British Somali Community Centre is a refugee women-led charity with a 30-year history of delivering much needed services in education, family support, advocacy, and health programmes to the community.
We are seeking a dynamic, proactive, part-time Development and Operations Manager to oversee, grow and develop our organisation to continue to serve our community as we deal with an increase in demand for our services post pandemic and with the rise in the Cost-of-Living crisis.
Duties:
- Lead on organisational development, business, and strategy planning.
- Oversee strategic monitoring and reporting, internal audits, costing and business growth opportunities.
- Ensure policies and processes are in place, relevant and regularly reviewed and updated.
- Support the development and operations of projects and processes within the charity.
- Develop and deliver a research plan to identify the most promising prospective donors for BSCC’s programme priorities.
- Work collaboratively with senior management to develop and submit high value funding bids to meet fundraising targets.
- Secure long-term financing for programs by writing and applying for funding from a diverse range of funding streams.
- Develop the organisation to the vision of the board of trustees.
- Prepare updates, papers, and reports for trustee meetings, funding partners, and wherever else applicable.
Requirements -
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in non-profit fundraising and writing successful business plans and strategies.
- Experience of leading on prospect management, taking the initiative, identifying, and reaching out to new trusts and foundations supporters.
- Experience in developing and managing high-quality relationships with trusts and foundations and/or high-net-worth individuals.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and to achieve results in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.

Finance Lead - Fundraising and CAA

This role will deliver high quality insight and financial management which informs decision-making and helps to ensure maximum impact from our fundraising income. As the Finance Lead for Fundraising and CAA you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient utilisation of financial resources to maximise fundraising returns and ensure efficient spend which is aligned to strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare timely, accurate, and insightful management reporting for the directorates, facilitating informed decision-making and effective financial management.
· Lead financial planning processes and provide analysis, guidance and challenge to ensure the development of robust and credible plans.
· Identify risks and opportunities related to fundraising financial performance, providing strategic guidance to mitigate risks and maximize opportunities effectively.
· Support business development with financial scrutiny of tenders, fundraising bids, and business cases.
· Conduct fundraising portfolio ROI analysis and investment appraisal to optimize fundraising returns.
· Manage restricted reserves to ensure spend alignment with intended purposes.
· Provide external reporting to funders as required and act as the primary contact for annual report and audit queries.
· Ensure financial compliance with technical and regulatory requirements, including gift aid and Charity Commission guidance.
· Support the implementation of a new Fundraising CRM system scheduled to go live in April 2025.
· Line management to a Finance Business Partner, offering coaching, support, and career development.

Key Responsibilities

About the role
As Artists & Influencer Manager, you will work with internal and external stakeholders to develop, manage and deliver complex projects in support of Save the Children's campaigns. This is an exciting role where you will get to engage with artists and influencers for various exciting campaigns including Christmas Jumper Day.
You will work with the rest of the A&I team to build a strong roster of high-profile supporters, influencers and ambassadors, stewarding them to become passionate advocates for children's rights, delivering audience cut-through, fundraising objectives and helping build Save the Children's brand.
In this role, you will:
- Alongside the A&I team, be responsible for identifying and delivering the right blend of high profile personalities to support projects, activities and objectives across PR, digital, events, campaigning, partnerships and other.
- Spot opportunities and devise A&I activations that raise awareness and visibility of Save the Children amongst key target audiences with the aim of recruiting new supporters and encouraging them to take action.
- Develop and maintain relationships with current artists and influencers, developing their involvement with Save the Children in creative and innovative ways.

The Women’s Centre Cornwall has grown from its early roots as a Rape Crisis Centre into an innovative, award-winning feminist organisation which provides a wide range of services for women and girls in our communities. Our work with survivors of sexual and domestic violence is our core specialism as we believe that there can be no real gender equality without a complete cessation of violence against women. In addition, we provide community-based activities across Cornwall and support women ex-offenders across Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and HMP Eastwood Park in Gloucestershire.
PURPOSE
The Effective Women’s Centre Project drives forwards and embeds a culture of data quality across The Women’s Centre Cornwall. We are looking for and experienced Data and Systems Lead to work with Managers to improve our data collection and reporting from our case management systems. The successful candidate will provide meaningful and accessible management information, outcomes monitoring, and performance reports; while supporting our Monitoring, Impact & Evaluation Manager to develop ways for us to demonstrate our impact and share stories of change. She will also support our Lived Experience Groups to ensure the experiences of women are at the heart of the organisation and inform our planning and decisions. The Data & Systems Lead will be responsible for continued implementation and project management of the Women’s Risk and Needs Assessment (WRNA) across our services. The WRNA is part of the Effective Women’s Centres Project which is designed to improve current understanding of the needs and strengths of women and to consolidate the evidence base for the effectiveness of Women’s Centres.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
DATA & REPORTING
- Lead on the development of TWCC’s data and case management systems (CMS) ensuring buy-in, consistency and accuracy across the organisation.
- Lead on developing reporting within the organisations case management systems.
- Cultivating a Learning Culture around data within the organisation.
- Extracting quantitative data from the CMS; carrying out quality audits and cleaning and organising the data in preparation for analysis.
- Delivering training to teams ensuring they understand the requirements and importance of data collection in a way that is engaging and inclusive
- Conducting in-depth ongoing data analysis to identify improvement opportunities, risks and issues.
THE WOMEN’S RISK & NEEDS ASSESSMENT (WRNA)
- Building upon the newly introduced Women’s Risk and Needs Assessment (WRNA) across the Open Team and supporting wider Women’s Centre teams to adopt the tool.
- Working with Service Managers, providing support to the Team Leaders, sharing learning and guidance on the use of the tool.
- Monitor the progress of the implementation of WRNA and take appropriate action if any issues are identified.
- Organise and deliver training to enable practitioners to use the WRNA.
- Lead on integration of WRNA with case management software.
- Monitor recruitment of women to the WRNA project and quality of data inputted in the assessments.
- Lead on internal communications and messaging around implementation of the WRNA.
- Sharing learning with other women’s centres involved in the Effective Women’s Centre’s project.
- Develop and deliver a project plan which ensures WRNA is rolled out consistently across the organisation.
- Oversee the delivery of the plan, revising plans based on the changing needs and requirements of the project and wider partners involved.
LIVED EXPERIENCE WORK
- Co-facilitate the Lived Experience Group and involve women with lived experience in the implementation of the Effective Women’s Centres project and across our wider services.
- Support individuals in the group to contribute to our national influencing objectives

Responsibilites:
Fundraising – General
- To deliver a continuous fundraising operation to meet the short, medium and long-term revenue needs of the charity as determined by the CEO and Board of Trustees
- Establish and maintain positive relationships across the organisation and an in-depth understanding of the charity’s needs and priorities to ensure your fundraising activity contributes positively
- Development and maintenance of key resources to support our fundraising activity, including case for support, programme schedule and budgets
- To develop corporate sponsorship proposals and be prepared to respond promptly to funding offers and opportunities
- To steward regular donors, ensure they receive appropriate thanks and are kept informed
- Develop strategy to increase number of regular donors through the implementation of a regular giving programme
- Grow and manage the regular donors’ scheme, Payroll Giving, In-Memory giving, and appeals, contributing to the overall fundraising strategy.
- Champion the use of data and insight to drive regular giving, utilising database (Beacon) for effective prospect and donor management
- Monitor, evaluate, and forecast campaign performance, ensuring targets are met and providing reports as required

Fundraising – Trusts & Foundations
- Researching fundraising opportunities which are likely to fund the work of CHN, writing compelling grant applications and building and managing a new business pipeline to deliver year-on-year growth in Trust and Foundations Fundraising income
- Cultivate relationships with prospects and identify appropriate projects or areas of CHN’s work to meet their criteria, developing tailored, persuasive funding proposals
- Deliver first-class grant management – taking responsibility for all requirements of funders including impact reporting, financial monitoring and reporting
- Ensure robust and practical monitoring and evaluation plans are in place to demonstrate the impact of grants you manage and report effectively to funders
Relationship Management
- Provide excellent stewardship and supporter care to regular donors
