Key responsibilities of the role:

• Assist in the preparation of audited financial statements for two major subsidiaries
• Complete the consolidation of subsidiary entities into the relevant group financial statements
• Prepare statutory accounts for smaller entities for review by senior finance colleagues
• Submit statutory returns, including those for tax and national statistics authorities, and support fundraising and grant teams with financial data derived from statutory accounts
• Collaborate with senior finance leadership to support strategic initiatives aimed at streamlining financial processes, reducing errors, and improving data-driven decision-making
• Lead a project to automate and integrate statutory account preparation using linked Excel and Word documents, ensuring real-time updates and maintaining template functionality
• Reconcile a range of control accounts on a monthly basis and resolve outstanding items in coordination with cross-functional finance teams
• Act as a key contact for external auditors, attend senior-level audit meetings, process adjustments, and implement recommended improvements
• Partner with management accounting and regional teams to align reporting processes and agree on accounting treatments for key balances such as debtors and accruals
• Develop insight into property reporting and funding, and its alignment with statutory reporting—particularly regarding reserves and contingent liabilities
• Support the preparation of key board and audit committee papers, including going concern assessments in collaboration with senior finance leadership
• Ensure compliance with year-end procedures and produce balance sheet reconciliations and supporting notes for audit purposes

Ideal candidate profile:

• Fully qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)

• Advanced IT skills to enable complex manipulation and interpretation of financial data
• A deep understanding of accounting concepts with proven experience of dealing with external auditors

About the Role

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

Strategy, vision and impact [25%]

• Be at the forefront of leading Resurgo’s ‘big picture’ vision of a transformed society, empowering churches to transform young lives 
• Build and implement a strategy for developing relationships with local referral agencies to ensure effective recruitment of young people onto the Spear programme 
• Oversee the reporting of the Centre outcomes and ensure the Spear Programme is delivered in line with agreed targets 

Leadership, line management and training [25%]

• Lead your team with confidence; spurring them on in Resurgo’s mission; invest in a team culture of excellence, belonging and fun 
• Manage and develop the Lead Coach and Assistant Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development. This includes weekly 1:1s, performance reviews and regular feedback
• Equip your team to drive change through a data informed approach, and keep them accountable to agreed targets for the Spear Programme

Relationship management [20%]

• Manage great relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including referrers, local businesses, donors, and your Board of Trustees 
• Embed into your local church; working closely with your Spear Trustees and congregation, and actively participating in their mission and events
• Partner with the Spear Trustees and assist in implementing their funding strategy by helping to build corporate and donor relationships. For example, by hosting prospective donors in the Training Room

Delivery of the Spear Programme [20%]

• Support group and 1-1 coaching with numerous 16-24-year-olds: equipping them with practical work-ready skills and resilient mindsets 
• Provide guidance to the Lead Coach in the training room when dealing with behavioural and safeguarding situations and upskill coaches with consistent coaching feedback
• Use a coaching approach to engage young people in challenging conversations that will enable them to take responsibility and over significant barriers to employment 

Operations [10%]

• Liaise with relevant staff regarding site operations and work to resolve any issues as soon as possible, ensuring the office and training room are safe and tidy working spaces in line with health and safety policies

Job Purpose

Your role is an integral part of the central team with responsibility for procedures, systems that support the effective, efficient, and compliant managing of our premises, IT systems and some HR functions.

You will play a key role in delivering and maintaining our offices and facilities, and the IT services for the whole organisation alongside our retained IT consultants.

By providing high quality operational and administrative support you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our organisation. You will do this by:

• Supporting the Director of Finance and Operations in delivering and maintaining effective operational function at the charity. Including but not exclusively, Health & Safety, Insurance, Premises, Facilities, Vehicle Management, IT and CRM system services.
• Improving existing office systems and identifying opportunities to develop new systems and processes to enable people to work more collaboratively, efficiently, and effectively. 
• Coordinating and implementing efficient HR processes and record-keeping, including recruitment, onboarding and training of staff.
• Being the key contact for staff and volunteers for all IT and premises matters including induction and training.

About the Role

As our Housing Coordinator you will ensure The Angelou Centre’s refuge accommodations continue to be a safe and welcoming safe for women. You will ensure we comply with statutory building, property and Health & Safety obligations. You will be responsible for ensuring health and safety compliance, coordinating repairs and maintenance, managing tenancy-related matters, and supporting the wellbeing of women and children accessing our refuge services. You will also line mange our Refuge and Housing Support Workers and our Haven Finance Officer

 Refuge Management

• Ensure that the refuge (dispersed accommodation) provides a safe supportive and welcoming environment in compliance with UK housing laws and the requirements of registered social landlords.
• To ensure completion of all necessary forms including housing and welfare benefit forms. 
• To liaise with statutory and voluntary agencies and networks, e.g. Housing Benefit -Networks/Housing agencies 
• Action any breaches of leases or tenancy agreements promptly and efficiently to ensure compliance with lease/tenancy obligations.
• Proactively address any arrears in a timely fashion and take appropriate action to recover debts.
