Mentoring Assistant
DYP is seeking a dedicated, vibrant Mentoring Assistant to support the delivery and growth of our youth mentoring and educational and digital awareness programmes. Working closely with the Youth Mentoring Lead, you will help strengthen and deliver services that empower unaccompanied asylum seeking youth and refugees from the Horn of Africa aged 14-25.
Key responsibilities include:

Providing consistent support across youth clubs and mentoring drop-in sessions

Assisting with individual and group mentoring tailored to personal, educational, and career goals

Coordinating educational services such as ESOL classes, college registrations, and referrals

Supporting digital inclusion initiatives to ensure young people have access to essential tools and skills

Building strong partnerships with local authorities, schools, and community organisations
We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, a commitment to youth empowerment, and the ability to build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders. Experience in mentoring, education, or youth work is desirable, alongside a sound understanding of trauma-informed work and the demographics of our clients.
This is a freelance, full-time role (35 hours per week) with a daily fee of £135, and a 3 month probation period. Work will be based in Streatham, with flexibility to work from home and other community locations.
