The role

Does supporting entrepreneurship and engineering in the UK motivate you? If so, we’d love to hear from you. The Enterprise Hub (a Directorate within the Royal Academy of Engineering) supports engineering entrepreneurs, researchers and institutions all over the world. We are looking for a Programme Manager (PM) to support with managing the Shott Scale Up Accelerator, for a period of 12 months, while the current PM is seconded to a Senior Programme Manager role. This is our flagship ScaleUp Institute-endorsed programme, which supports engineering and technology entrepreneurs and business leaders, helping them improve their leadership capabilities while growing their businesses.

In this exciting and dynamic role, you will be expected to deploy your skills and expertise to deliver an excellent experience for the awardees. The role combines both outward-facing relationship management and ‘behind-the-scenes’ programme management. As you work with some of the innovative companies and the wider network of the Academy, including the Fellowship, you will have the opportunity to deepen your knowledge of technology commercialisation, investment, scaling, new markets entry and grant programme management. You will learn about tech and entrepreneurship trends, how to grow a company, and you will help our programme remain on track and evolve to remain best-in-class. Best of all, you’ll see the direct impact of your work on the lives of the entrepreneurs we support.

You will report to a Senior Programme Manager and will work alongside another Programme Manager to deliver the 12-month programme from initial planning and applicant pipeline management, to running the assessment process and managing the awardee experience. We would expect you to be well organised, personable, with great communication skills and an eye for detail. You will be a team player able to work with the wider team on events and bespoke projects to deliver outstanding support for the entrepreneurs and business leaders we work with.

BMS World Mission is looking for a Social Media and Email Communications Manager to join their Communications and Fundraising Department. BMS is a Christian mission organisation founded in 1792, today we are working in around 30 countries over four continents. We are passionate about making Jesus known across the world and transforming the lives of those we serve.

So, we're going to experiment. Definitely for nine months. Who knows, maybe it will work out longer but nine months seems like a good amount of time to grow a social media and email strategy from conception to being out in the wild.

We know enough to know what we don't know (and we've commissioned a detailed social media and email audit report to tell us the rest) and we dream plenty big enough to know there's so much more we could do. We just need to find the right person to be our experimenter-in-chief. Could it be you?

We are looking for a new member of the digital communications team to lead on managing the Academy’s social media channels and setting the standard for digital multimedia content across the Academy for up to 10 months.

The role

This is a key role in the digital communications team, with oversight of the Academy’s externally facing social media channels. As you further develop these channels and lead on the delivery of content through them, you will play an important part in positioning the Academy as a thought leader and engaging new and existing audiences with our work.

You will co-ordinate with colleagues across the directorate to ensure our social channels are used effectively. You will also provide expertise and guidance to colleagues, own systems and workflows, own and develop content templates, and ensure quality control for our social content. You will run social media campaigns and activity, writing excellent copy, creating high quality visuals and evaluating success.

As you will lead on the production of digital content for the Academy, you will continue to develop guidelines and documentation for colleagues and suppliers, who you will work with as needed. You’ll enjoy creating graphics and some video content too. You’ll report on analytics regularly for departmental performance metrics, and you’ll use insights and evaluations to continuously optimise outputs and performance.

The Communications Planning Manager leads the organisation’s internal and external communication planning and is the key partner and first point of contact for colleagues briefing in marketing and communication activities. 

You’ll lead the organisation’s internal and external communications planning, including an organisation wide communications calendar. You’ll work with colleagues to define their goals, understand their audiences, develop a great communications brief and then help deliver their campaign by coordinating resources and expertise from across the Marketing and Communications team. About the Role

This role will provide senior marketing leadership to the Acquisition Squad. Working closely with the Head of Acquisition, you will lead the planning and delivery of our effective acquisition programme, to deliver growth in our Individual Giving supporter base and income.

You'll lead the development of multi-channel marketing campaigns. Working collaboratively with our partner agencies, you'll have accountability for delivery across the full range of Individual Giving channels (e.g., DRTV, PPC, Paid Social, Display, Offline, Telemarketing).

Working within a multi-disciplinary team, you'll build strong relationships to collaboratively achieve targets, in a fast-moving and dynamic environment. Leveraging agile principles, you'll adapt plans as needed – learning rapidly and responding to change, while keeping our supporters at the heart of everything you do.

In this role, you will: 

• Lead marketing planning and delivery as part of a multi-disciplinary team to acquire new supporters – using insight and data to understand our audiences needs and motivations to build long term relationships
• Work with the Head of Acquisition to ensure the Regular Giving and Single Giving income targets are achieved
• Lead on the development of multi-channel marketing plans, with a focus on audience, to drive ambitious targets across supporter acquisition and lead generation campaigns

Drive a test and learn approach to improve all of our outputs and ensuring learnings are effectively shared across the department, and recommendations implemented

To be successful, it is important that you have:

• Significant experience in marketing including developing complex and integrated multi-channel marketing plans
• Extensive experience in Individual Giving acquisition programmes, including developing audience led marketing campaigns to acquire new regular giving donors
• Outstanding project management skills and experience with a proven ability to plan and manage activity that delivers complex projects on time and to budget
• Experience of effectively managing external partners, including knowledge and experience of working with media agencies to plan, buy and optimise paid media, creative agencies, telemarketing and fulfilment agencies
• Experience of developing fundraising and / or marketing assets to drive engagement and action
• Experience of developing engaging supporter journeys across channels to deepen engagement with supporters and drive further action
• Ability to provide technical leadership for the organisation in the delivery of marketing across channels including, DRTV, Paid Social, Display, PPC, Offline, Telemarketing and Email

We’re looking for a Head of Operations to support the ongoing growth and development of an exciting charitable organisation.

About the role:

We are seeking a Head of Operations to work with the CEO and senior leadership team to manage a broad scope of operational functions, including workplace governance, people management, digital support, data and risk management. The Head of Operations will be a collaborative and hands-on professional with project and people management skills, a track record of operational change management, and the ability to inspire colleagues in new ways of working that ensure the efficient day-to-day running of the Foundation - driving system, quality and process improvements.

Key areas of responsibility include:  

• Working with the CEO to deliver effective day-to-day operations for the organisation, managing the Operational Excellence Workstream and our approach to Quality.
• Oversee HR, culture and people function, including recruitment, retention, performance evaluation, employee learning & development, working with our external HR advisors when required.
• Promote a culture of equity, inclusion and collaboration, nurturing a positive and supportive environment for all.
• Embed cross-team working, building key relationships and highlighting synergies across our working practices to deliver efficiencies and improvements.
• Oversee compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, and ethical standards, ensuring all policies are current and regularly reviewed, including annual review by trustees (e.g. GDPR, Charities Commission) and manage our Complaints process.
• Lead on the management and implementation of safeguarding - ensuring appropriate policies, training and guidance are regularly reviewed.
• Support the CEO in maintaining strong governance and adherence to best practices in charity governance and reporting, including keeping the risk register up to date and progressing actions.
• Produce management reports for the CEO and Trustees as required, supporting the Annual Report & Accounts production and Board of Trustees administration.

Essential knowledge, skills & experience include:

• Previous experience in a Senior Operations management role, preferably in a charity or not-for-profit setting
• Strong leadership qualities to lead operations and fulfil an executive function
• Reliable with a high level of discretion and integrity – able to deal with sensitive and confidential matters
• Excellent IT and digital skills including Microsoft Office 365. Skilled in using workplace systems including Teams and SharePoint

This role involves coordinating administrative and support systems, procedures, and sub-teams essential for the management of the NTD portfolio.

Background

Sightsavers’ NTD directorate oversees projects funded by various donors to control and eliminate five PC-NTDs: onchocerciasis, lymphatic filariasis, trachoma, schistosomiasis, and soil-transmitted helminths in 28 countries. These projects are executed by country office teams, ministries of health, and partners, with operational and technical support from the NTD Department.

Principal Accountabilities 

• Oversee the creation and renewal of requested consultancy agreements with Human Resources, ensuring appropriate procedures are followed and records are kept updated.
• Manage the contractual organisation of the team of internationally located technical consultants and work with the relevant Global Disease Advisor to coordinate all aspects of support missions undertaken by the them 
• Ensure professional meeting support for all external NTD meetings with donors and international partners as requested by the NTD SMT.  This includes logistics, room bookings, agendas, slides, recording, virtual participation where required and minute documentation and distribution. 

• Assemble information as required for presentations, communications and reports, and manage internal document storage systems (Microsoft SharePoint and Teams). 

• Support the Grant Directors and IFT to compile key donor milestone reports and ensure a fully functional and accessible external ShareFile system for key donor groups where required

• Support communications both within the NTD Department team and with external stakeholders through dissemination of newsletters and maintaining contact lists. 

• Using all members of the admin team, coordinate the support for all regular internal PDU calls (recurring invites, agenda sharing and minute taking).

• Provide travel support to the SMT and Grant Directors where requested. 

• Manage/supervise NTD Dept Coordinator

• Undertake additional ad-hoc administrative duties as required.

What would you be doing?

• Develop strategies to achieve income targets across the areas outlined below 

• Ensure all fundraising initiatives are properly planned, delivered, monitored and evaluated.   All activities should be conducted in adherence to best practice, Cycle Sisters’ ethical policy and charity law. 

• Represent the organisation externally including networking, delivering presentations and speaking at events 

• Work with the Communications & Media Lead to create compelling fundraising messages and materials for a range of audiences 

• Work collaboratively with other team members in Cycle Sisters to maximise all opportunities for fundraising

• Oversee event/challenge fundraising, liaising closely with volunteer fundraisers to maximise income and ensure fundraisers feel valued and appreciated 

• Work with the Communications & Media Lead to ensure donors feel valued and appreciated 

• Develop and implement a regular giving strategy, helping us to progress donors from one-off to regular giving

• Work with the CEO to develop a “membership” scheme to generate regular income from Cycle Sisters’ participant network with incentives and benefits for members 

• Work with an external agency to secure income through digital fundraising 

Corporate Fundraising 

Working closely with the CEO: 

• Develop relationships with existing corporate partners, ensuring partners feel valued and are receiving regular updates

• Research and identify new corporate fundraising prospects.  Develop relationships through networking and representing Cycle Sisters externally.

• Create tailored packages to secure in-kind and financial support from corporate partners 

• Develop ideas for earned income services for corporate partners e.g. led rides

CAFOD, one of the 15 member agencies that make up the Disasters Emergency Committee, is the official aid agency of the Catholic Church in England and Wales and stands alongside vulnerable communities across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.

CAFOD is seeking a Governance Manager to temporarily support our Leadership & Governance team. Reporting directly to CAFOD’s Director and managing the Leadership & Governance Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring effective governance, strategic leadership, and strong Trustee relations during this interim period. This is a part-time position requiring two days of commitment per week for approximately six months.

Key Responsibilities

During the period of cover, some of the key responsibilities include:  

Governance & Strategic Leadership 

• Providing oversight of CAFOD’s Governance work & assisting in the further development and funding of CAFOD’s governance. 

• Identify emerging trends in governance and ensure that learning is reflected in CAFOD’s work and proposals. 

• Working with the relative department heads to advise the Leadership Team on the likely impact of new initiatives on CAFOD’s current strategy.

• With the Leadership and Governance Officer and L&G Assistant, to support the Director of CAFOD in managing the relationship between the Board of Trustees and Leadership Team.
