About the Role

As CEO, you will lead the strategic and operational development of the Society, with a particular focus on:

 •  Fundraising & income generation – developing and securing grants, donations, and earned income

 •  Team leadership – line managing a small staff team and supporting a wide network of volunteers

 •  Stakeholder engagement – acting as the public face of the Society and deepening key partnerships

 •  Strategic planning – creating a 3-year vision and business plan for long-term sustainability

 •  Programme oversight – ensuring delivery of existing and new conservation and community projects

About You

We’re looking for a resourceful, proactive leader who combines strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. You’ll need:

 •  Proven fundraising experience (grants, trusts, individuals, corporates)

 •  Leadership skills with experience managing staff and/or volunteers

 •  Confidence in managing budgets and business planning

 •  Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

 •  A genuine passion for the countryside, community engagement, and conservation

Experience with membership models, event programming, or working in a similar community/landscape context would be an advantage.

The post holder will work closely with the Head of Education and Development to support the delivery of BASHH’s broad programme of education and training. They will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the STI Foundation and will provide executive support for the STI Foundation Steering Group and BASHH’s Education Committee.

They will also support the BASHH membership function to ensure that BASHH meets the changing needs of our members and drives forward the agenda for better sexual health and HIV care for all.

Joining at an exciting time for BASHH, the post-holder will ensure the continued integrity and credibility of BASHH’s extensive education and training offering, playing a significant role in equipping our world-class genitourinary medicine workforce to build, adapt to and influence change at a national and global level.

About the role

Each year, thousands of people journey to South Georgia—tourists, scientists, filmmakers, yachts, and research vessels—all of whom require government permission to visit. As Visitor Manager, you’ll be at the heart of managing and improving that process.

Based in Stanley, Falkland Islands, you’ll oversee our visit permitting system, lead on visitor site strategy and briefings, embed our new Entry Control System, and shape the future of tourism policy. You’ll also work closely with our teams at King Edward Point, the Falklands, and beyond to ensure visits protect the islands’ unique biodiversity while supporting sustainable growth.

What you’ll be working on

• Managing visit permit assessments across multiple visitor types

• Leading implementation of our new electronic Entry Control System

• Acting as the main liaison with tour operators, the International Association of Antarctic Tour Operators (IAATO), and partner organisations

• Delivering port-call briefings, resources, and biosecurity guidance for operators

• Coordinating biosecurity measures and visitor site monitoring across the season

• Developing and delivering a 3–5 year visitor strategy for sustainable tourism

• Supporting response planning and incident readiness involving visitors

• Collaborating with stakeholders to improve systems and collect visitor feedback

You will possess the professional and personal credibility and strategic thinking to significantly help us to grow our charity’s funding from philanthropic sources. With a strong track record in building sustainable relationships with philanthropists, you will have direct experience of successfully soliciting 5-figure gifts.

Our successful candidate will be comfortable managing communications with a diverse portfolio of prospects and enjoy collaborating with colleagues to produce high quality and engaging proposals that inspire philanthropists to donate.  

This is a brand-new role, and you will join a team and organisation with big ambitions to expand our services and impact. You will work within a small but mighty team, with two Corporate Partnerships and one Trusts professional, reporting to the Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships.

• Experienced in securing 5 figure and above gifts from major donors, including both  existing and new sources.
• Committed to providing donor-centric communications and experiences, delivering consistently high-quality stewardship that will deepen donors’ connection to our cause.
• Have exceptional strategic, communication and influencing skills, able to present compelling ideas and proposals that lead to major donations. 
• Passionate about pets and our work to support them both through rehoming and in communities.

This is a full-time permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week on a hybrid basis with the expectation that our successful candidate will work from our Godmanchester site approximately 1 - 2 days a month or dependant on business need. The starting salary for this position will be £45,511 to £50,568 per annum depending on experience. This is complemented by;

• 36 days annual leave per year (inclusive of bank holidays) rising by 1 day each year to 40 days after five years

• Educate individuals and groups on efficient energy usage and budget management. 

• Support diverse communities with sensitive listening and questioning skills. 

• Research and apply for local solutions like food bank or fuel vouchers. 

• Promote the project at external events and deliver group education sessions. 

• Monitor advice inquiries to contribute to research and campaigns.

Would you like to manage a service that makes a positive difference to the lives of vulnerable older people and their carers? We have an exciting opportunity for a manager of our Day Care Service in Maldon. This is a part-time role offered as part of a job share arrangement. You will have experience of supporting people with dementia, whether gained in a professional capacity or as an informal carer. Management experience is preferred but not essential.

Maldon Day Care Service provides an opportunity for older people to mix socially in a safe environment and engage in stimulating activities with the support of trained staff and volunteers. A varied activity programme caters for a wide range of interests including quizzes, singing and gentle exercises, and a cooked lunch is also provided. Day Care also provides a vital respite break for family Carers. The role of Day Care Manager involves overall responsibility for the service, and management of experienced and dedicated staff and volunteers.

Action for Family Carers is a thriving charity which for over 30 years has been providing support for Adult Carers and Young Carers – people with unpaid, caring responsibilities for others.  We are a Carers Trust Network Partner and Trusted Charity.  We provide support, information, counselling, Young Carer clubs and respite care across Essex, working within schools, with GP practices and in a variety of community settings.

Responsibilities will include:

· Taking responsibility for day-to-day delivery of Day Care services

· Managing staff and volunteers

· Helping to promote the service locally through networks and forums

About the role 

You’ll play a key part in bringing our learning and development offer to life - designing and delivering creative, accessible learning that supports colleagues and volunteers to be their best.

Whether it’s coordinating onboarding, delivering workshops, developing digital content or supporting leadership development, you’ll work with teams across the charity to support their learning needs and enhance our peoples’ experience at Parkinson’s UK (both employees and volunteers). 

This work will equip our people to better support the ambition of our People & Culture and organisational Strategy.

What you’ll do:

• Support the design and delivery of engaging learning programmes, both in person and online for colleagues and volunteers

• Gather, collate and apply evaluation, feedback and insights on key areas of the team’s work

• Work closely with our incredible volunteers across the four nations to support their development 

• Build strong working relationships with subject matter experts in the charity to understand and meet evolving learning needs

• Collaborate with Volunteering and People & Culture colleagues to identify and deliver relevant learning opportunities and develop learning resources, processes and systems (e.g. LMS) 

What you’ll bring:

• Experience of designing and delivering impactful, inclusive learning initiatives for both colleagues and volunteers both in person and virtually

• Proven ability to work collaboratively, with the ability to build rapport and relationships with colleagues and volunteers at all levels 

• Strong verbal and written communication and facilitation skills - you’re confident engaging with and creating meaningful connections with a wide variety of audiences 

• An understanding of the power of inclusive learning and an ability to reflect that when providing learning and development to colleagues and volunteers

• Experience of using data and insight to incorporate into learning initiatives or programmes

The Partnerships and Stewardship Manager will raise philanthropic income from new business and existing corporate partnerships to further innovative research, education, capital and student support and other UAL core priorities.

The role is based in the Development & Alumni Relations team at UAL which is responsible for the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of principal gifts, major gifts, trusts and foundations and corporate donors.

This is a hybrid role, based at UAL’s High Holborn site but will also include time spent at the Colleges. The role will give you the opportunity to work closely with colleagues in world-leading departments on a wide range of strategic funding propositions.

We are seeking individuals who are target-driven, with a passion for building meaningful philanthropic partnerships with companies. You'll be tenacious in your approach to income delivery and be able to articulate the case for support for investing in creative higher education.  Your natural ability to connect, engage, and motivate others around a shared vision will be key, as is your talent for identifying donor opportunities and translating them into long-term impact.

You will be working to realise the potential of a pipeline of prospects to elevate the impact of corporate philanthropy at UAL.  Alongside this you will be responsible for a supporter engagement programme to motivate existing corporate supporters and ultimately increase philanthropic income for the University.  Your success in our team will be supported by a solid track record of developing partnerships and securing new gifts.

Main duties and responsibilities

Leading PBE’s public events strategy and delivery

• Work with our Head of Communications and senior team to design and implement an events strategy as part of the communications and fundraising strategies.
• Event strategy and programme planning: drawing on expertise of PBE colleagues, trustees and relevant stakeholders to plan, market and deliver an engaging and innovative programme of online and in person events to budget and deadlines.
• Event design, delivery and follow-up: planning and managing operational delivery.
• Responsibility for logistics of events including guestlist development, speaker invitations and stewardship, ticketing, internal briefings, contractors, venue liaison, event marketing and follow up.
• Active communications with speakers and attendees before and after events to maximise impact.
• Stakeholder engagement with events: Researching and drawing on advice from colleagues on interesting, engaging and diverse speakers relevant to PBE’s strategy, and drawing on PBE’s research and analysis projects as well as the wider media landscape to actively identify opportunities and agendas for future events.
• Supporting the organisation of joint events with charities and social sector organisations, working as part of a small and dynamic communications team to maximise the impact and visibility of PBE’s projects and publications externally, and the organisation of private research roundtables.

Supporting development and income generation

• Work with the Director of Development to ensure our events programme supports PBE’s fundraising approach by engaging funders, helping to identify new business opportunities, and contributing to funding applications. 
• Working with the Development team to manage the design and delivery of fundraising and stewardship events including small private dinners, roundtables, panel sessions in person and online.
• Collaboration with the Development Director to identify mission-related commercial opportunities from our events, such as sponsorship.

Delivering effective communications

• Collaborate with wider communications team to deliver greater reach and impact for PBE through our multi-channel communications strategy.
• Support communications colleagues to create and deliver compelling digital communications to support our events programme
• Managing data, reporting and insight to improve our events: Maintenance of all records of activity in the CRM Salesforce, and liaison with the Head of Systems and our Operations Team to improve systems and processes.
• Perform additional duties as required to ensure the smooth running of PBE and the communications team.

About you

The role would suit candidates from an events agency or in-house events/communications background, able to work operationally and strategically, working with and advising senior staff internally and externally.

Candidates should be able to point to a strong track-record of creating and delivering events and stakeholder engagement, with sufficient experience to lead and co-ordinate a diverse programme of in person and online events to reach policymakers and the wider social sector.

Skills/Competencies

Ideal characteristics include:

• Event strategy, programme planning and operational delivery and management of in person and online events.
• Creativity, innovation and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, including strong writing and relationship building ability.
• Attention to detail and organisational skills, including managing budgets.

• Project management: ability to manage and oversee multiple simultaneous projects 
• Self-sufficiency and resilience to manage operational delivery of high-profile events and advise internal colleagues on strategy and positioning.
• Confident use of digital systems and software, able to pick up and adapt to use of different platforms and products including core applications and platforms, e.g. webinar technology, CRM (Salesforce), online booking applications, spreadsheets.
• Interest in social and economic policy issues and issues that impact the social sector.

Desirable characteristics include:

• Experience of and interest in the social sector or think tank sector 
• Experience in health and safety, GDPR and the legal aspect of events, such as risk assessments and charity tax. Familiarity with the Fundraising Regulator’s codes of practice
• Experience of WordPress and wider experience in Content Management Systems and content design.
• Experience of major donor and/or corporate relationship management.
