Role purpose
Compass is a service designed to support adults (18 years and over) in H&F and Hounslow. The service provides support with welfare benefits, debt, housing and well-being/peer support groups/workshops.
The role of the Information and Advice Worker will be to provide advice, guidance and customer representation to H&F and Hounslow residents living with mental health problems. Advice issues may include, housing, benefits, council tax, debt, signposting etc.
The successful candidate will deliver support to enquirers and manage a caseload of individuals as agreed with the project manager. In addition to advice casework, the Advice Worker will also be expected to assist onboarding referrals to the service when needed.
The successful candidate will be required to work alongside other caseworkers and volunteers supporting on the project and report to the project manager.
The Advice Worker will be required to work within the Advice Quality Standard framework (AQS), and adhere to Mind’s policies and procedures.
Due to the nature of the work, if successful, you will need to have an up-to-date DBS check completed prior to undertaking unsupervised client work.
Place of work
The Advice Worker will be required to work both from home and the Ealing, H&F and Hounslow office when necessary, alongside work in the community.

About the role
The GROW trainee will be primarily working alongside Senior Support Workers within the Home at Last Project (HALT) to improve support and outcomes for people experiencing rough sleeping who have drug and alcohol dependence needs. You will also work with other professionals from across the housing, health and social care sectors to help people experiencing multiple disadvantage to build resilience and develop independent living skills. The role will involve helping people to settle and stay in accommodation, help build independent living skills, support to people to access services and appointments. The GROW trainee programme includes opportunities to get involved in developing services in Sheffield and across Shelter at a national level, using your experiences to influence our local strategic aims.
About you
We are looking for people who have experience of overcoming personal challenges and barriers and who are passionate about using their own life experiences to help make positive change for others. Good communication skills and the ability to make people feel heard will also be essential. Basic computer skills, e.g. word processing, the internet and email would be useful, but support can be provided. Above all, we need people with a real desire to develop personally and learn new skills.

Impact monitoring plays a key role in conservation management — to ensure effective delivery of projects — and is something that donors are increasingly interested in seeing. This internship will provide an opportunity for someone at the start of their conservation career to gain experience in the design, development and implementation of robust project Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEL) processes, developing skills in data handling and management essential for assessing impact of project activities.
This internship will support current work to design and deliver MEL at the project level and across the Africa programme portfolio, by helping to support establishing systems and processes that enable the analysis and presentation of data gathered as part of Fauna & Flora’s work in Uganda.
As part of our work in Uganda, members of the community have been collecting data on chimpanzee sightings, threats and human-wildlife conflict. However, the systems and methods used to collect this data have changed over time, making comparing data between years and identifying conservation impact achieved challenging. This inconsistency in data management is a challenge faced across Fauna & Flora that we are seeking to address.
During this internship, you will work with the Uganda team, who have been working alongside partners to conserve chimpanzees in a human-dominated landscape since 2014, and the Conservation Design & Impact (CDI) team, who aim to support and increase biodiversity conservation impact across Fauna & Flora’s global portfolio and the communities and partners with whom we work. Working with both teams, you will help ensure that community-gathered chimpanzee datasets are utilised to their full potential to maximise impact of the project. You will focus on cleaning, analysing and presenting existing data, as well as ensuring that future data collection systems allow for updated analysis to be conducted quickly and easily. You will work closely with the Uganda Team to ensure that anything developed fits their current and future needs but learnings from your work will also be applied to other Fauna & Flora projects.
You will learn about the importance of impact monitoring to conservation projects, as well as specific technical skills in data analysis and presentation, in particular, geographic information system (GIS) skills. You will learn about chimpanzee conservation, particularly the issues facing the species in a subsistence farming-dominated landscape. Finally, you will learn how a busy international NGO works, and have the opportunity to build networks in the sector.
Note that this internship has been designed to create a professional development opportunity for people who are new to the conservation sector. Therefore, applicants should have less than two years paid or unpaid experience in the conservation sector (not including academic work).

They will combine their lived experience of overcoming similar barriers to the client group and their professional experience to provide crucial guidance, support, and mentorship to children and young people who are being, or at high risk of being exploited.
Through 1:1 mentoring, you will ensure children and young people are equipped to think critically, assess risk, and make better life choices. You will also support them to overcome personal challenges and achieve personal goals. The resulting mindset shift and confidence makes them more resilient to the risks of becoming involved with substance misuse and/or supply; gangs; exploitation and violence.

About this key role
As our Accommodation Adviser, you will complete an Initial Needs Assessment (INA) with each service user using a strength-based approached within agreed contractual timeframes, before assessing need and risk, alert to changes that could indicate change in risk or serious harm, including personal safety and safeguarding.

Aquarius is a charity that helps people and communities overcome the harm caused by alcohol, drugs and gambling. Right now, we’re looking for someone like you to join our NGAGE Young People’s Service in Northampton. NGAGE is an early intervention drug and alcohol service for young people aged 10-18 and we provide information, education, advice and support to young people in relation to drug and alcohol use.
Your challenge? To provide advice, assessments, brief and structured interventions and group programmes. As a Practitioner, you will be the initial contact for referrals into the service, conducting assessments via telephone, face to face and offering relevant and appropriate advice, harm minimisation, family interventions risk assessment and management, actioning onward referrals to partner agencies. You will also be required to manage a caseload.
An energetic and confident self-starter, you have a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies). Alternatively, we’ll consider candidates with experience of working in the substance misuse field with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care. Using the Macmillan Electronic Holistic Needs Assessment to support Cancer Care Reviews will ensure patients have access to the right support for all their non-clinical needs. The post will also work on the preventative agenda, supporting uptake of cancer screening across the PCNs and supporting the practices within the PCNs to deliver their improvement plan around early diagnosis of cancer. York Minster Fund is the lead fundraising partner for York Minster. We are an independent organisation, with a separate board of Trustees, who work closely with colleagues across the Cathedral to secure income for a number of much needed projects and programmes of work. Established in 1967, as an emergency response to an urgent restoration project, we secure funds from charitable foundations, major and corporate donors, legacy donors, individuals and events.
Our funds provide much needed income for a wide range of projects, including the fabric and repair of the iconic Minster itself, the training of apprentices in traditional heritage crafts and strategic initiatives such as the realisation of the Minster's new international Centre of Excellence for Heritage Skills and Estate Management.
In the last year we have built on existing strong fundraising relationships and techniques to explore new ways of engaging donors and digital audiences and this is an exciting time to join the Fund as we move forward on a number of major projects. As a young person's functional skills tutor, you will be supporting young people, who have not been in mainstream education for some time, build their knowledge and gain achievements.
Job Title: Young Person’s Functional Skills Tutor
Reporting to: Project manager
Salary: £25000 per annum (Pro Rata)
Location: Scarborough, classroom based.
Client Contact:
· Complete a personalised journey of action plans and goals with each young person.
· Complete initial assessments & prepare Individual Learning Plans
· Support young people to achieve Functional Skills Maths & English from entry level 1 upto and including level 2.
· Prepare & arrange sessions in line with client needs.
· Encourage young people to prepare for success and achievement of goals.
· Undertake interviews to engage new young people onto the service.
Admin
· Complete monthly reviews with each young person.
· Ensure all client files are complete in line with company & contractual requirements
· Create files as and when required
· Update and maintain Podio with client details
General
· Work towards contractual profiles for number of clients on board and progressions
· Update social media with news, activities, and achievements on a weekly basis.
· Assist other staff as and when required
Skills & Qualities
· Must have relevant experience of working with disengaged young people
· Experience of delivering functional skills is essential.
· Empathy towards the issues young people face will be crucial for this role
· A team worker is required to be part of the project
· A DBS will be required (paid for by Futureworks)
· Candidate must be organised and self-motivated to work toward project targets.

Overview / purpose of the role
We’re looking for a Finance & Operations Assistant who is interested in developing a career in bookkeeping and/or accountancy within the nonprofit sector. No previous experience is required, just lots of passion and a motivation to pursue a long-term career in charity finance. The successful candidate will undertake training with the AAT (funded by us) towards a bookkeeping qualification alongside working as our Finance & Operations Assistant, you will be given some time to study during your working hours for this qualification.
The Finance & Operations Assistant is a central resource within CGP, working with colleagues in the Operations Team, and across the organisation to provide financial and operational support to all areas of our work. They will work closely with the Head of Operations & Evaluation to process invoices, expenses and conduct weekly payment runs, ensuring that all financial policies and procedures are carefully adhered to. They will also support colleagues to follow our financial policies and processes and act as the first point of contact for any questions on these procedures. Additionally, they will provide general administrative and operational support to colleagues as outlined in the below job description.
We do not require the successful candidate to have any particular/specific formal qualifications, you may have just finished education or be looking for a change in career, what you will need is excellent attention to detail and a strong interest in developing a finance career with us.

Responsibilities
Finance
● Managing our accounts payable inbox, monitoring all incoming invoices and following up with team members on any missing information if required
● Processing and coding invoices in Xero accounting software ahead of weekly payment runs
● Checking that correct coding and approval procedures are followed for staff expenses in Soldo
● Conducting weekly payment runs via our online banking system
● Coordinating our monthly payroll processes (working with external providers)
● Working with the Head of Operations & Evaluation and Director of Finance to support the development of funding proposals
● Working with the Head of Operations & Evaluation and Director of Finance to support financial reporting on grants for external donors
● Supporting the Head of Operations & Evaluation and Director of Finance with general financial administration, record keeping and tracking budgets
● Provide training on expense and invoicing processes to new members of staff and generally acting as the first point of contact for all staff on any finance procedure questions (full training will be provided)
● Supporting the Senior Management Team (SMT) and our Director of Finance to develop the annual organisational budget and report against it quarterly
● Providing budgeting support as required for colleagues internally
Office Management & General Operational Support
● Acting as the key point of contact between CGP & our coworking office space (organising memberships, meeting room bookings, invoices, printing credits, equipment, internal events etc.)
● Organising post, stationery supplies and managing stocks of office equipment
● Maintain/organise our filing and cloud storage systems logically and efficiently, in a data protection compliant manner.
● Ad hoc IT support as required, including online troubleshooting and logging support requests with service providers when necessary.
● General administrative support to the CEO and Head of Operations & Evaluation
Human Resources
● Support with recruitment processes within CGP, including assisting members of the team to schedule and coordinate job interviews, contact candidates and file incoming applications.
● Working with the Head of Operations & Evaluation to organise internal events like team away days and staff team building activities.
Person specification
The right candidate is less likely to be defined by their qualifications and prior experience, but will be someone who meets the below criteria, and is ready to learn. They will have an aptitude for maths and finance, excellent attention to detail and a meticulous, methodical approach to work and troubleshooting.
We are looking for someone who:
● Has an interest in developing a career in the nonprofit finance sector and willing to commit to undertaking financial training
● Is broadly supportive of UK Aid
● Is an independent worker, self-starter who can take responsibility for projects through to completion
● Has excellent IT skills, proficient with MS Office programmes (particularly Excel) and Google Workspace, and the ability to learn to use new software as required (for example, Xero, Soldo and Salesforce)
● Has great people skills, and the ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders
