Our client is a resident-led partnership based in Wormholt and White City, working to create a connected, inclusive and thriving community. They deliver community events, support young people, and promote health and wellbeing – always with local voices at the heart of what they do.
 
As Project Officer, you’ll be the organisational anchor for the team – keeping things running smoothly through excellent admin, communication, and project support. From booking meetings and updating our socials to supporting events and managing the inbox, your work will be varied, fast-paced and impactful.
 
You’ll work closely with the Project Manager and other delivery staff to support the success of their  programmes and ensure residents feel welcome, informed and heard.

• Providing day-to-day admin support to the team, including scheduling, note-taking, supplies, and logistics

The Rapid Intervention team, will be providing vital outreach support to individuals who are currently rough sleeping across Westminster. The team will work with the objective of supporting those rough sleeping to find a suitable and sustainable route away from the street.

Our belief is that rough sleeping is an intrinsically harmful and dangerous activity both for the individual and for the wider community. Therefore, we take a proactive and assertive approach to supporting people away from this activity. Our aim is to support people to recover from the effects of rough sleeping and move away from a street lifestyle permanently.

• Working as an Outreach Worker you will work with people to assess their needs and deliver a person centred support, as well as working in partnership with multi-disciplinary teams and agencies across the city to meet client’s individual needs.

• It’s not always an easy job, but the opportunity to work with different people every day, helping individuals experiencing homelessness and the local community end the harms of rough sleeping can be highly rewarding.

You will work on a weekly shift rota to ensure we are available to support people experiencing homelessness when they need us the most.

Solace provides safe refuge and move on accommodation to hundreds of women and children made homeless through domestic or sexual abuse. We run 22 refuges across London, including specialist refuge spaces for women with multiple needs. Of these, this role will involve working across two refuges in the borough of Camden, in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

About the Role

The primary role of a Family Support Worker is to provide effective, efficient, and supportive service to children and their mothers residing in refuge with Solace Women’s Aid. The staff member will lead on the development of a child and family-centred approach to work in the refuge. In so doing, they will:

• Develop and deliver a range of trauma-informed services to children and young people (0-17 years) and their mothers within the refuge and when they are resettled into the community.
• Ensure ongoing development of age-appropriate children’s activities.
• Ensure the completion of comprehensive assessments of family needs and risk of families, ensuring an integrated approach with children and adult services (internal and external)
• Promote ‘Integrated Working’ through internal and external mechanisms in partnership with colleagues and community partnerships.
• Coordinate the delivery of activities through session staff, volunteers, and student placements.

About You

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience of working with vulnerable children, young people, and/or families, as well as knowledge of the effects that domestic abuse can have on young people.

You will be familiar with Assessment, Action Planning, and Evaluation for families, with experience in maintaining records. You will also have the ability to work on your own initiative, as well as in partnership with other agencies or professionals, to promote family/child wellbeing.

Our Recovery Lounges offer a safe, welcoming and non-judgmental environment outside of normal working hours for those who feel in mental distress or crisis. The role will be part of a larger Recovery Lounge team made up of Mental Health Recovery Workers, Peer Support Workers and volunteers.

To support individuals to deescalate mental health crisis and improve mental health and wellbeing of patients in hospital. Promote Mind BLMK services through focussed 1:1s and structured crisis interventions.

Recovery Navigators (Mental Health) – Intensive Community Rehabilitation Service x 2 

Location: Birmingham, Small Heath 

Salary: £24,570 per annum 

37.5 hours per week – flexible shift patterns to include weekend and evening working. Part time roles will be considered

We have been able to diversify our services over recent years resulting in our offer to the citizens of Birmingham being expanded to include prevention and community-based asset services, crisis intervention, a Birmingham and Solihull wide Mental health Helpline as well as workplace wellbeing support.

There are two Recovery Navigator roles available, within two teams. Please specify within your application which role you are applying for.

Out of Trust Team: You will be working as part of a brand-new, clinically led Out of Trust Team within the Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust (BSMHFT). Although employed and managed by Birmingham Mind, you will be working as part of an integrated clinical team. You will be working with individuals who are currently admitted in independent out-of-area rehabilitation placements and repatriate them back to local services within the Trust or their local geographical areas. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, made up of medical and psychology professionals, local authority and housing experts. This role is not limited to the Birmingham area, and you will be expected to travel outside of this area. A full driving licence and the use of a vehicle is essential for this role.

Intensive Community Rehabilitation Team: You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary clinically led Intensive Community Rehabilitation Team within Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust and as such although the service manager employed by Birmingham Mind will be your line manager you will be working as part of an integrated clinical and psychology team. You will be working in partnership with people who are experiencing mental health difficulties who are currently living in their own accommodation within the Birmingham area and require a period of intensive rehabilitation. Your support of individuals will be a person-centred recovery approach that focuses on developing, maintaining, and strengthening individuals’ skills, abilities, and personal resilience.

Ideally you will be QCF/NVQ level 3 qualified or have a willingness to work towards this qualification. It is essential that you have an empathy for people experiencing mental health

issues and are committed to service user involvement and empowerment. You will have a good understanding of equal opportunities, confidentiality, safeguarding and health & safety.

You will need to be flexible due to the shift patterns which include evenings and weekends. Shift patterns include 9.00am - 5.00pm and 12.00pm to 8.00pm.

About The Role

In this role you will lead the development of our educational hub making use of our unique setting and offerings of animal husbandry, gardening and therapeutic activities to support the learning experience and personal and social development of children and young people and community groups particularly for those experiencing educational disadvantages.

Main Purpose of the Job

To design, deliver and manage a structured education programme to schools, alternative education settings, youth organisations, volunteers and our wider community. To engage with the local community by providing outdoor learning opportunities and promote environmental awareness. To increase the outreach of our educational opportunities of Vauxhall City Farm to schools and organisations in Lambeth and targeted London Boroughs and to maintain strong working relationships with schools and partners.

Main Responsibilities

Programme Leadership and Delivery

· Promote, deliver and staff a range of educational programmes at Vauxhall City Farm focusing on farming, animal care, food production, wellbeing, and environmental sustainability.

· Create engaging, accessible programmes in line with the National Curriculum, with a focus on reaching under-represented groups and people with additional needs.

· Lead the facilitation of inclusive, interactive and engaging workshops.

· Design and conduct formative and summative assessments to measure the impact of educational programmes.

· Use assessments, data and feedback to measure the impact of education programmes. Prepare reports for funders, trustees, and partners.

· Create high quality educational resources to support on-site and outreach learning.

· Work across teams to enhance the educational interpretation across The Farm to support learning for a wide audience.

Staff Management

· Recruit, train, support and supervise education staff and freelance workers.

· Foster a culture of continuous professional development and excellence in teaching practice.

Outreach and Stakeholder Engagement

· Design, develop and manage outreach programmes to schools and community organisations.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, educational institutions, and community groups in Lambeth and surrounding boroughs.

· Attend education-related meetings and forums, representing Vauxhall City Farm.

Administration and Operations

· Oversee the administration and logistics of all education programmes and outreach activities.

· Work with Senior Management Team to contribute to strategic direction.

· Develop and maintain systems to ensure efficient scheduling, delivery and tracking of all activities.

· Work closely with the Marketing team to promote educational programmes, events, and activities.

· Prepare and manage the Education budget.

· Identify relevant funding opportunities that align with the organisation's goals and projects, supporting the application and project development process.

Safeguarding and Compliance

· Ensure all activities follow Vauxhall City Farm’s policies and procedures, especially in relation to equal opportunities, health and safety, and child protection.

· Ensure that all safeguarding and health and safety requirements for visiting groups are met and maintained to a high standard.

Other Duties

· Foster a culture of organisation wide learning.

Person Specification

Essential:

· Proven experience as an educator (minimum of 2 years)

· Experience of working with the 8-18+ year age groups.

· Understanding of diversity and the varied needs of children/young people and families.

· Experience in planning, delivering and evaluating educational programmes for children and/or young people.

· Experience of leading workshops or informal education sessions in outdoor, farm, or community settings.

· Experience of managing or supervising staff, freelance workers or volunteers.

· Experience of developing partnerships with schools and community organisations.

· Experience with programme evaluation and using data to demonstrate impact.

· Experience of managing bookings, administration and logistics for public programmes.

· The ability to communicate effectively in written materials as well as presentations, workshops and public-facing activities.
