Job description

We are looking to appoint a diligent Development Administrator to support the achievement of income generation targets through providing excellent administrative support to the Development Team.

Part-time - 21 hours per week Monday to Friday. Hours can be set by agreement and some flexibility on both sides is anticipated. The candidate may, on occasion, be required to work additional hours and on bank/public holidays. The Citizens Theatre have a TOIL procedure and time will be given in lieu.

This role is ideally suited to someone with good attention to detailexcellent verbal communication skills and the ability to support on writing and proof-reading communications and mailings. You should have excellent computer literacy and strong prioritising and time management skills.

The Development Team consists of 3.4 full-time equivalent posts, including the Director of Development, Development Manager, Development Executive and Development Administrator. The team depends upon timely administration and reporting, strong organisation, and adhering to strict fundraising rules and regulations to be effective and to grow income.

It is expected that this role will work most closely with Finance and the Box Office, but the full team work closely with colleagues across the company including the Executive Team, Box Office, Participate, Finance, Marketing and Production. You should be an effective team player with the ability to work alone and under your own initiative.

The Citizens Theatre is Glasgow’s major producing theatre and one of the leading theatre companies in the UK. We are currently in the final stages of a major development project, with an anticipated reopening in 2025. As a result the team is currently hybrid working, although we expect to return to office-based working once the building is reopened. The company also has a Flexible Working Policy in place.

The Development Team currently raises between £350,000 and £500,000 per annum. It is anticipated that this number will grow significantly in the next three to five years. We are looking for a candidate with strong prioritising and time management skills as well as personal drive to succeed and achieve objectives.
