At Future Frontiers, we support young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to realise their potential at school and achieve post-16 qualifications that build towards secure, fulfilling employment.

In partnership with schools, businesses and supporters, we deliver an evidence-based programme of career coaching and 1:1 guidance for young people when they are in Year 10 and 11. This year, we are working with 3,000 young people across Greater London. 

Our five-year strategy for 2021-26 is focused on ensuring that our programme achieves meaningful long-term impact at the post-16 transition, transforming the life-chances of disadvantaged young people.

About the role

A colleague in the Operations team will be taking maternity leave from late 2024 for approximately 10 months. We are looking for a new team member to join us in late November for a period of handover with the current Finance and Operations Officer, and then to support the Director of Operations during our colleague’s maternity leave. 

Key focus areas will be finance and bookkeeping using Xero software, HR support, basic IT management and charity and company administration.

This role provides the chance for an experienced Xero user to develop a greater understanding and knowledge of charity and company management across finance, HR, IT, operations, office management and administration in a friendly and supportive environment, with personal and professional development at its heart.

Discharge Navigator (Mental Health) 

Birmingham 

£28,801 per annum

Full time - 37.5hrs per week 

Our client is a leading provider of mental health services in Birmingham and the West Midlands. They offer high quality services that support both recovery and wellbeing, and they actively work with people so that they can be in control of their lives.

Their Discharge Navigators work within acute units across Birmingham and Solihull in a key role supporting individuals to enable a smooth discharge back into their accommodation and community. 

You will work with Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Trust Discharge Manager’s to prioritise and manage a case load supporting individuals on a recovery journey. This will involve participating in bed management and multi-disciplinary team meetings.

You will work closely with a range of statutory and other third sector providers including housing providers to find appropriate housing and community support networks to aid successful recovery. 

The successful candidate will have previous experience of working in a paid role in the mental health field, with experience of supporting people with a person-centred approach. You will be organised, solution focused and resilient with excellent communication skills. 

A full UK driving licence and use of a vehicle is also desirable.

Net Zero Property Officer

We are offering this unique and exciting opportunity to join in the work of the Connexional Property Support and Environmental Engagement teams and the wider Methodist Church in helping to deliver the strategic target to make all our church property net zero by 2030.

You will be based in the Property Support team, working alongside the Director and colleagues within the team to provide the essential support and guidance the team offers to Trustees, Ministers, Connexional colleagues and the wider church.  You will also be working closely with other Connexional colleagues outside the team, particularly the Director of Environmental Engagement and Action for Hope Implementation Officer.

In particular, your role will provide a crucial focus at a critical time - helping to guide Trustees and Ministers on how to make our church property net zero.  Enabling them to make informed choices and contribute to the promotion and delivery of the Methodist Church’s Action for Hope strategy

Through your specific knowledge and experience, you will also have input into the provision of guidance, advice, communications, training and good practice for District Property Officers and the wider Methodist Church on net zero property matters.

This is an office or home-based role, with the post holder focussing on supporting churches nationally.  You may be required to travel to our offices in Church House, London and other locations around the country as necessary.

We are looking for someone who wants to make a positive contribution to the work of the Property Support team and be equally comfortable collaborating in a team environment or under your own initiative.  You will have experience supporting a senior team, and preferably have relevant knowledge for the role such as environmental, climate or property in this context.

The Consultant role will support the Director and Mobilise team to coordinate and  deliver a range of projects supporting our clients. • Home and remote working with one day or more per week at a shared office

• Some travel required within London and England which may include overnight stays according to the needs of contracts (anticipated travel days 2-3 days per month)

• 25 days paid leave per year plus bank holidays (pro rata)

Post: Communications and Marketing Officer

Responsible to: Director  

Salary: £27,344 FTE (Scale 6, point 18)

Actual Salary: £14,583.47 (20 hours pro rata)

Hours: Part time 20 hours (over 3 days per week) may include evenings

Holidays: 24 days pro rata per year plus public holidays

Pension: 5% employer + 3% employee

Fixed term contract: 12 months from date of start, continuation subject to funding.  

Main purpose of the post:

• To work with the Director and SLDAS Board of Trustees on the delivery of the charity's Communications strategy as we look to grow our portfolio and engagement with supporters. 

• This role will develop online and offline communications to maximise digital, marketing and media opportunities; in line with SLDAS Communications Strategy, Objectives and wider strategic objectives.
