We are looking for someone to help us document the ‘Innovative Manufacturing in Africa’ project.

The project supports ‘makerspaces’ in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa. It continues previous work by building their capacity, sharing knowledge and trialling innovative systems to help them generate revenue. It is supported by UK Aid’s RISA Fund and the mAkE Project. The Internet of Production is a small, international charity that brings together a global alliance dedicated to building a future of decentralized and distributed manufacturing. We seek to enable a sustainable and globally networked system of production, where products are fabricated using local capabilities and global designs; to complement mass production and global supply chains with ‘production by the masses’ and local enterprise. We work on open standards for networking, support experiments in open digital infrastructures and run projects that develop key parts of a future ‘Internet of Production’ – such as the ‘makerspaces’ in Africa.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Help expert speakers to create content to help build the capacity of makerspaces in Africa
• Publish excellent write-ups of webinar content so that it can be shared more widely
• Review content from the project developed in 2023, and prepare and publish it for sharing
• Help to publish academic-style papers from work done in 2023, ideally in a relevant journal
• Support the Project Manager in monitoring, evaluation and learning processes
• Support the team with communications for monthly project stakeholder meetings
• Contribute project content to the Internet of Production website
• Prepare communications materials for a key series of events in Cape Town in November 2024
• Identify and share relevant content on the Appropedia wiki

Person Specification:

• Experience as a writer, reporter or author of learning materials, articles or papers 
• Background in communications, particularly in non-profit, charity or education sectors
• Exceptional written English for a range of formats and a very diverse set of audiences
• Graphic design skills, including for presentations and websites
• Online publishing skills, ideally including learning platforms such as MOOCs and MediaWiki wikis
• Experience of organising events, particularly online events
• Familiarity with Creative Commons or other copy-left and open-source licenses is helpful
• Interest in makerspaces, innovation and distributed manufacturing is helpful

We're looking for a new Volunteer-Led Services Manager to lead our transport and befriending services as well as helping us to grow our team of volunteers across the whole organisation. 

Key responsibilities are:

• Day to day oversight of our Volunteer Led Services (Community Connections Befriending, and Community Connections Transport and Care Home Befriending)

Freedom for Animals is seeking an experienced Digital Marketing and Brand Communications Manager to work with the Campaigns and Fundraising functions to develop and grow our digital channels. Purpose of Role:

Key Responsibilities

● To ensure all material adheres to the brand values, identity and marketing strategy, aligning this with the strategic plan for the organisation

● Plan, develop and schedule creative and innovative social media content to reach Freedom for Animals’ key audiences across a range of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok

● Work with Fundraising Manager and Campaigns Manager to produce high quality content for website, e-newsletters, e-zines including key messages and high quality infographics

● Monitor and analyse Freedom for Animals social media platforms and create a set of metrics to measure social media success

● Maximise Search Engine Optimisation to ensure our key messages reach as wide an audience as possible

● Oversee brand compliance, ensuring all staff adhere to brand guidelines

THE IMPACT YOU WILL HAVE

As an Events and Community Coordinator you will coordinate the delivery of events and community activity that engages people to raise vital funds for Missing People.

You will

• Deliver a range of fundraising products and activities for people with and without experience of the cause to raise agreed income targets;
• Contribute to the achievement of agreed team targets for supporter volume, average value, conversion rates;
• Create marketing briefs and work with the Marketing team to ensure events are marketed and delivered in line with plans;
• Coordinate the creation of inspiring and practical content and materials to support fundraising, including working with third parties to commission or source copy, video or images;
• Work directly with supporters to help them develop their own fundraising ideas – this will sometimes involve working with people with lived experience of the cause.

About the Senior Uniformed Events Officer role:

We are currently seeking an experienced events professional to join our busy Operations team to coordinate, deliver and promote MSSC uniformed events. An exciting position has arisen for an initiative-taking, enthusiastic and well-organised individual to join the Charity team at Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. (Working title King George & Queens Hospital Charity)

This is a dual responsibility role, and the postholder will be at the heart of all charitable activities as part of the fundraising team. Role Purpose:

The role of the Commercial Programmer is responsible for the creative programming and delivery of a commercial public events programme through public commercial events and private venue hire to grow our income, visitor numbers and opportunities.

This role will support the development and delivery of key areas which are essential to our success: 

Commercial public events and partnerships support the Commercial Events department to create a year-round plan of commercial public events which engage existing and new visitors and grow income.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Commercial Events programming and delivery

• To research, programme, and deliver a regular annual public programme at the Old Royal Naval College, incorporating seasonal events and event programmes related to art installations or exhibitions.
• To support the development of the Commercial Public Events programme in line with the Commercial Events Strategy as defined by the Commercial Manager.
• Generate income and profile through a range of commercial partnerships, ticketed events, and new ventures to build financial resilience of the organisation.

• To use bench-marking research and consistent formative evaluation to keep the public programme relevant and successful.

• To manage all documentation and liaison in relation to the delivery of the public programme (i.e. communication with internal and external stakeholders, the completion of events schedules, Event Management Plans, and risk assessments).
• To manage the engagement of contractors and suppliers working on the public programme, ensuring all health and safety protocols are met and site rules adhered to.
• To keep complete and up-to-date financial records and ensure that the programme remains within a set budget.

About the role
We are seeking a Partnership Manager experienced in winning, developing and managing funding relationships (trust and foundations, corporate and paid delivery partnerships). 
Reporting to the Director of Income Generation, HFTF’s Partnership Manager will be an integral part of the Fundraising team responsible for growing and managing our partnerships, driving the charity forward, increasing impact, securing increasing and sustainable funding and engaging increasingly wider and more diverse segments of society, in our work - equipping citizens across the UK with the tools they need to have effective and impactful conversations with their local politicians on climate change and nature.

Combining exceptional fundraising knowledge and an ability to think innovatively and strategically, this role will be essential to establishing new funding from trusts and foundations, corporate and paid delivery partnerships and stewarding these towards longer term support for our vision - that together, communities and politicians secure a healthy planet for all.

Terms and conditions
Hours: Full time (35 hours) with the option for flexible working.We’d be open to a part time role for the right candidate. The role may require some evening and weekend work.
Pay: £33,920 - £37,736 per annum, plus £3k London Weighting for staff who live in the qualifying postcode areas.
