The Organisation
The Royal Parks (TRP) is a charity created in March 2017. We manage over 5,000 acres of diverse parkland, rare habitats and historic buildings and monuments in eight Royal Parks across London. These are Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, The Green Park, St James’s Park, The Regent's Park and Primrose Hill, Greenwich Park, Richmond Park and Bushy Park.
We also manage other important public spaces including Brompton Cemetery and Victoria Tower Gardens. Our eight Royal Parks and other iconic green spaces are among the most visited attractions in the UK with tens of millions of visits every year.
We are now looking for a Park Officer to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 36 hours a week, as well as some weekends and evenings for events. The postholder will be required to work onsite 5 days a week.

The Role
As a Park Officer, you will support the safe, smooth and welcoming day-to-day operation of St James’ Park.
Working closely with the Park Manager, Assistant Park Managers, Head Gardener, Senior Wildlife Officer and Volunteer Manager you will play a role across a wide range of park operations, from horticulture and estates activity to events, sustainability and public engagement.
You will support events and filming activity, liaise with contractors and estates teams, respond to enquiries from park users and stakeholders, and help maintain clear, engaging signage and public-facing information. This will include working on some weekends and evenings for event monitoring.
Additionally, you will:
- Carry out regular inspections of park facilities and infrastructure
- Monitor playgrounds, amenities and park furniture
- Assist with estate developments and compliance with licences and permits
- Help manage the park vehicles fleet and participate in the duty management on-call rota
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations whilst promoting a safe workplace and minimising risks
About You
To be considered as a Park Officer, you will need:
- Experience working at medium or large events at an operational level
- Report writing and proofreading experience
- Knowledge of Health and Safety principles, roles and responsibilities
- A basic understanding of best practice and technical matters relating to landscape, parks, horticulture and sustainability
- Good communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
- A full, valid driving licence

Essential Criteria:

- Understanding of trauma-informed approaches and a commitment to developing organisational culture to ensure inclusion and diversity.

- Experience working in a similar role within the charity or non-profit sector is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including active listening, with the ability to determine business goals and suggest ways to achieve them through HR initiatives.

About the role
We’re seeking a Direct Marketing and Acquisition Officer to join our high-performing fundraising team.
2025 was our best year yet for income and this role is pivotal in helping us to take the next step in growing our supporter base and future income.
This new role will be responsible for planning and delivering multi-channel campaigns to recruit regular donors, using data-led insights, audience segmentation, and performance tracking to optimise activity across digital, direct mail, telemarketing, and face-to-face channels.

Key responsibilities:
- Deliver effective multi-channel acquisition campaigns across digital and offline channels.

The Fundraising & Events Officer will help deliver a programme of successful fundraising and cultivation events, including the Charity's challenge events, annual golf day, comedy night, and dedicated industry dinners while providing excellent stewardship to supporters and partners. You'll also collaborate closely with the wider Fundraising Team to support various income streams, bringing creativity, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive approach to making each event as impactful as possible.
Reporting to the Corporate Partnership Manager, you will plan, organise and deliver events from conception through to evaluation. This will include managing event budgets, sourcing prizes, coordinating suppliers (including photographers and entertainers), liaising with invitees to maximise attendance, and working with the Head of Marketing to promote events across social media and event webpages. The successful candidate will bring proven experience of planning and executing successful events end-to-end, strong project management skills and attention to detail, and confidence juggling multiple deadlines. You'll be an excellent relationship-builder with strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable engaging a wide range of stakeholders (donors, volunteers, staff, and suppliers). Most importantly, you'll enjoy working collaboratively as part of a small team, bringing great attention to detail and a passion for putting together great supporter experiences, alongside resilience and calm problem-solving when plans change.

The largest single element of this role will be day-to-day management of the social media channels. You will work with teams across to organisation to reach target audiences with paid and organic content serving programmatic work, and broader strategic goals.
You will lead planning and delivery of email marketing, and support the maintenance of the websites and delivery of pay-per-click marketing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading implementation of the social media strategy, shaping presence on a range of channels (currently Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube). Including main channels, and those of the Let’s Go Zero campaign.
- Developing and implement a content plan for newsletters.
- Working with the Digital Lead to maintain and update content on the website using WordPress.
About You
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Strong knowledge of social channels including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube.
- Proven experience in managing or developing social media accounts: following brand guidelines and creating impact in-line with organisational goals and strategies.
- Experience using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign to create visually appealing content for digital channels.
- Experience leading or supporting paid social media paid campaigns.
- The Ability to handle and prioritise multiple tasks and projects, alongside strong interpersonal skills.

Purpose of the job
The successful candidate will be employed as part of the Evidence Team working in a supportive, dynamic and fast-moving environment. While the post is initially funded for 1 year, there is likely to be further funding to work on projects related to water quality monitoring/modelling and nature-based solutions beyond this date. The role is to lead delivery of various projects within the Evidence Program, working closely with a variety of project partners and focusing on evidencing water quality pollution issues, identifying opportunities for pollution mitigation using nature-based treatment solutions, and monitoring their effectiveness. Projects vary from local and national scale to international collaborations.
You will undertake water quality monitoring, co-ordinate networks of citizen scientists to monitor water quality, perform dataset analysis, perform water quality modelling, and provide advice and guidance on the best nature-based solutions. This job would suit somebody with experience in monitoring water quality and/or nature-based solutions, and working with volunteers.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Support the delivery of various projects – including constructing work plans, achieving project milestones.
· Routine maintenance of probes, water testing kits and other field equipment.
· Data inputting, analysis, presentation and visualisation using a variety of software and online tools such as Excel, ArcGIS, QGIS.
· Production of high impact verbal and written reports aimed at a range of expert and non-expert audiences.
· Undertake surface water sampling and data collection, analysis and interpretation of results, desk-based studies and project reports and recommendations.
· Coordinate stakeholders across projects and partnerships to implement/co-develop new tools/approaches to data and evidence analysis/modelling.
· Method development and support of monitoring carried out by citizen scientists.
· Delivery of other types of project work, as and when required by project or team managers.
· Work outside in a riverside environment in a variety of weather conditions.
· Work with Thames21 colleagues to develop and implement Thames21’s vision.
