Over the past 5 years, Outrage + Optimism has experienced consistent growth amongst and loyal and engaged audience, many of whom use what they hear on the podcast to drive change in their respective communities. In our most recent Listener Survey, the majority of listeners surveyed reported that they had taken some kind of action as a result of listening to our content over the past 2 years.

About You

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Producer, with strong climate credentials, to lead our small, dedicated production team. As the Executive Producer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the editorial direction in close collaboration with the hosts; oversee the production process end-to-end, including acting as Producer on episodes; and ensure the podcast maintains its high standards of quality and impact. Working closely with the hosts, content creators, and other stakeholders, you will drive the strategic vision of the podcast and spearhead efforts to grow its audience and influence.

Given the size of the team, this is a hands-on role, combining storytelling and editorial excellence, alongside strong climate knowledge and a commitment to driving action and impact.

This Role

Title: Executive Producer, Outrage + Optimism

Responsibilities

• Responsibilities:

  1. Content Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy aligned with the podcast's mission and objectives. Stay informed about global issues, emerging trends, and audience preferences to ensure relevance and timeliness of content.
  2. Production Oversight: Manage all aspects of podcast production (weekly and deep dive episodes), including planning, scheduling, recording, editing, and distribution. Coordinate with hosts, guests, and production team members to ensure smooth and efficient workflows.
  3. Creative Direction: Provide creative leadership and direction to ensure each episode delivers compelling storytelling, insightful analysis, and engaging conversations. Foster a collaborative and innovative environment that encourages experimentation,  creativity and a culture of learning in public.
  4. Audience Engagement: Develop strategies to grow and engage the podcast audience across various platforms, including social media, email newsletters, and live events. Monitor audience feedback and analytics to inform content decisions and optimize performance.
  5. Climate Knowledge and Network: Identify themes and topics for future episodes and series. Develop guest strategy, ensuring the podcast is representing a diverse range of voices and viewpoints
  6. Partnerships and Collaborations: Identify and pursue opportunities for strategic partnerships, collaborations, and sponsorships to expand the podcast's reach and revenue potential. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the media industry.
  7. Budget Management: Manage the podcast budget effectively, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to support production needs and strategic initiatives.
  8. Editorial judgement: Assess editorial risks across individual episodes, topics or series, working with colleagues and external resources (e.g. research, legal) when needed
  9. Quality Control: Maintain high standards of quality and professionalism across all aspects of production, including audio production, storytelling, and content accuracy. Conduct regular reviews and evaluations to identify areas for improvement.
  10. Funder Relationships: Attend meetings and co-produce regular reports for our philanthropic funders, in addition to collaborating on new fundraising initiatives.

Skills and Experience

Essential

• Proven experience as an executive producer or senior producer in the podcasting or broadcast media industry.
• Strong editorial judgment and storytelling skills, with a keen understanding of narrative structure and audience engagement.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Adaptable and calm under pressure, with the ability to be responsive and reactive to internal and external changes .

In this varied and fast-paced role, you will be responsible for developing relationships with key media outlets and influencers to raise awareness of cystic fibrosis, the issues faced by people with the condition and Cystic Fibrosis Trust across the UK. You will also support the delivery of the Trust’s internal communications activity and support the Events and Celebrity Liaison Manager in managing the Trust's external events programme and cultivating and retaining key celebrity supporters and influencers.

As a member of the Communications Team, you will help develop external and internal communications on our research portfolio, policy and campaigning work and fundraising initiatives. You will also proactively monitor and look for opportunities for timely responses to the news agenda on social media.

With a fantastic nose for a story, you will have outstanding writing skills and be able to turn complex issues into compelling stories to pitch to journalists and to share with staff. You will be aware of the UK’s charity, healthcare, and policy landscape and have a keen eye on the news agenda, keeping abreast of developing trends and spotting opportunities to pitch comment pieces and reactive statements.

About CoppaFeel!

CoppaFeel! is the UK’s only breast cancer charity awareness charity for young people. Our mission is to ensure all breast cancers are diagnosed early and accurately by educating young people on the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, encouraging them to check and empowering them to speak to their GP if they notice something unusual. 

Key Responsibilities

• Integral to growing brand awareness of CoppaFeel! amongst 18 - 24 year olds by repositioning CoppaFeel! as a youth charity brand that resonates with our Gen Z target audience and is future proofed for Gen Alpha. 
• Build out audience insights, audience segmentation and campaign targeting.
• Oversee all marketing outputs and plans related to paid media owning the execution and tracking. 
• Write briefs and manage timelines for design, social and external agencies.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated individual, who has a flexible attitude to lead on our Welsh language service within the Fund.

The Fund is a truly bilingual organisation. Our principle is to treat the Welsh and English languages equally by offering a bilingual service to our customers and grant holders on a day-to-day basis.

The role is essential to ensure that the Fund fulfils its statutory legal requirements to comply with the Welsh Language Standards under the Welsh Language (Wales) Measure 2011.

You will be the Fund's first point of contact for internal and external enquiries relating to the Welsh language and you will maintain an effective relationship with the Welsh Language Commissioners Office and with Welsh organisations. You will be part of the Fund's Communications Team and will work closely with our Translator to support our internal translation process.

The post holder will work independently to provide specialist leadership and support to teams within the UK to secure our provision of bilingual services.

The ability to speak and write in Welsh fluently and confidently is essential for this post.

About the role

At a time of growth and of new opportunities for the Motability Foundation, we are looking for a Public Affairs Manager to join our Communications Team and lead our Public Affairs activity for the organisation.

Our vision is to fund, support, research, and innovate, so all disabled people can make the journeys they choose. There are an estimated 16 million disabled people in the UK, and this role will play a crucial part in our work to raise awareness of the work of the Motability Foundation, amplify the voices of disabled people and to influence policy.

·This new role will work alongside our new Evidence and Policy Manager, based in our Innovation team, and other colleagues across the organization as well as key partners (Motability Operations), to manage our horizon scanning and monitoring of the political landscape, leading on advising our Governors, CEO and senior management team on actions we need to take, and preparing detailed briefings for engagements, and events with Parliamentarians and senior Ministers. The role holder will develop, implement and lead our Public Affairs and Government Engagement Plan, and proactively identify and develop opportunities to influence and shape policy where it may have a positive impact for disabled people.

With a General Election and potential welfare reform on the horizon, this role is especially important and experience in creating and implementing post-election public affairs strategies, leading activities across the team and devising and managing structured results reporting to the organisation, is highly desirable.

 

What you will be doing

• Develop, implement and manage our public affairs strategy, leading on public affairs activities aligned with the Motability Foundation’s vision and overall strategy.
• Amplify the Motability Foundation’s voice in Parliament, across the devolved nations, and in political spheres, building, developing and managing relationships with parliamentarians, decision-makers and stakeholders.
• Manage our horizon scanning and monitoring of the political, legislative and regulatory landscape in relation to the work of the Motability Foundation, leading on advising the business on actions we need to take.
• Provide sharp political intelligence, insight, advice and briefings for Governors, directors, senior management and a variety of audiences across the organization.
• Support the establishment of the Motability Foundation’s policy positions and delivering our influencing objectives.
• Manage a contact program for Parliamentarians, raising awareness of the work of the Motability Foundation, establishing regular meetings for senior leaders where relevant, and facilitating dialogue on issues relevant to our work.
• Working closely with the Evidence and Policy Manager to manage the dissemination of any policy output for presentation to the external world.

Your experience

Must haves:

• Strong grasp of parliamentary processes in Westminster, Scotland and the other devolved nations.

This exciting new role involves all aspects of the communications mix, provides a platform to get stuck into hands-on digital and traditional marketing work and will help to deliver compelling and consistent communications across our channels.

• Organise online and in-person, internal and external meetings and other events, including booking venues and refreshments, assisting with the production of materials, liaising with participants and speakers, fulfilling mailings and taking bookings as required.
• Keep up to date with the directorate’s activities in order to provide clear, accurate information, and support the process of business performance and impact reporting. 
• Respond to general enquiries in a timely and friendly  fashion, ensuring needs are met, and participate in working groups, meetings, local events or activities as required.
• Maintain digital records on the charity’s data platforms.

About the role 

You’ll provide high quality admin support to the South West team, coordinate, plan and prep key meetings, and provide first point contact for both internal and external stakeholders. Including working co-productively with people living with Parkinson’s.

As members of the Community Directorate we aim to reach out to and support people with Parkinson’s, their families, friends and carers.  We enable the voice of people affected by Parkinson’s to be heard to improve services, inform our priorities and improve decision making locally.

Through community development we work in close collaboration with our respective Parkinson’s communities to bring change on the issues that matter most to people affected by Parkinson’s.

What you’ll do:

• Organise online and in-person, internal and external meetings and other events, including booking venues and refreshments, assisting with the production of materials, liaising with participants and speakers, fulfilling mailings and taking bookings as required.
• Keep up to date with the directorate’s activities in order to provide clear, accurate information, and support the process of business performance and impact reporting. 
• Respond to general enquiries in a timely and friendly  fashion, ensuring needs are met, and participate in working groups, meetings, local events or activities as required.
• Maintain digital records on the charity’s data platforms.

What you’ll bring:

• Excellent administration skills, including note-taking, presentation preparation and a positive, assertive and resilient approach to prioritising and juggling varying pressures and conflicting priorities. 
• Experience in coordinating multiple projects simultaneously that meet the business requirements. 
• Experience of developing and maintaining effective working relationships with all stakeholders. 
• Experience of operating in a modern digital workplace, including using digital tools to work collaboratively and productively. 
• Ability to work flexibly and from home with some travel and the occasional overnight stay.

About this key role

Our successful candidate will work collaboratively with senior management to contribute to the implementation of the new income generation strategy – focusing specifically on retention and developing our unrestricted voluntary income from a range of funding streams.  You will diversify and improve the ways in which we generate unrestricted income from individual giving through proactive, innovative ideas, plus develop and design high-quality appeals, presentations and pitches to garner wider national support and brand awareness for St Giles.

We will rely on you to provide excellent stewardship to existing donors, including writing reports, planning and hosting visits for key stakeholders that inspire them to continue to support St Giles, while also providing support to the Head of Voluntary Fundraising & Fundraising Manager with reports, due diligence procedures and applications where necessary.  Organising a small number of fundraising events per year and providing line management, supervision and coaching to a Fundraising Assistant is also a key element of this role.

What we are looking for

• A minimum of one year’s experience working in a charity fundraising environment

• Expert knowledge of the fundraising landscape

• Outstanding relationship-building skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels

• Excellent written and communication skills, with a proven ability to write compelling and informative copy for reports, applications and external communications

• Experience working with a CRM or fundraising database, preferably ETapestry 

• A flexible, collaborative and professional approach to your work.

We are looking for a Parliamentary Officer to support the management and administration of the Christians in Parliament All Party Parliamentary Group (CiP) as part of a team of three staff.  

CiP exists to support all Members and staff in their work in Parliament, commending the relevance of the Christian faith to personal and political life. 

This is a full-time role, but there is potential to discuss flexible working options.

Based in the Houses of Parliament, your work will include:

· Administering our events programme including weekly chapel services, guest speaker events, staff prayer meetings and Bible study groups   

· Planning and supporting the delivery of the National Parliamentary Prayer Breakfast, a major annual Parliamentary event 

· Managing & co-ordinating CiP’s communication including maintaining the CiP website

· Potential for developing outreach and discipleship opportunities with staff, depending on experience and interests
