Purpose
This is an exciting new role supporting the delivery of the events and partnerships programme within a leading mental health charity.

As an Events and Partnerships Officer, your role is to support the planning, delivery and promotion of an exciting calendar of fundraising events, and support our corporate and community partners in their fundraising efforts.
Key responsibilities and duties:
Supporting our events programme
- Supporting the overall delivery of our events programme, working closely with the Senior Events and Partnerships Manager, Head of Fundraising and voluntary fundraising committees.
 - Take a lead role on the planning, delivery and evaluation of a number of events within the calendar - which may include budgeting, liaising with third-party event organisers, logistics, risk assessment, promotion, participant engagement and post-event analysis.
 - Monitor online fundraising and maintain event income and supporter records in the database, working closely with the Fundraising Assistant and finance team on processing income and invoices.
 - Act as a point of contact for our various voluntary fundraising committees, supporting them with their activities, and providing event guidance and administrative support to enable them to deliver successful events and reach income targets.
 - Working closely with our communications team, co-ordinate the marketing and promotion of our events programme. This will include: writing copy, building emails, supporting social activity, multi-channel promotion planning and supporter engagement campaigns.
 - Collaborate on the design and production of event materials, including the development of event-specific fundraising packs and downloadable resources.
 - Represent the Charlie Waller Trust at events as required which will include ad-hoc evenings and weekends for which time off in lieu will be given.
 
Supporting our partnerships
- Co-ordinate partnerships with community and corporate supporters, building long-term relationships and ensuring that partners feel valued and partnership objectives are met.
 - Steward relationships with key people within our community and corporate partners, engaging them with the cause.
 - Send fundraising materials (including t-shirts, information packs, etc.) to individual supporters, corporate partners and community groups raising money for us.
 
General responsibilities and duties
- Ensure that systems and processes are used as expected, and that our database is being updated and utilised as the central source of information.
 - Provide regular updates on progress against agreed objectives and contribute to wider departmental fundraising reports as required.Ensure compliance to data protection, safeguarding, confidentiality and relevant organisational policies and procedures.
 - Other duties as may be reasonably prescribed by the trust, appropriate to the grade and responsibilities of the post.
 - Liaise with a wide variety of people and organisations including supporters of the charity, trainers and funders.

Key Responsibilities

About the role:

About Rockinghorse Children’s Charity
Rockinghorse Children’s Charity supports sick and disabled children across Sussex. We support babies, children and young people, along with their families, at The Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and The Trevor Mann Baby Unit in Brighton and all of the specialist children’s wards and baby units throughout Sussex.
We deliver and fund projects that enable doctors and nurses to do more. About the role
We are looking for someone to manage the fundraising income streams across a broad range of fundraising activities (including challenge, community, and corporates) with the guidance of the Head of Fundraising & Partnerships and in line with our organisational strategy.
You will be a driven and articulate individual looking to support the whole fundraising team. We are looking for someone who can multitask and manage a wide range of new and existing supporters. Under the direction of the Head of Fundraising and Partnerships this role will support us to engage a broad range of supporters for example you might be managing our challenge events, expanding our community fundraising offer, or supporting our amazing corporate supporters with their staff fundraising plans. Duties of the role
Supporting the charity to secure income from across our fundraising portfolio:
Rockinghorse raises money to support children in hospitals, their families and the staff that care for them.
- To manage fundraised income (including challenge, community and corporate) with the charity’s strategic plan at the core of all activity.
 - To work with the Head of Fundraising & Partnerships and the team of fundraisers to implement and develop a holistic approach to fundraising and supporters.
 - To manage and advise all supporters with their events and activities in aid of Rockinghorse, to maximise income generated and increase awareness and understanding of the charity and our work.
 - To proactively grow and develop new ways for supporters to fundraise for Rockinghorse and engage in our work for children across Sussex.
 - To manage supporter journeys, products and mechanisms for the supporters you are assigned to manage.
 - To ensure you forecast, budget and have contingency planning in place for your income pipeline across your channels.
 - To understand the needs, wants and behaviours of new and existing supporters.

Rockinghorse delivers and funds around 70+ projects per year – supporting sick and disabled babies, children, young people and their families in hospitals in Sussex.
- Work with Head of Fundraising & Partnerships to match projects to partners, supporters and appeals – to ensure our projects are funded and delivered.
 - Work with Head of Fundraising & Partnerships to create case for supports for our projects that appeal to and attract a range of supporters.
 - Work with Projects Manager and Head of Marketing & Communication to create and disseminate project updates and communication to ensure our supporters are informed, educated and engaged in our work.
 - Work with the Head of Marketing and Communications and project leads to build up a bank of case studies, quotes and stories we can use to feed back to supporters.
 
Support the charity more widely:
- Represent Rockinghorse at events and networks, building strong peer relationships and sharing best practice.
 - To present and speak on behalf of Rockinghorse at schools, colleges, community events and corporate events.
 - Model excellent conduct and behaviours in line with the charity’s values and ethos.

Throughout her journey with Sister System, each girl participates in weekly one-to-one and group sessions focused on self-education and personal growth. These sessions explore the social and emotional transition to womanhood while building a supportive network of “sisters” who continue to empower one another during key life transitions. Our programmes are accessible to girls and young women at any stage of educational attainment, enabling all Sis-Stars to learn, grow, and thrive.

Variety, the Children's Charity is excited to recruit for a Corporate Partnerships Manager to join the fundraising team as we launch a new multi-year partnership in January 2026. This role is a new position to support our ambitious growth to deliver award winning partnerships and raise money from corporate partners across the Northeast region. This key role on our team will ensure our work to fund life-changing practical support to disabled and disadvantaged children and young people continues across the UK.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
● Lead account management of a large national corporate partnership, delivering a six-figure fundraising target and giving first class stewardship to ensure engagement with all staff across multiple sites in the UK
● Develop engaging marketing and communications for the partnership and develop new business materials for their suppliers and customers, to get them involved in the partnership
● Travel across regional offices for fundraising and volunteering, engaging staff and working with our beneficiary schools on engagement events
● Write and deliver quarterly impact reporting, making presentations at head office with partnership updates
● Track income and expenditure for the partnership
● Develop new business by introductions from the partnership and also work across the Northwest to develop new leads for the corporate fundraising pipeline
● Plan volunteering days for corporate partners, coordinating with our school’s network, sending briefs and attending some events to ensure smooth coordination
● Attending regular partnership meetings and keeping all account plans up to date utilising our CRM system Salesforce
● Attend Variety fundraising and awareness events representing the charity and speaking confidently about our work

MAIN BENEFITS, TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Reporting to: Director of Fundraising & Communications
Salary: £35,000-£38,000 per annum
Location: Remote working (must be in the Northeast area) (with 2-4 days per month working from a corporate partner office in Newcastle)
Hours: 9am to 5pm, Monday - Friday
25 days holiday (we also normally give between Christmas and New Year off, but this is not contractual). In addition, after one year's continuous service, there will be an extra 2 days annual holiday added for every complete year of service, up to a maximum of five days' extra holiday.
