Who are we?

St. John's is a non-maintained specialist provision, working with autistic people, the majority of whom also have learning disabilities. Some of our learners have co-occurring conditions such as epilepsy, hearing or visual impairments, or mental health needs. We also support autistic learners who have an additional profile of Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) syndrome. We have a team built up of support workers, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, nurses, PBS practitioners, assistant psychologists, and more, to support us in our holistic approach to development.

Each learner's curriculum is shaped by their individual strengths, interests, and challenges. St. John's is awarded with Autism Accreditation by the National Autistic Society (NAS). We support our learners to develop their skills in the NAS's four focus areas of:

• Difference in social communication and interaction
• Self-reliance and problem-solving
• Sensory
• Emotional Well-being

Headway Gloucestershire was established in 1987 and since then we have been working to make a positive difference to the lives of adults with an acquired brain injury. We provide specialist recovery support and respite through our centre based Day Service and outreach support through our Community Links Service. We provide group and one to one sessions to support individuals.

Open every weekday, Headway House is at the heart of Headway Gloucestershire.  We provide a structured programme of activities for individuals to choose from. Our programme is designed to support participants to work toward their own recovery goals and gain insight into strategies that support individuals to manage the physical, cognitive, sensory, emotional and behavioural outcomes which can occur following an acquired brain injury. Peer group sessions enable us to harness the recovery benefits of peer contact and support.

We have been successful in receiving three years of funding to deliver services in up to five locations in Gloucestershire and are recruiting a part-time Support Worker to support the delivery of our Hubs – to meet and support the recovery needs of individuals with acquired brain injury in their community. The Support Worker will be responsible for the delivery of group sessions designed to support individuals with acquired brain injury work toward their recovery goals. Responsibilities include: -

• To deliver professional, impartial, enabling and outcome focused support to Individuals with acquired brain injury. To provide support for clients with complex needs to support their recovery, wellbeing, independence and autonomy.
• Supporting the Hub Lead to schedule, develop and deliver sessions.
• Provide Key-working to individuals: - to use an enabling approach to support individuals to plan and work toward their recovery goals ensuring that planned activities are delivered and support is tailored to meet the needs of each individual survivor to maximise our contribution to their recovery.
• Providing cover at Headway House where required.
• Ensure that safeguarding training and understanding is kept current and that individuals are safeguarded.

Primarily carrying out the role in community Hubs, you will work to clearly established quality standards. You will be joining a motivated and dynamic team of staff and volunteers working to making a difference to individuals with acquired brain injury in Gloucestershire.

Manchester Mind has worked with Greater Manchester Mental Health Trust for a number of years to deliver roles within Community Mental Health Teams in Manchester. Social Workers are a vital part of the team and we are advertising for two roles in different teams within Manchester. The successful candidate will spend their time delivering a frontline welfare benefits triaging service with the support of a senior caseworker. 

To succeed, you will need experience of advice work which includes using a benefits calculator and signposting. The role also involves managing our telephone and email inbox into the advice service and obtaining feedback about the service from clients alongside initial advice giving. The role could include some short-term casework including concessionary travel claims when capacity allows.

You will need excellent communication skills and be unphased by people presenting with multiple issues, often in emotional distress. You’ll be excited by the challenge of learning new things and have a good knowledge of the services used by disabled people.

About the role

Our moderators manage Facebook groups of up to 18,000 virtual challenge participants. You will be working with some of the biggest names in the sector, supporting them to raise five and six figure sums. 

This role is perfect for skilled fundraisers who can provide excellent supporter care, and is best suited as an additional source of income (the majority of our team are freelancers and consultants). You must be able to begin moderation at 9am (or earlier), wrap up by 9pm and adhere to our sub-three hour response time. 

As a Fundraising Group Moderator, you would be responsible for:

• Becoming the voice of the cause you are representing, adhering to their brand guidelines at all times

• Identifying, escalating and signposting any safeguarding issues

• Managing your own time and work on own initiative

Our moderation takes place between 9am and 9pm, Monday-Sunday. Different challenges have different requirements and whilst you need to be on hand to monitor the group during 9am-9pm, the role does allow for a great deal of personal flexibility.

Swarthmoor Hall in Ulverston is a place of international significance as the birth of the Quaker movement. It comprises a small historic visitor attraction with gardens, a café, on site holiday accommodation plus facilities for the local community. Swarthmoor Hall has lots to offer local visitors and tourists, it is a great place to work with an excellent team. We have plans to develop the attraction further, this along with increasing visitor numbers means we need two new staff. 

We’re looking for motivated and flexible staff to support us opening the Hall and gardens to more visitors, as well as promoting and supervising our self-catering holiday accommodation and café to be open year-round. 

In this role, you will bring experience of managing people, and you will have skills and abilities from working in a range of relevant work settings e.g. café/holiday accommodation/visitor attraction. You will bring lots of energy and ideas on how we can continue to increase the numbers of visitors and improve their experience.

The site is open all year round in 2025, Wednesday to Friday as well as some weekends and bank holidays, and we’re looking to extend this in 2026 and beyond as we grow and develop.

Key Responsibilities:

New Internationalist is seeking an experienced, proactive, creative, and strategic Marketing Manager to lead our income growth efforts during a critical stage in our organisation’s growth and development. You will be responsible for delivering a bold, data-informed marketing strategy designed to increase UK and international magazine subscriptions in print and digital, launch a new membership product, and drive retention across all income channels.

• Campaign Development & Delivery: Plan and execute marketing and sales campaigns across multiple channels (email, social, web, events) to meet set acquisition and retention targets
• Retention and Customer Experience: Work closely with internal teams to improve retention rates and maximise the impact of customer journey touch points.
• Outreach and profile raising: Identify and target new audiences for both subscriptions and news-stand sales, creating a strategy to convert them to subscribers and regular buyers.
• Product Development: Lead the development and launch of a new membership product including stakeholder consultation, light market research, A/B testing, and pricing refinement.
• Community Engagement: Activate and upsell existing subscribers and supporters through tailored messaging, events, and cross-channel promotions.
• Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with internal teams to gather ideas, content, and assets. Coordinate and project-manage campaign delivery organisation-wide.

• Analysis & Reporting: Monitor and report on campaign performance, acquisition costs, and ROI to inform real-time adjustments and strategic planning.

The Marketing Manager will become a member of the NI Co-operative and will be appointed as a Director of New Internationalist Publications Ltd (NIP - the company that runs NI’s day-to-day business in a co-operative fashion), following a period of probation of 6 months.

All co-operative members are directly responsible to the NI co-operative and play an integral part in its business. They report to their teams on general work matters.

Co-operative responsibilities, include:

• Attending all Co-op meetings and sharing the tasks of chairing and minute-taking.
• Being a member of other Co-operative specialist groups.
• Taking an active role in the running of the business to ensure that it operates to meet its mission and financial responsibilities.

Essential Skills & Experience:
 

• Commitment to New Internationalist's mission and aims
• Proven success in marketing, membership, or digital campaigns that increased revenue
• Experience of both target-based delivery and project management
• Strong copywriting and audience engagement skills
• Knowledge of audience and engagement networks appropriate to New Internationalist’s mission
• Familiarity with subscription-based models and donor campaigns
• Knowledge of CMS, CRM systems and email marketing tools
• Experience with email marketing, social media, and analytics tools
• Strategic thinker with practical delivery skills
• Self-starter who can work independently and coordinate across teams
• Understanding of the value and importance of print magazines and independent media

• Experience in publishing, cooperative membership organisations, or social impact sectors
