Charity People is delighted to be partnering with a leading independent charitable foundation.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR Administrator to join a small, friendly People team and provide essential support across HR systems, recruitment, onboarding and general people administration.

Its work focuses on improving opportunities for individuals and communities, particularly through investment in education, the arts, and initiatives that support young people and vulnerable groups.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintaining and updating employee records across HR systems, including starters, leavers and contractual changes
  • Supporting recruitment administration, including coordinating interviews and maintaining recruitment systems
  • Monitoring HR inboxes and responding to queries appropriately
  • Supporting onboarding processes, including right to work checks, references and DBS checks
  • Assisting with HR policy research and preparation of draft documents
  • Maintaining annual leave records and supporting HR compliance processes
  • Supporting benefits administration, invoices and HR documentation
  • Organising HR files in line with GDPR requirements
  • Providing general administrative support to the People & Culture team


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in an HR administration
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Confidence working across HR systems and processes
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
  • A practical, logical approach to problem-solving
  • An interest in building a longer-term career within HR
  • Experience using PeopleHR (desirable)
  • CIPD Level 3 or working towards (desirable)


This role would suit someone who enjoys being hands-on, is comfortable working within a small team, and is keen to add value quickly in a busy, generalist HR environment.
