About the role:

Kinship is in our third year of delivering the first national peer support service for kinship carers in England. We are looking for a new Associate Director of Peer Support and Community to build and develop our model and to take the team to the next phase of growth and impact.

Your first priority will be to oversee delivery of the Department for Education national Peer Support Service contract in England. You will lead the development of our hub and spoke model, with an enhanced offer of national resources and support together with a continued focus on on-the-ground support for kinship carers to set up and sustain a network of peer support groups. You will ensure all members of the team have clarity and are empowered to meet new targets and ways of working.

The role will also lead on the strategic development of peer support approaches in Wales (for which we are seeking funding), ensuring innovation and good practice is shared across the nations.

Kinship peer support groups are powerful levers for change in local, regional and national ecosystems. Your team will ensure that every kinship carer in England and Wales has access to a peer support group, or support to set up and create their own. The team will be purposeful about offering developmental support to all kinship peer support groups, including independent groups, ensuring they remain or become sustainable. And that they have resources, training and peer networks to support this.

Reflecting our strategic focus on developing our Kinship Community of more than 10,000 kinship carers across England and Wales, you will lead a new community strategy, co-ordinating the development of opportunities for community connection and community power. This will include taking leadership for developing the Kinship model of community engagement and integrating across all our ‘in person’ and digital services and activities.

You will ensure a collaborative approach with services, alignment with national and local campaigning activity, and work closely with marketing and communications colleagues to support kinship carer reach and engagement with our community offer.

We’re taking an integrated approach to our services, so you’ll collaborate well across teams to ensure that support groups and their leaders have easy access to high quality advice, information and training. The team will need to work closely with colleagues delivering our new training and support contract, funded by the Department for Education.

Key responsibilities include:

• Innovation of the Peer Support Service.

• Develop and rollout peer support and community strategy and operational plan. 

• Implement monitoring and evaluation and impact tools for timely and accurate reporting of activity and engagement.

• Work with the Development team to develop proposals for the community and peer support which are ready for fundraising and business development.

Essential requirements include:

• Substantial experience in scaling a national service or programme with high quality outputs. This includes overseeing delivery, strategic planning, budgeting, managing delivery, meeting KPIs, stakeholder engagement and reporting to funders.

• Experience of governance and managing risk on high profile service delivery.

• Experience of effective budget management.

• Significant experience of leading the development and delivery of peer support services.

Weston Hospicecare provides care to patients and families across North Somerset including Weston-super-Mare, Burnham on Sea, Clevedon and surrounding areas. You will be confident to travel across all three areas with an initial focus on activity in Clevedon and Weston-super-Mare and be happy to work in different locations as required.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Research and identify a pipeline of qualified prospective corporate donors who are headquartered in the UK/Europe and have the capacity and propensity to give at the six-figure level.  

Engage and cultivate new high value corporate/corporate foundation donors.

Work with the Director of Fundraising to plan cultivation events across 2024.

Identify a long list of UK/Europe headquartered corporate/corporate foundation prospects, with the propensity and capacity to support at the £100K+ level. Categorising those who can fund an specific project (£300k) and those who may be smaller in scale.

Shortlist and screen prospects to create a ‘priority pipeline’ of Corporate prospects whose interests align with organisational mission, and have the capacity to fund a specific project (£300k).

Identify contact details for all priority prospects, always aligning with GDPR.  

Support the Director of Fundraising with targeted outreach and making direct approaches, with the aim to secure an exploratory meeting.

Securing new meetings with 20+ new prospects.

As required, writing compelling proposals relevant to donor interests.

High level proposal submitted on possible cultivation / networking events that they should attend in 2024.

Weston Hospicecare is seeking a passionate and experienced fundraiser to lead our Individual Giving programmes. The Individual Giving & Lottery Manager will play a crucial role in maximising funding for Weston Hospicecare through individual giving, inspiring new donors and maximising opportunities with existing ones. You will lead on all campaigns and appeals and bring the incredible work of Weston Hospicecare to life using your fantastic story telling skills and using research and analysis to drive decision making.

We are seeking someone who can also maximise income through our mature lottery, working closely with our third-party Lottery company, and bring their existing skill set to this exciting area of growth. Experience in this area is welcome, as is someone who would relish the opportunity to expand upon their individual giving expertise and utilise their existing analytical skills to develop our lottery strategy.

Established in 1997, Jigsaw4u provide a range of services for children, young people and families experiencing complex social and emotional difficulties in South West London.  Jigsaw4u has experienced considerable growth and development over the past several years, and this new role has been identified by the Board of Trustees and Chief Executive Officer to support Jigsaw4u’s position and aspirations for the future.

As a member of our Senior Management Team (SMT), you will help to deliver and shape Jigsaw4u's vision and strategy. It will be your responsibility to ensure that Jigsaw4u’s services achieve their goals, meet their strategic objectives and achieve our growth targets while being delivered to Jigsaw4u’s exceptionally high standards.

Under the direction of the CEO, the postholder’s areas of responsibility will be to: 

• Line Manage the Service Managers, ensuring that their teams are high performing, reporting and data collection is of a high standard and relationships with funders and other stakeholders are outstanding.
• Ensure that the structure of all Jigsaw4u services are optimised to allow for growth and support staff and volunteers (including trainee counsellors/therapists) to develop key skills.
• Maintain knowledge and awareness of best practice within the charitable sector (and other sectors where relevant), to inform and update Jigsaw4u so that we take advantage of the latest approaches to change, innovation and development which can have a positive impact on children, young people and families affected by complex social and emotional difficulties.
• Work proactively and collaboratively to identify innovation and business improvement within the Service Management Team to define and agree Target Operating Models and oversee implementation and ongoing review.  Use insight, evaluation and analysis to continually inform and refine practice.
• Play a full part in the development of the SMT and deputise for the CEO as required.  Work closely with the Service Management Team to develop and deliver an outstanding approach to people management, building a learning culture that delivers high quality, extensive support enabling people to achieve their best as a team.
• Represent Jigsaw4u at formal meetings with funders and other stakeholders and through submission of reports and data requests.  Establish new, and strengthen existing, external relationships to promote Jigsaw4u’s profile, influence and reputation.
• Ensure compliance with relevant statutory and regulatory requirements, and adherence to relevant professional codes and standards of good practice.
• Support the CEO in funding and tender applications
• Support the CEO and fundraising team in generating income

As a member of the SMT you will be expected, with training and support, to take an active part in supporting the whole organisation.  Experience and aptitude to provide calm leadership and a supportive problem-solving approach to practical problems and judgements involving risk is necessary.

Job title - Events Fundraiser

Office Location – Wendover, Bucks.

Salary - Up to £30,000 (FTE)

Benefits – 25 days annual leave (FTE) + 8 statutory days. Workplace pension 5% employer contributions. Must be able to attend events and meetings across the UK, some of which will be outside of normal office hours. (Clean driving licence and own vehicle essential, mileage will be reimbursed).

Working Hours: 3 days a week (Hybrid, working with two days in the office each week) 

About the Role 

The Events Fundraiser will support the charity’s aim to provide all life-limited children, their families, and carers, within their hospice, emotional support through the power and pleasure of nature. The post holder will be responsible for generating income through the management of a range of fundraising events, as well as supporting individuals organising their own fundraising activities within their community and/or corporate environment. 

You will ensure efficient event management and administration as well as provide excellent supporter care. 

The Event Fundraiser will:

• Project manage a range of events, including planning, marketing, and supporter stewardship, through to event delivery and evaluation. 
• Effectively manage internal and external stakeholders to deliver and schedule events, on time, within budget, meeting fundraising goals. 
• Deliver exceptional supporter care to those who support the work of the charity. 
• Plan and deliver events, including logistics, briefing of stakeholders and volunteers, compiling risk assessments and any other tasks relevant to ensuring an excellent supporter experience. 
• Ensure the supporter database is accurate and up to date, as well as follow all relevant financial processes to ensure event income and expenditure are accurately recorded. 
• Report fortnightly to the Director of Fundraising & Communications on agreed fundraising targets and activity. 
• Be responsible for ensuring relevant community and events pages, news, and forms on the Greenfingers website are accurate and up to date. 
• Work collaboratively with the team.
• Carry out any other duties as may be reasonably required.
• Work in line with the Fundraising Regulator and Charity Commission guidelines, and other relevant codes of conduct.

Working as an integral part of the Fundraising & Communications Team, you will be:

• Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Able to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
• A great people person with good public speaking and presentation skills as well as strong networking skills.

Essential:

• Experience of excellent high-quality event planning and delivery. 
• Knowledge of the principles and methods of Community and Event Fundraising. 
• Demonstrable experience of growing events, in terms of both income and participant numbers.
• Experience in providing excellent levels of supporter care and building strong relationships. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
• Experience in managing third-party suppliers.
• Experience working to agreed budgets and deadlines. 
• An excellent networker, excited about working for the gardening industry’s favourite national charity.
• Experience of, or willingness to learn to use the Donorfy database. 
• Willingness to travel and attend events across the UK (some overnight stays may be required). 

Desirable:

• An understanding of the principles of relationship marketing and supporter care.
• Experience in volunteer management. 

Must possess a full driving license.
