Head of Finance - 2 days a week - remote

Charity People have partnered with Mind in Enfield and Barnet to help recruit a permanent Head of Finance who is looking to work two days a week with real strategic impact. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead the finance function, ensuring financial sustainability, supporting organisational growth, and helping to shape the future direction of a respected mental health charity.

Location: Predominantly Remote (with occasional attendance at Barnet and Enfield offices)
Hours: 14 hours per week (0.4 FTE)
Salary: £60,000 which will be pro-ratad for two days a week

Key Duties

• Lead the organisation's financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and long-term financial planning.
• Partner with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team to support organisational growth, change management and the development of new funded projects and service opportunities.
• Oversee monthly management accounts, financial reporting and variance analysis, ensuring robust financial controls and timely decision-making.
• Ensure full compliance with charity finance regulations, SORP requirements, statutory obligations and audit processes.
• Provide financial oversight of contracts, income streams, payroll and organisational resources to support sustainable service delivery.
• Support governance activities by servicing Finance & HR Committee meetings, contributing to Board reporting and maintaining governance records.

Person Specification

• Must have experience working within the charity or not-for-profit sector
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience in a senior finance leadership role.
• Strong strategic and commercial mindset with the ability to translate financial information into meaningful business insights.
• Proven experience of budget management, financial planning, audit management and maintaining strong financial controls.
• Skilled relationship builder with the confidence to influence senior stakeholders and work collaboratively across teams.
• Highly organised, adaptable and solutions-focused, with excellent communication skills and advanced Excel capability.
