Pathway Manager

This is an exciting opportunity for a Pathway Manager to join a new service in Middlesbrough managing a small team of staff providing support to people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

Position: Pathway Manager

Location: Middlesbrough

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 per week

Salary: £38,432 per annum + pension and other benefits

About the Role

As Pathway Manager, you will be responsible for managing the Middlesbrough Positive Pathways service, supporting around 100 people annually across accommodation and outreach. You will lead a small team of staff and volunteers delivering personalised, psychologically informed support to individuals experiencing homelessness or significant disadvantage.

 

You’ll oversee the management of 14 self-contained accommodation units, ensure high standards of housing management and compliance, and work closely with stakeholders across Middlesbrough and Teesside to promote pathways out of homelessness.

 

Key responsibilities include:

·       Managing the delivery of RSAP and SHAP accommodation-based support services

·       Ensuring robust risk assessments, support planning, and safeguarding procedures

·       Line managing Positive Pathways Coordinators, Outreach Workers, and volunteers

·       Ensuring compliance with health and safety, housing regulations and organisational policies

·       Building and maintaining effective partnerships with statutory and voluntary sector agencies

·       Promoting the service and developing opportunities across the Teesside area

About You

To be successful in the role of Pathway Manager you will need to have the following skills and experience:

·       Proven experience managing or supervising staff or volunteers

·       Experience working with people facing homelessness, substance misuse or mental ill health

·       Strong understanding of safeguarding, housing management, and regulatory compliance

·       Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while maintaining a calm, positive approach

·       Excellent organisational, IT and communication skills

·       Commitment to inclusive, person-centred support and continuous personal development
