Founded in 1996, Railway Children has dedicated over a quarter of a century to developing outstanding practice and services for street connected children. With projects in the UK, India and Tanzania, we aim to reach these children as soon as they are in danger and intervene before an abuser can.  As we embark on our new strategy to 2030, we have ambitious plans to ensure no child is left behind.

THE ROLE

Working as part of a small finance team you will process Railway Children UK’s expenditure and income transactions accurately and in a timely manner, including being responsible for the purchasing cycle on the accounts system, and support with the processing of income on the fundraising database. You will engage with all departments to ensure that they are supported and gain an insight into all aspects of the organisation.

A highly motivated individual who takes pride in the accuracy of their work, you will be able to work to deadlines and take the initiative on solving problems. This is a varied role, and the ideal candidate will be able to manage their workload effectively whilst maintaining communications with all their stakeholders.

About the roles:

These roles offer flexibility for home and office working with travel to appointments to meet clients across London as required. You will work Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm with some evening and weekend working on occasion dependent upon client need.

As an Independent Victim Advocate you will provide high quality, holistic support to clients, including victims of sexual violence. You will need to be able to manage a demanding workload, travel to appointments with clients and to meet a range of conflicting deadlines.

JOB PURPOSE:

• To lead on the development of a healthy childhood programme for children and young people living in Sparkhill.
• To provide a range of activities for children, young people and their families which promote physical exercise and healthy eating.
• To promote the referral uptake from a range of services including the School Nurse Service, Family Hubs and GP practices.
• To monitor individual lifestyle assessments and to maintain an overview of the individual’s journey, including attendance, improvement of their lifestyle indicators etc. and capture case studies.
• Refer participants to health professionals, support providers or other agencies, reviewing the outcome to ensure their needs are met.
• Manage and monitor a caseload in line with the priorities set out in the programme including reviewing the effectiveness of the service.
• Ensure that safeguarding and wellbeing of all children and young people is adhered to.
• To ensure good relationships with parents and carers and professional partners.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Receive and manage referrals including self-referrals.

· Co-design personalised support to children, young people and their families referred onto the programme.

· Plan and deliver a range of physical activities suitable of the needs of children and their family’s including commissioning activities from partner services.

· Arrange and manage triage meetings with participants.

· Ensure all participants are registered onto the programme and lifestyle assessments are completed to support The Healthy Childhood Programme monitoring, evaluation and demonstration of impact.

· Provide continuity and co-ordinated support, remaining the point of contact throughout the participant’s journey with the healthy childhood programme.

· Build supportive relationships with participants, providing non-judgemental support, understanding diversity and lifestyle choices.

· Maintain good communication with participants at all times, providing them with clear written information on what has been agreed and the next steps to be taken in their journey.

· Support participants to identify the wider issues that have an impact on their health outcomes and wellbeing.

· Be a friendly source of information about healthy lifestyles and wellbeing.

· Where appropriate, introduce participants to community groups, activities and statutory services. Follow up to ensure they are happy, able to engage, included and receiving good support.

· Ensure all data, monitoring and evaluation is kept up to date and reported back as required.

· Adhere to data protection, confidentiality, information sharing protocols and provide monitoring information as required.

· Feedback on-going development, monitoring and evaluation of the programme highlighting any issues that need resolving.

· Provide regular reports detailing the progress of the service and updates as and when required.

• Put into practice the agreed policies and procedures of the organisation in order that legal, regulatory and quality standards are met.
• To work professionally as part of a team, participating in individual and team reflective youth work practice; supervision; appraisal; professional development; recording; reporting; and contributing to quality improvements as required.
• Maintain accurate and up to date records in line with data protection requirements and with respect to confidentiality at all times.
• To take part in regular reviews of the service, identify and overcome any barriers preventing people from accessing the service.

We are excited to be searching for a Men's Player Education and Welfare Officer to join us on a Casual basis. You will organise, facilitate and deliver an outstanding learning environment in all scheduled education sessions with England Development team players whilst they are on England international duty.

What You'll Do?

• Set up and organise all player education equipment for the duration of the camp or tournament.
• Print and organise all player education tasks ahead of each learning session.
• Ensure that all scheduled education sessions are delivered and supported whilst on camp, and to lead on this delivery.
• Provide flexible educational support, tailored to player's individual needs.
• Collate feedback and share with all education providers, club education staff, and parents / carers on player's progress, and where appropriate liaise with key stakeholders if required during the camp. Ensure that this feedback is completed within 2 days of the camp or tournament finishing.
• To be the designated Welfare Officer whilst on camp. Support the MDT to ensure that the player's welfare and safeguarding policy is upheld, with a focus on pastoral care throughout the camp duration.
• Work with the Team Manager and Head Coach to support supplementary organised activities i.e. life skills, cultural workshops, or educational visits.
• Attend at least one MDT planning meeting before each camp, and one MDT review meeting post-event to ensure appropriate handover and transfer of information from FA staff to event staff and vice versa.
• Support with off camp projects and stakeholder communication as required and directed.
• Respect the England team elite performance environment at all times.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties or additional tasks as directed by the Player Education Coordinator or other FA staff.
• Executes additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing can be maintained.
• As part of the FA's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone in football, every employee will be required to complete a DBS check. The level of the check required will be based on the activity of the specific job role and in line with legislation and government guidance.

What You'll Need?

Essentially for the role:

• Safeguarding and Welfare Expertise: A thorough understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures, including The FA's Safeguarding Children Policy and Procedures.
• Relevant Qualifications: Teaching Qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) is essential. Additional desirable qualifications include Elite Athlete Wellbeing course, Player Care equivalency, Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Certification.
• Experience in Welfare Roles: Prior experience in a welfare/pastoral position within a football or sports setting is essential.
• Understanding of Football Development Programmes: Knowledge of The Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) is desirable

Beneficial to also have:

• Education programmes: working knowledge of BTEC Sport Performance and Excellence, Sporting Excellence Professional (SEP) Apprenticeship Standard.
• Collaboration with Stakeholders: Proven ability to work collaboratively with coaches, parents, and external agencies to support player welfare and development.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities to effectively interact with players, staff, parents, and external partners. This includes the ability to present information clearly and handle confidential matters discreetly.
• Organisational Skills: Exceptional organisational abilities to manage multiple responsibilities, such as scheduling meetings, maintaining records, and coordinating educational initiatives.
• IT Proficiency: Competence in using standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and familiarity with databases or case management systems used for tracking player welfare and development.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to assess situations, evaluate risks, and make informed decisions to ensure the safety and well-being of players.

• To co-create potential future activities for the Springfield Project and beyond, developing action plans and funding proposals and testing new approaches

• To enable the voices of Springfield Project service users and other local residents to be heard and acted upon both within the Springfield Project and in the wider neighbourhood/ community

The available role
As our new Head of Finance, you’ll be a key member of the Business Development Team - managing a small team and ensuring they deliver a high quality service. You will work closely with the Executive Team and Board of Trustees, ensuring they have a clear understanding of the hospice’s financial position.

You’ll be joining a values-led, CQC Outstanding rated hospice at a pivotal moment in our journey. Together, we are strengthening and evolving our services to meet changing needs across Wigan and Leigh, while staying rooted in our mission: to promote and provide outstanding care, specialist support and information for people experiencing and affected by life-limiting illness, dying, and bereavement.

As Head of Finance, you will lead the hospice’s budgeting process and audit process, as well as producing regular management accounts, forecasts, statutory returns and investments. You will work with managers from across the hospice to help them to better understand their own budgets and you will play a vital role in improving efficiencies and managing costs.

The role is available 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 4.30pm (Friday 4pm finish), on a salary of £55,690 - £62,682 per annum. A hybrid approach to work, with the option to work from home 1–2days per week, depending on the needs of the service.

About the role:

This role is based Rotherham and is offered on a hybrid basis working from both the office and at home.

As a Independent Victim Advocate (IVA) you will be:

- Ensuring the provision of individual structured, tailored support plans, based on a holistic assessment of impact and risk, within the framework of VS's Service Model. You may make initial contact with victims of crime, explaining our services and assessing the impact of crime, or receive referrals from colleagues, in order to provide on-going support and case management.

You will need:

• To be a confident, compassionate & empathic person who can work well under pressure
• To be able to speak with people in a trauma informed way
• To be composed, empathic & able to quickly assess situations
• To live within South Yorkshire, or a reasonable distance from South Yorkshire, to allow you to fulfil the needs of our service and victims in line with our Outreach program
• To be a competent IT user, able to work on a case management system, access phone and online systems, email and Microsoft Office

The Vacancy

The Independent Monitoring Service is seeking to recruit professionals with experience of working with children and vulnerable adults to the role of Independent Visitor.

The role of Independent Visitors is to provide visiting services on behalf of NYAS which are consistent with the National Quality Standards for Children’s Homes, Residential Special School Standards, Welsh National Minimum Standards, Health and Social Care Standards Scotland and CQC regulations. The main duties are:

• To undertake monthly visits to identified homes in accordance with the requirements of the relevant NYAS manager.

These visits will be:

Regulation 44 visits to residential children’s homes, short breaks and secure units.

Regulation 25 visits to residential family centres.

Care Quality Commission visits to residential adult homes.

Care Inspectorate Wales regulation 8 visits to residential children’s homes.

RSS20 visits to residential special schools.

Health and social care standards Scotland residential children’s homes.

Monitoring visits to unregulated provision.

• To undertake all tasks as identified by the relevant NYAS manager, during the visits and thereafter, in order to fulfil all aspects of the role.
• To provide factual reports within set timescales as required by the relevant NYAS manager.

Candidates should have demonstrable knowledge and understanding of regulated services and their inspection frameworks and also knowledge of current legislation and statutory guidance relating to children, young people and adults at risk particularly those in residential care.

Candidates must have experience of working within a social or health care organisation, safeguarding and experience of managing complex relationships across a diverse field, e.g. OFSTED inspectors, social workers, residential care workers and registered managers, health care professionals.

Candidates should also possess a professional qualification in a related field, i.e. social work, residential care, health care professional, advocacy or youth work.

This is a self-employed position and you will be paid a sessional rate.

You will also be required to complete annual safeguarding and compliance including, Personal Safety, Data Protection, Information Security, Safeguarding and Equality and Diversity. You will be able to subscribe to an e-learning platform provided by NYAS. The platform will provide you with the opportunity to undertake a number of other professional courses that you can complete in your own time to maintain your own CPD. You can do this on the e-learning platform at a significantly reduced cost compared to undertaking each course individually with different providers.
