Summary of the role:

This role is crucial in supporting the Head of Strategy in developing the organisational strategy and operational plans, making sure that everything stays on track.

This will include assisting in monitoring the progress of strategic planning, planning workshops to facilitate internal communication and learning, but also supporting in routineday-to-day tasks including scheduling, managing the flow of, filing, archiving and securing of important/confidential information, facilitating smooth and effective communication with relevant stakeholders and by providing administrative support on small-scale projects.

We need someone who is a quick learner, proactive, and can adapt quickly. Your work directly impacts the future strategic direction of Muslim Aid.

About the Role:

1. Assist in the development and implementation of organisational strategies and plans.
2. Support in the monitoring of key deliverables against identified indicators in the operationalisation of the strategy, including effective coordination with relevant departments to ensure milestones are met.
3. Undertake small-scale project work including researching, analysing and recommending next steps.
4. Where necessary, read, research, and summarise documents, reports, and articles, advising the Head of Strategy on current sector developments.
5. Develop a thorough understanding of Muslim Aid's work areas in order to ensure strategic linkages/appropriate dissemination of information or assignment/follow up of actions.

PSPA supports families affected by Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) and Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD), both are complex neurological conditions that affect mobility, vision, swallowing and cognition.

We are looking for someone to join our helpline team to provide professional, comprehensive support and make a real difference to people living with PSP, CBD, their families, and carers. 

We are seeking a motivated and confident person who can deliver a high-quality professional service, to work on our helpline. Previous experience of working in health, social care or the helpline sector is essential. You need to be a patient, empathetic listener with excellent verbal and written communication skills. The role will involve assessing and responding to callers' needs via our telephone and email service providing practical and emotional support and delivering learning sessions about PSP and CBD to health and social care professionals. Ideally, you will have experience working on a helpline or in a health or social care setting.

Ability and willingness to travel within your region is essential.  Occasional weekend work may be required.  The role covers the following regions: Greater London, Kent, Essex & Surrey.

Location

We all work from home, however travel and overnight stays are required as part of the role.  You'll attend around three symposia a year, which usually run from Mondays to Thursdays and are currently held in the Lake District.  You'll also attend up to three half-day meetings in London a year, which may require overnight stays depending on how far away from London you live.  The biennial prizegiving ceremony is also held in London. It would be helpful if you had a full UK driving licence and access to your own car.

Provide a safe space for young people who identify as LGBTQ+. The groups are focused on supporting LGBTQ+ young people to come together, explore their questions & identities, learn about LGBTQ+ culture, find local community, make friends and have fun 

Key Responsibilities  

Delivering services to children and young people 

• Engaging with young people in face-to-face groups and 1-1 sessions to motivate, inspire and encourage potential

• Support to plan and deliver our LGBTQ+ sessions ensuring continued support is given by Eikon to young people; putting young people first, ensuring we offer the right help at the right time 

• Contact new young people and parent referrals to ensure suitability for group or 1-1 support 

• Support the LGBTQ+ team in ensuring young people are involved in the planning, delivery and evaluation of youth work 

• Ensure that parents and carers are involved in the planning, delivery and evaluation of the peer parenting work 

• Signpost CYP to relevant support services for additional support where needed 

• Listening to and supporting young people showing empathy, and understanding, remaining non-judgmental and caring 

• Escalate any safeguarding concerns following Eikons safeguarding process and procedures 

• Ensure accurate and timely case recording, including ensuring case note processes are followed and all data and information is uploaded to the relevant data bases

The role oversees employee relations, employee experience, learning and development, reward, resourcing, talent management, people analytics, EDI, wellbeing and payroll. The Community Fundraising team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for securing income from individuals, regional businesses and groups fundraising in the community, effectively managing relationships to maximise income.

The Regional Fundraising Officer role will play a significant part in contributing to a high-performing fundraising team. The role will cover the Kent and Sussex region.

You will report to the Community Fundraising Manager and support the Head of Regional Fundraising to drive the continued growth of the charity’s community fundraising income in your area. You will also be required to show excellent relationship-building skills to support community partnerships and volunteer groups, driving towards agreed targets.

This is a 12-month fixed term contract, or on return of the substantive post holder, to cover a period of maternity leave.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Strategy, finance, and reporting

· Responsibility for 3 income streams within the Kent and Sussex region including corporate, community groups and Do It Yourself (DIY) fundraising.

· Identify and apply for ‘Charity of the Year’ partnerships with corporates in the region, account manage these relationships up to a value of £50,000 per annum and support the Partnership Development Team with partnerships in your region with a value of up to £100,000.

· Support existing volunteer fundraisers to encourage continued loyalty to the charity and to maximise funds raised, following fundraising legislation and good practice.

· Recruit new fundraising supporters in line with strategy.

· Support the Community Fundraising Manager (CFM) and Head of Regional Fundraising (HORF) in developing the Community Fundraising strategy for ARUK to increase income within this stream.

· Support and extend volunteer networks within the geographical area in line with strategy.

· To ensure that fundraising activity is implemented and managed locally to deliver budgets, targets and income in line with strategy. To achieve this by supporting and facilitating the development of groups and volunteers across the geographical area.

· Work across a diverse geographical area and within a geographically dispersed team, whilst managing own workload cost-effectively and proactively.

Supporter Management

· Provide excellent customer service to community fundraising supporters (including maintaining a polite, enthusiastic manner with prompt responses to enquiries), to acknowledge support and increase long-term loyalty.

· Provide high-quality account management to volunteer groups in geographical area.

· Effective management of volunteer relationships within geographical area.

· Support, motivate and develop local fundraising volunteers, ensuring they have a clear understanding of ARUK to enable them to represent the charity’s work effectively.

· In liaison with the Partnership Development Managers and Partnership Development Officers, provide high-quality account management to corporate supporters within the specified geographical area and/or of relevant value.

· Keep up to date with fundraising legislation and codes of practice to be able to provide relevant advice to fundraisers.

· Ensure volunteers and fundraisers have all necessary materials for fundraising initiatives.

Increasing Community Support within geographical area

· Use own initiative to extend volunteer networks, develop new groups and supporters, and respond to fundraising opportunities within the geographical area, in line with strategy.

· Run volunteer events with both a recruitment and cultivation function, liaising closely with the Stewardship and Events team to ensure a seamless supporter journey, and with the Press team to include media volunteers.

· Manage the recruitment process of new ARUK volunteers in the geographical area, providing relevant support and training.

· Liaise with local community organisations (e.g., golf clubs, educational institutions etc.) – both previous and new potential supporters – to extend income and activity in line with the strategy.

· Initiate and roll out community fundraising events in the geographical area with evidence of effective ROI and achievement of strategic goals.

· Provide face-to-face talks and presentations to community organisations for recruitment/ cultivation purposes.

· Arrange appropriate volunteer representation at events in the community (for example, for cheque collections and talks), spreading the charity’s reach cost-effectively.

· Identify, research and target prospective community organisations, in liaison with CFM.

· Identify, research and target prospective local corporates in liaison with CFM / HORF and ARUK’s Partnership Development Managers and Partnership Development Officers, in line with both community and corporate strategies.

· Accurately track and record contact with both community and corporate prospects for planning and reporting purposes.

Monitoring and Reporting

· Ensure that your activity is monitored and evaluated, clearly communicating progress to your Community Fundraising Manager.

· Manage relevant information on the charity’s database, keeping detailed, up-to-date records of activity and income.

What we are looking for:

· Experience in partnership fundraising and/or relationship-building.

· Experience in public speaking, such as giving presentations and talking at events.

· Knowledge of recruiting key volunteers and fundraising supporters.

· Experience and a keen interest in building long-term relationships with supporters.

· Proven ability to provide excellent stewardship.

· An ability to manage a busy and varied workload.

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

· Excellent organisational skills.

· Full driver’s license with access to own vehicle. 

· Flexibility to work some unsocial hours and willingness to travel independently.

· Live within Kent and Sussex region.

About the role:

When a family member has a spinal cord injury, it can be difficult to acknowledge and accept that their injury will affect you too.

You might find it difficult to express and share how you have been affected by these events, especially to your loved one with the injury. Overwhelming feelings of guilt, helplessness, confusion and isolation are very common. 

Back Up’s Family Support team are there to help. Right from the point of injury, our Family Support Coordinators work together with the family and the injured person to create their own ‘Family Plan’ - making sure they have access to information and support throughout the rehabilitation journey.

As a Family Support Coordinator, you will build relationships with professionals to encourage referrals and manage a caseload. Job Purpose

This role is within our crisis alternative service Safe Space - an out of hours service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed and experiencing crisis. The service operates 365 days a year from 12:00pm (midday) - 11:30pm across all of our boroughs. The role will consist of two shift patterns to ensure the service is covered: 11:30am-6:30pm and 4:30-11:30pm. This will be on a rota basis across support workers.

Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face or via telephone on a one-to-one or group basis to individuals experiencing mental health crisis. This will consist of 1:1 support; de-escalating and providing interventions, signposting for specialised or longer-term support, and delivering collaborative self-management plans with clients to improve mental wellbeing. The aim of this service is to de-escalate and prevent further crises.

The objectives of the service include:

• To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health crisis in HFEH.
• To provide support to clients accessing the service- for instance: signposting, de-escalation, planned wellbeing activities etc.
• To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• To treat service users with respect, dignity and personalised support
• To raise awareness of mental health services available with the goal to improve long term mental health and reduce social isolation
• To increase self-management skills of those accessing the service
• To reduce the use of police, ambulance and statutory mental health services whilst experiencing crisis.
• To reduce the use of statutory crisis services by people experiencing mental ill health without positive outcomes for the individual.

The Role

The role of the support workers will be to support the rest of the team in delivering interventions on a one-to-one and group basis. The role will also involve triaging and assessing all clients accessing the service, signposting and delivering collaborative self-management plans with clients to improve mental wellbeing.

As the Institute’s Fundraising Manager you will play a pivotal role in securing the financial resources necessary to support the Institute’s strategic initiatives and operations, as well as maintaining the relationships and communities that drive long term funding. Working closely with the Institute’s Executive Leadership and board, you will be responsible for executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy from mixed funding sources – government, philanthropic and corporate - engaging with funders, and building lasting relationships with stakeholders to maximise funding opportunities.

Alongside being active in direct engagement with funders, you will lead on the underlying processes and systems that drive successful fundraising, creating and maintaining rigorous process management, record-keeping and CRM use, funder research and meeting preparation, and supporting the senior team in creating relationships that last. You will work to make the best of the Institute’s varied and committed networks and ensure that the communities around the Institute are engaged in our work, and excited to contribute. 

Harnessing the Institute’s powerful networks across mainstream financial services impact investing, social investment, philanthropy and government you will be a key figure in securing the resourcing that underpins a dynamic new chapter of the Institute’s five-year strategy.

Key responsibilities & skills development opportunities: 

Fundraising Strategy and Implementation 

• Implement a robust fundraising strategy aligned with the Institute's mission and goals.

• Create and manage annual fundraising plans with clear targets and KPIs. 

• Identify and outreach to potential funding sources, including foundations, corporations and government. 

• Enable and support senior leadership, board and wider team to engage with potential funders, setting them up for success. 

Donor Engagement and Relationship Management 

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing donors, ensuring they are engaged and informed about the impact of their contributions. 

• Identify and approach new potential donors, providing compelling cases for support. 

• Working closely with our events capability organise and manage donor events, meetings, and communications. 

Proposal Development and Grant Management 

• Lead the development of high-quality proposals and grant applications working closely with leadership and programme colleagues.

• Monitor and report on the progress of fundraising, providing regular updates to senior management and the board. 

• Monitor and report on the progress of grants, working with project managers and leadership to ensure grant deliverables are achieved on time 

Collaboration and Team Leadership 

• Work closely with the Executive Director, and team members across the organisation to align fundraising efforts with strategic and programmatic priorities. 

• Coordinate with the communications and events team to develop engaging materials and events to support fundraising efforts. 

• Be supportive of creating a collaborative and inclusive working environment, supporting key Institute-wide commitments on DEI. 

Data Management and Reporting 

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of fundraising activities, donor interactions, and financial contributions. 

• Prepare detailed reports on fundraising performance, donor engagement, and financial targets. 

• Maintain CRM systems to be up to date, and utilize systems to manage donor information and track fundraising metrics. 

• Ensure that the Institute complies with laws, regulations and best practice relating to fundraising including, but not limited to, those specified by the Fundraising Regulator in its Code of Conduct and GDPR. 

Essential Qualifications and Experience: 

• Proven experience in fundraising preferably within the non-profit sector. 

• Interest and enthusiasm for the impact investing sector. 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive proposals and presentations. 

• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. 

• Proficiency in using CRM systems. 

Desirable Skills and Attributes: 

• Experience in securing large multi-year grants. 

• Demonstrated success in securing significant funding from diverse sources. 

• Strong understanding of the impact investing landscape and its funding dynamics. 

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, finance, communications).

This is an exciting opportunity for a housing adviser to join our advice services team and provide advice and casework on a range of housing issues such as social housing allocations, homelessness applications and reviews, S21 notices and rent arrears.  The role will involve casework and advocacy on behalf of clients to local authorities, housing associations and private landlords, as well as giving one off advice by telephone, email or at outreach sessions.

You will have at least 1 years' experience of providing advice on a range of housing issues, with an awareness and understanding of the benefits system, in particular as it relates to housing costs.  You will be confident in giving advice over the phone and digitally as well as providing casework support to clients.   You will share our passion for tackling poverty and injustice and will have a commitment to working in an anti-oppressive, non-discriminatory and empowering way with people from a range of backgrounds and experiences.

When a person or their family member sustains a spinal cord injury it is a life changing experience. For many it is a huge concern as to whether they will be able to return to their current occupation or employer or whether they will ever be able to work or volunteer again following their spinal cord injury.

Back Up’s vocation service aims to be the leader in supporting people with spinal cord injury to return to work and our Vocation Coordinators are the main point of contact to help service users reach their vocational goals. They work in partnership with spinal units and other stakeholders such as employers to raise aspirations, coordinating activities such as our Skills for Work courses and Careers Fair, as well as providing telephone support to service users.

You’ll be a confident communicator with excellent organisational skills in person, in writing and on the telephone. You’ll enjoy planning and delivering work to see projects through; be that independently or as part of a wider team.

The People and Culture Manager post sits is in a People and Learning group which brings together all the people specialisms from across the organisation – UK HR, people in mission support, vocational recruitment, mission learning and organisational development - to ensure maximum coordination and to strengthen a culture of diversity, inclusion, empowerment, learning and collaboration across all our people.
