We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Development Manager to maintain and build on our successful track record in fundraising.

You will bring your experience of charity fundraising, ideally in theatre or the wider cultural sector, but this could come from a range of sectors. You will play a key role in supporting the organisation to deliver its vital advice and advocacy work for the UK’s theatres, to create exciting new programmes and to further grow our profile and reputation.

Reporting to the Director and working closely with all members of the staff team, including support from the Administrator (shared with three other managers), the Development Manager will lead on fundraising for the organisation. You will ensure we are able to maintain existing activities and grants programmes and support the development of exciting new activity strands to support and promote the UK’s vibrant network of theatres.

You will be joining at an exciting time as we deliver Theatres Fit for the Future, our new three-year strategy and as we transition to new leadership. You will also be supported by an excellent and engaged Board and Fundraising Committee. The role offers an opportunity to play a key role in supporting the three-year strategy and building on our successful fundraising track record.

The Prospect and Stakeholder Research Manager role sits within the Engagement Services team, part of the External Relations directorate. The Engagement Services team supports fundraising, and alumni and stakeholder engagement activities across the University.

This position is responsible for ensuring fundraisers are able to establish and develop strong personal relationships with prospective donors in order to generate significant levels of philanthropic financial support for the University’s teaching, learning and research priorities.  As the primary research professional they will enable high quality fundraising at various giving levels.

This position is also responsible for providing data sets and detailed research reports of alumni and stakeholders in support of targeted engagement and partnership-building initiatives, thus ensuring External Relations colleagues are able to achieve advocacy and volunteering goals and develop strong relationships with key contacts.

Stepping Stones exists to improve the lives of adults with learning disabilities. We are seeking an enthusiastic and agile manager who will be at the heart of the organisation and will lead a small team of qualified tutors and volunteers in continuing to provide high quality experiences for the people who attend. Stepping Stones is a community that loves to socialise and learn new skills together. Our current programme includes art, dance, drama and music, together with digital skills and cooking.

This role is responsible for strategic development with the guidance of the Board of Trustees, income generation, and the management of all aspects of service delivery. It is our intention to appoint a new post of Activity Co-ordinator to support the Charity Manager as budgets allow. You will play an active part in designing this role so that it enhances our delivery and increases capacity within the organisation.

Our experience during the pandemic and consequently, has shown us that being together in real life is an essential element of our offer to the people who attend Stepping Stones and so this post requires a physical presence preferably 3 days per week during the period when classes are running (30 weeks per year).  We are open in our approach to recruitment and are keen to support the right candidate to flourish. Whilst the role demands strategic thinking and planning, it also requires you to be visible and accessible. ABOUT THE CHARITY
Stepping Stones is a thriving, longstanding and highly valued community organisation. We have delivered activities for over 30 years and our weekly classes are an important part of the lives of people who attend.

Our main delivery is a timetable of up to 14 weekly classes from our base in a multipurpose community centre. We also have activities off site including gardening at a local allotment and music and art classes at a day centre and residential home. Each week over 100 people benefit from our activities.

Job Description – Operations Manager
IcFEM Dreamland Mission is a Christian charity set up to help fund and support the work of IcFEM in
Kenya. We had been running for almost 20 years with volunteers
running a home-based UK office. Three years ago we employed staff in the UK for the first time. We
currently have income of £350k- £400k a year depending on the projects running. IcFEM Kenya is a
locally run organisation based at Kimilili in Western Kenya. IcFEM Kenya runs community projects as
well as a school and hospital. The past five years has seen our work grow significantly, including the
school and hospital which have developed into large institutions that are valued by the community
in Kimilili and fit well into the local government set up.
We are looking for an individual who is ambitious to see our ministry grow and is experienced at
blending trust in God with human endeavour.
We are seeking an Operations Manager who has experience of the charity sector and is prepared to
be flexible and adaptable to the needs of this small charity. There is the potential for flexibility within
this role and we would be willing to discuss a variation in hours worked. Some occasional evening or
weekend work will be needed, and occasional travel to Kenya is an important part of the role,
particularly to build relationships with the Kenyan team.

Job description

Governance and legal compliance
➢ Review and keep updated UK policy and procedure documentation, writing new policies
where necessary to encompass latest regulations
➢ Regularly review the Safeguarding policy, and risk assessment, with the Trustee who leads
on safeguarding
➢ Work with the Treasurer and Secretary to ensure compliance and deadlines for Charity
Commission

As a Fundraiser, you will play a crucial role in generating financial support for CAN’s mission and programs. You will be responsible for developing and implementing fundraising strategies, cultivating relationships with donors and philanthropic organisations, and managing fundraising campaigns.

4. Grant Writing and Reporting:

• Research and identify potential grant opportunities from foundations, trusts, and government sources.
• Write grant proposals and applications, ensuring alignment with both CAN and funder priorities and requirements.
• Prepare regular reports for funders, providing updates on project progress and outcomes. Project managing the CAN Founders and Staff Team to ensure proper project kick offs, data gathering and sign offs.

The Charity

The Role
Work closely with the Head of Fundraising and Communications to implement donor segmentation, build on supporter stewardship and appeal strategies for mid-level and high value individuals.

Identify potential major donors and approach them for support in an appropriate and GDPR compliant manner.

Produce compelling written funding proposals, give verbal presentations and make face to face asks as part of donor solicitation.

Support with the creation and implementation of a legacy and in memory strategy.

The Candidate
Ability to think strategically to identify potential donors, prioritise efforts and develop effective fundraising strategies, including analysing data, assessing donor potential and adapting approaches based on feedback and results.

Proven experience of writing successful and compelling proposals and applications to Trusts and Foundations and securing multi year funding.

Experience of working across an organisation to develop fundraising bids and reports, ideally within a campaigning charity.

Demonstrable experience in strategic planning and budgeting.

Ability to undertake high quality research to identify potential trusts and foundation prospects.

• Lead on the delivery of all aspects of the Patron programme, in particular stewardship of Patrons and supporting the Head of Development in a strategic review of the programme.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• Significant experience in Individual Giving fundraising.
• Track record of success working with regular giving and Patrons (mid-level giving) programmes
• Experience of proactively managing a portfolio of prospects and donors through moves management.
• High level of proficiency working with standard business software including MS Office packages, and good experience of using CRMs in a fundraising context.
