Chair of the Board-Unpaid

CASL is seeking a new Chair of the Board to lead the organisation through its next phase of strategic development following the retirement of the current Chair. The Chair of the Board Recruitment Pack provides further details about the organisation, the role and how to apply.

This appointment comes at an exciting time as we celebrate our 10th anniversary. Supporting a committed and values-led Board of Trustees to shape the charity for the future, you will also work closely with the CEO, providing support, challenge and strategic guidance, ensuring strong organisational performance and impact in order to achieve the best support for our clients.

In this role, you will help to lead a significant charity making a substantial impact in South Lincolnshire. You will work closely at Board level with our partner Citizens Advice organisations across Lincolnshire and with the wider Citizens Advice network nationally.

The role of Chair of the Board of CASL, is one of the most exciting roles in Lincolnshire as we provide such an essential service across an extensive geographical remit. Our services are available to everyone, so we are relevant to all, making the role hugely rewarding.

As Chair, you will join a well-known, respected charity, influence strategy, strengthen governance and contribute to meaningful change. This is an opportunity to share your expertise with other professional, dedicated trustees, build on your leadership and strategic skills, and ensure the positive development of a highly respected charity.

If you:

- have previous leadership, trustee or Board experience, ideally as Vice Chair or Chair
- are able to operate at Board level, and
- are confident in chairing and facilitating meetings, leading groups to reach consensus and using influencing skills to get results.
- have a demonstrable commitment to the values of Citizens Advice

Experience of governance, risk management and/or performance oversight, and previous involvement in an organisation with a similar social impact, would be advantageous.

With an annual turnover of over £1 million, we are a significant force for positive change in the area.

The time commitment would be 4 Board meetings and 4 committee meetings each year, one Board Away Day, 4 Lincolnshire wide Citizens Advice Board meetings and any other meetings that are required as Chair of the Board.
