The successful candidate will thrive on collaborative work, excel in presenting compelling narratives which inspire other fundraisers to do the same. An analytical mindset is essential, along with the ability to grasp facts and data to manage projects effectively. As a Trusts and Foundations Officer, you will play a central role in developing the charity's presence in the trust and foundations world and contribute to the creation and management of a high-quality pipeline of new trust and foundation opportunities.
You will gain experience working with a variety of trust funders and will work collaboratively with colleagues and teams from across the organisation on projects such as supporting the delivery of the Arts Council England reporting.
Your primary responsibilities will include identifying and cultivating relationships with potential trust supporters, developing compelling funding proposals, and providing exemplary stewardship to existing donors. You will be at the forefront of BookTrust's efforts to secure funding from trusts and foundations.
About you
We are seeking an ambitious fundraiser with experience of developing multiple four and five-figure funding relationships from trusts and foundations. You should be confident and outgoing with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You should be able to write with flair to develop compelling applications and reports and speak passionately and articulately about BookTrust's work to the staff and trustees of trusts and foundations.
The ideal candidate will be efficient, have a strong eye for detail, and have good time management skills. You should be able to work independently and as part of a team with common goals and have natural 'Fundraiser Detective Instincts' to spot funding opportunities and go above and beyond with stewardship.
Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to delivering work of the highest standard are crucial. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously, will be necessary for success in this role.

The post holder will also work closely with the HODAR to help inform the development of departmental strategies.
The successful candidate will have significant demonstrable and relevant experience of in memory and/or legacy fundraising and developing in memory products. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will use your passion for enabling impact locally and across the globe to be the leading voice and relationship-builder with new and existing funder partners. You will get to work with organisations such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Comic Relief, UBS Optimus Foundation and many other leading UK, US and international funders. You will also utilise your existing network to identify and win new business and strategic partnerships, by finding leads, nurturing relationships and closing contracts.
As Lightful expands their reach and impact, you will have ultimate responsibility to identify, develop and steward strategic relationships with a wide array of philanthropic funders, which will enable small charities and non-profits to become more resilient through digital skills, tools and training. Lightful’s approach is to build strong, long-lasting and impactful partnerships, which can be bilaterally or in cohorts of collaborative funding partners within specific geographies or around impact cause/theme areas. There is no limit to how partnerships can flourish at Lightful.
You will inspire the Partnerships team, be a collaborative member of Lightful’s senior leadership team and work closely with a highly passionate and engaged board of directors and colleagues across the Programme, Impact, Engineering, Design, Finance and People teams.
The successful candidate will have a varied set of skills and experiences, with strong commercial acumen and a deep knowledge of the philanthropic sector and a proven track record of developing plans and executing those plans to reach large revenue targets, ideally from an existing network within the sector.

Big Issue is a social enterprise and B-corp business, with over 30 years of experience supporting the most marginalised in society to earn an income through selling the magazine. Since 1991 they have supported over 100,000 vendors to earn an income of over £150 million.
This is a permanent role with hybrid working arrangements from their London offices. The salary for this position is £30,000 to £35,000 per annum.
The Individual Giving Officer will be responsible for raising unrestricted income from individuals by planning and executing the day-to-day campaigns to recruit, engage and retain supporters. This role is critical to income generation for their Big Issue Changing Lives Community Interest Company, which funds their frontline services that support individuals to improve their lives and earn an income from selling the Big Issue magazine or find sustainable employment through their recruitment service, Big Issue Recruit.
To be a successful candidate, you will have demonstrable experience of income generation from direct marketing campaigns (acquisition and/or retention) across a variety of offline and digital channels for acquisition and retention. You will also have experience of project management to deliver acquisition or retention campaigns within agreed timescales and budgets.
