Our Warehouse Volunteers help make sure furniture and other donated items are safely received, organised and ready for customers. This is a hands-on role suited to people who enjoy practical tasks and being active.

A bit more information about this role and the team
Our brand-new Skipton store is due to open on the 26 November, so we’ll be looking for our new volunteers to start then. To welcome our new volunteers and get you up to speed, we’re aiming to hold a volunteer induction session(s) during the week commencing 16 November.
What we need from you
- Following safe moving and handling procedures at all times
- Helping to safely move and handle furniture and other donated items
- Receiving stock from collection and delivery vehicles and helping organise incoming donations
- Preparing sold items for customer collection or delivery
- Keeping warehouse areas tidy, organised and free from avoidable hazards
- Moving furniture onto the shop floor as stock is sold and space becomes available
- Helping assemble flat-pack furniture for display where required
- Carrying out simple furniture repairs where you feel confident and have received appropriate guidance
- Collaborating closely with the warehouse and shop team to keep stock moving efficiently
Time expectation
Our Warehouse Volunteers usually spend around four hours per day in this role.
