As the Partnerships and Services Manager, you will report directly to the CEO and as such will be a member of the leadership team, to deliver Leaders in Community’s (LiC) work to empower young people and communities to improve quality of life and build a sustainable future in line with the Charity’s vision and mission. Working alongside the leadership team, you will oversee, and capacity build the services being delivered in our vibrant community centre, which is located in the historic East End of London.

Key Impact Areas

 Maximise Giving

You will implement a philanthropic giving strategy that significantly shifts the museums approach towards the generation of substantial philanthropic income and that supports the Museum's vision and mission. You will work collaboratively with the Executive, Board of Trustees and senior leadership team to establish a long-term plan and supporting fundraising strategies that align and help the museum move forward with its objectives.

 Cultivate and Steward Donors

You will actively cultivate and steward relationships with potential and existing donors, for major new, repeat and legacy gifts, significantly raising the profile of Beamish, generating excitement and a desire to support Beamish now and into the future across a range of projects.  These will be supported by stewardship plans that foster mutual trust to secure ongoing support. 

Reputation and Engagement

You will build the profile of the Museum through donor engagement.  You will personally manage a portfolio of prospective donors, guiding them through the cultivation process, and ultimately securing new funding. You will work closely with the CEO building new networks, opening new doors and linking with communities in support of the museum's philanthropic goals and furthering its reputation and that of the sector.

Successful Philanthropy Team

You will ensure a high performing team is in place that supports Beamish’s Philanthropic strategy, imbuing a culture of innovation and enterprise across the museum. The team will ensure day to day delivery of the function, including to trusts and grants, provide excellent customer service, and produce timely data to support and measure the impact of all giving.  The team will champion equality, diversity and sustainability and creating a strong culture of philanthropy throughout Beamish. 

Essential Qualities, Experience and Knowledge

• Significant experience working at a senior level, building strong relationships with supporters who can give at a six/seven figure level.
• Demonstrable extensive networks, including trusts and foundations, corporate partners and high net worth individuals.
• Personal track record of securing six figure donations from Trusts and Foundations
• An excellent communicator who can inspire staff, volunteers and colleagues in taking our philanthropic strategy forwards.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills including tact, sophistication and gravitas 
• ·Able to work collaboratively, engaging with colleagues to design robust project proposals and reporting, monitoring and evaluation systems
• Skilled in utilising financial information including project budgets
• A commitment to Beamish’s mission, objectives and guiding principles.
• Strong intellectual curiosity and the ability to articulate the museums range of programmes and strategies in a compelling way
• Tenacious, self-starter, who thrives in a fluid, entrepreneurial context

• Experience of managing successful partnerships with significant grant givers including The National Lottery Heritage Fund and Arts Council

Our client is the charity for the working animal of the world. Since 1923, working through a series of global projects and partnerships across 23 low-income countries, it has supported the welfare of working donkeys, horses, camels, oxen and other working animals in communities that depend on them for water, transport, agriculture, and their very survival.

As part of the charity’s ambitious strategic development plans, they are recruiting a Head of Philanthropy and Fundraising Partnerships. In this role, you will pro-actively lead the development of their Philanthropy and Fundraising Partnerships team as it seeks to acquire new charity partnerships and high value donors and build on their existing funding base. You will be comfortable with using a wide range of fundraising and marketing channels to acquire new funders, as well as steward existing donors.

Your key responsibilities include:

Philanthropy and fundraising partnerships programme management

- Lead on the development and operational delivery of the philanthropy and fundraising partnerships strategy, encompassing work across the high-value donor, legacies, trusts, and corporate fundraising income streams.
- Lead on maintaining our clients relationships with existing high-value donors and funders, through the provision of exemplary stewardship.
- Drive the development and testing of new means of acquiring high-value donors and funders for them, to deliver sustainable growth.
- Oversee the continued development and growth of their global legacy programme, including the production of legacy mailings, telemarketing, offline and digital advertising, and features, as well as correspondence with supporters, solicitors, and other stakeholders.
- Lead on work to develop our forecasting of annual legacy income with our legacy pipeline.
- Drive the development of their corporate fundraising programme, working with Global Programmes colleagues and partners based in the countries where they work.
- Work with colleagues to ensure new funding opportunities for high-value donors and funders are identified and actively pursued.
- Work with colleagues to ensure restricted income is managed according to donors’ wishes and restricted funds are managed effectively across Global Fundraising, Marketing and Communications, Global Resources and Global Programmes.

Team management

- Develop and manage the Philanthropy and Fundraising Partnerships team’s activity plan and budget.
- Provide supportive and dynamic line management for members of the Philanthropy and Fundraising Partnerships team, including facilitating regular supervision meetings and supporting their personal development and training.
- Serve as a member of the Global Fundraising, Marketing and Communications Leadership Team.
- Keep up to date with the latest legislative and statutory developments relating to the role, advising staff and the Senior Leadership Team as appropriate.
- Uphold and promote their values, policies, and procedures across all work.

Your knowledge:

- Proven knowledge of fundraising and/or marketing.
- Excellent knowledge of high-value donor, trusts, corporate and legacy fundraising strategies, and activities.
- Comprehensive understanding of fundraising techniques, including audience and donor segmentation, analytical modelling, and the use of insight to drive performance.
- A strong knowledge of global animal welfare, within an international development context is desirable.
- Fundraising training and qualification are desirable.

Your experience:

- Demonstrable experience of managing fundraising or income-generating campaigns, nationally and internationally, including in coalition with other organisations, partners, and agencies/suppliers.
- Experience of managing and overseeing high value giving, legacies, trusts, statutory and corporate fundraising programmes, and activities, to maximise income.
- Experience of developing new products/activities and taking them to market.
- Experience of developing, building, and maintaining relationships with high-value stakeholders.
- Experience of line management and building a collaborative, high-performance team.
- Experience of representing organisations on consortia or in partnership activities (desirable).
- Experience working in a charity or not-for-profit environment is desirable.

- Strong communication skills – written and verbal – with the proven ability to develop strong cases for support.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including donors and funders.

• Prepare and administer correspondence and relevant paperwork and ensure maintenance for full and accurate database (D365/First Class) records, analysing financial and non-financial data to monitor and improve engagement and customer service performance.
• Proactively keep abreast of competitor activities, new initiatives and sector trends.

Samaritans is on a mission to make a profound impact on suicide prevention, and they need your expertise to drive their philanthropy programme to new heights. With a small yet promising portfolio of supporters and donors, they are poised for growth, fuelled by a national rise in wealth and philanthropy. Annual income is around £500K with donations typically at 5 figure values.

The ambition is to grow the programme sustainably in the long term but also ensure the target is met in 2024-25. This year will be about proactive engagement with a wide range of potential supporters, developing programme infrastructure and securing mid-value donations to build the pipeline from the ground up. In year two they hope to drive up gift volume and value.

The Senior Philanthropy Manager will line manage the Philanthropy Officer, supporting their development and fostering an overall culture of collaboration and high performance. The role will also personally cultivate and steward relationships with new and existing major donors, and work collaboratively on a programme of stewardship and cultivation events.

There is a huge amount of potential for this income stream, and with the right Senior Philanthropy Manager, the portfolio could really fly.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, develop and lead the Philanthropy Officer
• Manage a portfolio of existing donors, deepening their relationship with the charity and upscaling gifts

This role is offered on a hybrid contract giving you the opportunity to also work from home three days a week.

Purpose of job:

As our Philanthropy Lead, you will develop and implement a visionary strategy targeted at captivating the attention of ultra-high net worth and high net worth individuals, including a new generation of donors. Collaborating with colleagues from across the organisation, you will sculpt compelling funding propositions, and secure gifts spanning figures in the six and seven digits. Your contribution will be pivotal in transforming lives and helping us achieve our goal of a Just World Free From Poverty.

Key responsibilities:

· To develop, deliver and monitor Comic Relief’s strategy for engagement of ultra-high net worth and high net worth individuals in line with our mission 

· To work closely with Talent to identify artists and their ecosystems who have the capacity and propensity to give financially and leverage support through networks

· To develop a robust prospect pipeline, effectively cultivate prospects and manage and steward relationships with existing donors

· To deliver and/or support with engagement events for prospects and donors, working with the Life Presidents, Trustees and other teams at Comic Relief as needed

· To work closely with the Funding Team to create  compelling propositions for high net worth individuals

· To represent Comic Relief in relevant philanthropic circles, specifically targeting next generation donors, wealth advisers, intermediaries and talent ecosystems

· To be results oriented while creatively develop new ways of reaching and communicating with our target audience of philanthropists, driving income against an agreed target and documenting learning to seek constant improvement 

· Drive accountability for annual revenue generation exceeding £1 million, with a focus on consistent year-over-year growth, targeting a minimum of £1 million for 2024/2025 and surpassing existing income levels of £800k+

Person specification

Essential criteria

· Solid experience of developing and delivering a philanthropy strategy which contributes to the organisations overall strategic aims on income and relationships.

· Solid experience of securing 5 and 6 figure gifts from philanthropists and/or family foundations

· Solid experience of high-level relationship management and support which enables senior stakeholder to grow income and networks

· Exceptional communication, networking, influencing, negotiating and persuading skills.

· Strategic Thinker – able to evaluate decisions in the short, medium and long term.

· Building and sustaining effective working relationships both internally and externally.

Desirable criteria 

· Experience of securing 7 figure gifts and working with leading philanthropist

· Strong sector knowledge and a familiarity with the charitable/funding sector 

· Experience with innovative outreach and creativity in developing new methods to reach and engage target audiences of philanthropists, along with a knack for driving income growth and leveraging insights for continuous improvement.

Location: Hybrid - Remote working with requirement to regularly work from HQ in Exeter or any other Devon Air Ambulance premises.

The Role

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced marketing and communications leader to join the Devon Air Ambulance team and help us tell our story.

Supported by a team of six, and working across the charity, the role will design and deliver marketing and communications strategies to support our mission, vision and strategic aims.

From developing our digital marketing across social media and a new website, to implementing a new visual identity, to underpinning our fundraising activities with creative and compelling communications, the breadth of this role provides a unique opportunity for someone to make a significant contribution to our ongoing success.

The Candidate

We’re looking for an outstanding marketing and communications leader who is strategically minded and delivery focused. They will be able to lead and develop an existing team and be adept at building and maintaining productive working relationships. They will seek out new opportunities to add value to existing activity and develop new ventures in collaboration with colleagues from a diverse range of different disciplines across the organisation. The ideal candidate will bring experience from a charity background and be used to supporting a broad portfolio of income generating activities. They will also be as comfortable leading communications internally as they are externally.
