden bereavement. You will be responsible for ensuring that our services are trauma-informed, responsive and delivered to a consistently high standard supporting the complex and individual needs of those who have experienced profound loss.

This role will oversee the existing immediate support service delivered across Wales and the expansion phases across England. You will manage a team of fifteen individuals who are a mixture of full and part time roles. This is a unique and hugely rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of suddenly bereaved individuals across our communities.

You will work closely with the Children and Young People Service Manager and the Therapies Assessor and Service Manager to provide a holistic, joined up service to all who access our service.

Main duties:

• To manage the bereavement service including the operational delivery of immediate support and debriefs, ensuring the service is delivered consistently, responsively and to a high standard
• To oversee the database of 2wish Champions within hospitals and police forces across Wales and the two phases of England 
• Lead upon, develop and maintain safeguarding practices and procedures in line with national guidelines and attend the bi-monthly internal Safeguarding Committee meetings.
• To oversee the delivery and develop training delivered to professional partners
• Oversee and manage a database of stakeholder contacts and families ensuring that Data Protection legislation and GDPR guidelines are implemented and adhered to
• To work closely with the Head of Bereavement Services to ensure delivery and growth of services
• Attend bereavement forums and other relevant meetings as required by, or in place of, the Head of Bereavement Services
• To be able to provide outstanding immediate emotional support and advice to families and those we support as required

 Management:

• To lead, motivate and line manage the immediate support team responsible for delivering our immediate support and debrief service
• Manage a diverse team, organise regular team meetings and set realistic but challenging objectives to further the work of the charity
• To carry our monthly supervisions and bi-annual appraisals with the Immediate Support Coordinators
• To carry out monthly case reviews with the Immediate Support team 
• To produce weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to evidence activity and impact
• To develop and oversee a training programme for the team including mandatory and varied subject matter

 General:

• To be responsible for organising own work agenda, time management and administration
• To show respect and sensitivity for the cultural and religious beliefs of families
• To undertake learning opportunities and seek them out for the team
• To adhere to all company policies and procedures including Safeguarding, Confidentiality, Health and Safety and Lone Working; and to be proactive in implementing new safe working practices as appropriate
• To attend weekend and evening community events in support of the charity as necessary
• Participate as and when required in team meetings and one-to-one meetings, and undertake, as appropriate, courses/training/other developmental activities, which is relevant to the role
• Contribute on the social media platforms maintained by 2wish

It is the nature of the work that tasks and responsibilities are in may circumstances unpredictable and varied. All employees are therefore expected to work in a flexible way and tasks, which are not specifically covered in their job description may have to be undertaken.

You will be subject to performance review, which will incorporate a review of the above duties and performance over the period.

Salary: Starting salary of £32,000 per annum, with the opportunity for an increase through the annual appraisal structure.

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Normal office hours are 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday, although alternative hours may be worked with line manager agreement. Work outside office hours may sometimes be necessary and will be compensated for by time off in lieu.

Annual leave: 28 days plus bank holidays. Annual leave steadily increases after five years of service. Annual leave and statutory holidays are calculated on a pro rata basis where applicable.

Pension: 2wish operate a contributory pension scheme. 2wish will auto-enrol you into the scheme in accordance with it's auto-enrolment obligations. Full details of the scheme will be provided to you once you are enrolled, including the minimum level of contributions that you will be required to make during your membership (current contributions - employer 3% and employee 5%).

Mileage: A fixed rate allowance is payable for agreed mileage undertaken on 2wish business in a private vehicle, over and above your usual journey to your workplace/s.

As Adult Services Team Leader, you will lead and inspire a team of Gambling Harms Practitioners and Outreach & Engagement Practitioners to deliver life changing support to individuals who are at risk of or experiencing gambling-related harms.

We are a small organisation with a social purpose, so we are looking for someone who is excited about the job description, but who is also interested in learning more about all aspects of running an education start-up and keen to support Vocabulous’ strategy and growth beyond their job role.  

Position: Operations and Engagement Coordinator 
Location: York and Harrogate (the business is based in York until December 2025 then moves to Harrogate in January 2026) 

Flexibility: At least 2 days in the office and the rest either remote or in the office as preferred 
Hours: 30 hours a week across 4-5 days 
Salary: £21,600 (£27,000 FTE) per annum 
Contract: Fixed Term Contract until Summer 2026, with possibility of extension dependent on funding

Key responsibilities include: 

Administration & Operations 

• Provide general administrative support across the business. 

• Manage and maintain our CRM system, ensuring data is accurate and up to date. 

• Assist with scheduling school training and catch-up calls, document preparation, and email correspondence. 

• Content development for the new KS2 and KS3 curricula, including example sentence writing. 

• Create and format new resources such as worksheets and certificates. 

• Upload new content to the Vocabulous website. 

Customer Engagement & Support 

• Respond to teacher enquiries by email or video call. 

• Help onboard new schools, including scheduling and leading basic online training sessions. 

• Monitor schools’ site usage and provide support to teachers via email. 

• Monitor teacher feedback and flag issues or opportunities for improvement. 

• Proactively recruit new schools to use Vocabulous and secure commitments from returning schools. 

Marketing & Communications 

• Support the creation and scheduling of social media content. 

• Assist with email campaigns, newsletters, and website updates. 

• Contribute ideas for content, customer stories, and events that build our community. 

• Attend selected education conferences to manage our exhibition stand. 

Skills & Experience 

Essential 

• Strong organisational and administrative skills and attention to detail. 

• Clear and confident communicator (written and verbal) with a professional, friendly manner. 

• Comfortable learning new technology tools (CRM, social media platforms, etc.). 

• Proactive, resourceful and able to work independently in a small team. 

• Interest in education and technology. 

• Ability to work at least 2 days a week in the office in Harrogate.

Desirable 

• Experience with CRM systems or customer support. 

• Experience delivering basic online training or onboarding. 

• Familiarity with tools such as Pipedrive, Canva or MailerLite. 

• Experience creating or managing social media content.

We’re entering an exciting phase of growth and are looking for a strategic and entrepreneurial fundraiser to take our income generation to the next level.

About the role

We are seeking a Head of Fundraising to develop and drive Iswe’s income generation strategy and grow a high-performing fundraising team.

This role is ideal for someone experienced and confident enough to lead the function with minimal oversight, but still eager to be hands-on. You will bring a good understanding of the climate, democracy, and systems change funding landscape, ideally along with existing funder relationships. You’ll be creative and entrepreneurial, with the ability to craft compelling cases for support, develop new income streams, and build the operational systems required to raise and manage funds effectively.

Your goal will be to secure £10 million over the next 3–5 years, and position Iswe for long-term financial sustainability.

You will report to the CEO and will manage a Senior Fundraising Officer, with the opportunity to expand the team over time (e.g. an individual giving lead and a high-net-worth donor lead).

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Develop and deliver an ambitious fundraising strategy aligned with Iswe’s organisational goals, including project-specific income generation and unrestricted funding. 

• Identify and pursue diverse fundraising opportunities, with a focus on: 

  • Grant fundraising

  • Institutional partnerships

  • Innovative pooled funding mechanisms

  • Individual giving and public campaigns

  • High-net-worth individuals

  • Revenue-generating partnerships and services

• Provide regular reporting and strategic insights, including risks, opportunities, and performance against targets.

• Work with the CEO to transition key donor relationships smoothly and represent Iswe externally at high-level events and convenings (e.g. COP, Bonn, Davos, New York Climate Week).

Fundraising Execution

• Lead the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of funders, donors, and strategic partners.

• Write and oversee the development of high-quality grant proposals, donor reports, and communications.

• Coordinate funding strategies for individual projects, and support project teams to embed fundraising into their planning and delivery.

• Develop digital strategies and campaigns to support public fundraising and individual giving.

• Build systems to attract and steward high net worth individuals, including prospecting, relationship management, and donor communications.

• Explore and advance business revenue streams such as consultancy offers, corporate sponsorships, or platform-based services.

Team Leadership

• Line-manage a Senior Fundraising Officer, supporting their professional development and accountability.

• Recruit, onboard and manage future team members as needed (e.g. an Individual Giving Manager and High Net Worth Fundraising Lead).

• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and bottom-up leadership within the fundraising team and across the organisation.

Operational Excellence

• Design and implement systems for tracking fundraising performance and measuring ROI.
• Develop internal processes for grant management and donor engagement.
• Ensure compliance with fundraising ethics, legal standards, and data protection regulations.
• Build the fundraising literacy and capability of project and leadership teams across the organisation.

Person Specification

Essential

• Substantial fundraising experience (minimum 5+ years), with a proven track record of raising six to seven-figure income across grantmaking, institutional funders, or major donors.

• Strong strategic thinking, planning, and execution skills — with the ability to own a multi-year fundraising roadmap and deliver results with minimal supervision.

• Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering fundraising strategies across multiple income streams (e.g. grants, high net worth individuals, public fundraising, or partnerships).

• Excellent writing and communication skills, including the ability to craft compelling funding proposals and reports.

• Working knowledge of individual giving strategies, including use of digital tools for donor acquisition and retention.

• Working knowledge of GDPR.

• Understanding of how to build systems and culture to support high net worth individual engagement and income generation.

• Experience speaking and writing knowledgeably about deliberative democracy and multilateralism.

• Strong understanding of the global fundraising landscape in climate, democracy, and systems change — and ideally some well-established funder relationships.

• Ability to build strong internal and external relationships and to work across multiple teams and time zones.

• A collaborative, self-reflective leadership style — grounded in awareness of your own leadership strengths and blind spots, and committed to building the agency of others.

• Experience working effectively in a remote environment and enthusiasm for this mode of working.

• Experience developing pooled funding models or engaging with multilateral funding initiatives.
