Fowler’s Syndrome UK (Registered Charity number 1196903) is a unique patient and clinician led charity that works to raise awareness, promote education and encourage research into the debilitating bladder condition Fowler’s Syndrome. The condition solely affects women and Fowler’s Syndrome UK (FSUK) is the only charity in the world to directly support women with this condition.
Fowler’s syndrome is a life changing and currently almost untreatable condition, affecting up to 20,000 women in the UK. It causes full or partial urinary retention and solely affects women*, meaning they have problems passing urine due to a difficulty in relaxing the urinary sphincter. The peak age of onset is 26. It was first described by Professor Clare Fowler, Emeritus professor of Uro-Neurology at UCLh, and FSUK’s patron, in 1985.
We estimate that there are in excess of 20,000 women in the UK suffering from, but not necessarily diagnosed with, the condition, because of the lack of knowledge about Fowler’s Syndrome both from a patient and clinician perspective.
85% of women with Fowler’s Syndrome say the condition has had a severe or devastating impact on their life.
75% of those with FS have been told their urinary symptoms are due to anxiety or ‘all in their head’
There is low awareness of the condition among the medical community outside of specialist hospitals. Only an estimated 30% of GPs are aware of Fowler’s Syndrome. Once diagnosed, there are few resources available for patients and limited treatment options. Many women feel alone and unsupported.
Our mission is to provide resources, promote education and facilitate research into Fowler’s syndrome; so women with the condition have stigma free access to a timely diagnosis, suitable and effective treatment options, care and psychological support.

The Role: Administrator
The administrator’s role is to support the CEO in the daily management of the charity. This will include administration, delivering resources, comms including social media and website, outreach and events, fundraising and research. It will also include supporting the CEO and Patient Liaison with seminars and conferences, and support groups.
Administration: Support the CEO and the Finance and Governance lead with daily activities, including but not limited to grant applications, basic finance administration, project management, project delivery, database management, office management. Objective: Improve efficiency and quality of the charity’s management
Resources: Supporting the CEO and working to deliver first class resources. Working with the CEO and Patient Liaison to efficiently and effectively run the roll out of our resources, following the CEO’s guidelines and the charity’s mission and vision. This will include Healthcare professional (HCP) leaflets, Patient leaflets, a catheter support series, mental health support series, Pain management support from pharmacists and Physiotherapist led sessions. This will also include management of zoom and in person groups, dissemination of information on studies and surveys.
Comms: Manage the patient database including GDPR, manage newsletters, PR, website. Manage FSUK’s social media, with direction from the CEO. Daily posts plus responding to queries and signposting. Social media partnerships. Monthly email to database. Basic updates to website
Outreach and events: Drive awareness of FSUK in the local community and beyond Work with CEO to manage merchandising, registration, setup, logistics of events. Find, plan and represent FSUK at events. Manage yearly even calendar. Working with the CEO and administrator to plan, organise and run events, including transformative one-day seminar for healthcare professionals and a two-day seminar for FSUK users and clinicians.
Fundraising: Help the CEO and Patient liaison with fundraising, both on an individual and trust basis.
Community led research: Assist the CEO in creating patient led community research.
Research: Assist the CEO and work with the Patient Liaison in creating and conducting research. Including Patient perspectives input into consensus guidelines for non-surgical management, Dr. Ingrid Hoeritzauer, Patient experiences with sacral neuromodulation, Dr. Caroline Selai, Awareness of FS among UK urology community, Prof Jalesh Panicker via University Cambridge, Physiotherapy treatment experiences with FS and CIUR, Dr. Ingrid Hoeritzauer. Our research will help enable women to receive the support they need and fulfil their potential, offering quicker diagnosis and better treatments and enabling our community to thrive.
There may be occasions where staff are required to work out of hours or support at events, including wish related activities such as our annual wish family Christmas party or wish community events, cheering runners at the London marathon or working at our annual fundraising gala. Purpose of Role:
Reporting to the Supporter Care Manager, you will deliver excellent customer care to supporters and potential supporters of Operation Smile UK. As an integral part of the Supporter Care team, you will successfully support the Individual Giving programme and wider fundraising activities, providing support to ever increasing income and supporter stewardship for the delivery of increasing levels of unrestricted income for Operation Smile UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be the first point of contact for existing supporters and new supporters who respond to our fundraising activities by phone, email, letter or in person, letter, or email delivering outstanding supporter care
- Liaise with supporters in timely communication via email, phone, and mail with excellent customer care
- Priority is to answer incoming phone calls and escalate any difficult situations/complaints to Supporter Care Manager

- Be responsible for thanking our supporters including by letter, email and phone, despatch of information and fundraising materials

- Assist with cancelling and amending all types of regular gifts and sending out appropriate letters

Skills and Experience Required:
Essential:

About this role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Reprieve team as our Head of Digital and Mass Engagement covering parental leave. With the support of the Deputy Director of Development, you will lead our fast‐moving and creative Mass Engagement Team, who power fundraising across multiple channels. They do this by engaging and building a community of supporters and running campaigns that inspire people to support our work.
As a dynamic leader, you will oversee this area of our work by delivering and implementing Reprieve’s recently launched Mass Engagement strategy. You will work closely with colleagues across the organisation, as you lead digital campaigns that mobilise Reprieve’s existing community (currently about 95,000 people in the UK and 9,000 in the US) while inspiring others to join the movement.
Our Mass Engagement work is at a pivotal moment. Reprieve’s income from the general public through regular and individual giving, generated largely by email fundraising, has experienced a drop, with many of our supporters understandably reassessing their charitable giving in the face of the economic crisis.
In response to this new context, Reprieve is launching its new strategy and investing creatively to ensure sustained engagement and growth of our incredible community of supporters. Joining the team at this key moment, you will be energised to bring your skills, experience and knowledge to implement and deliver these plans, testing opportunities to diversify and grow the programme.
Salary, contract and location
The annual salary is £59,226 per annum less any required deductions for income tax and national insurance. This is an approximately 9 month fixed-term contract to cover parental leave, beginning in mid-October.

About the role:
Our Head of Marketing and Communications provides leadership and operational management of P3’s ambitious communications and marketing department, responsible for driving brand awareness and stakeholder engagement.

Your Role

Functions and responsibilities
Organisation level
· Prepare annual, quarterly and monthly budgets and projections at the organisational and programme level along with management accounts and cash flow reports.
· Analyse forward cash and fundraising projections and needs.
· Brief and work with Executive Director on financial, HR and administrative matters including financial needs, staffing, projections, scenarios and planning, and risk monitoring.
· Prepare and present financial reports to Board of Trustees meetings.
· Ensure the Charity meets its statutory obligations to HMRC and Charity Commission and other relevant bodies as necessary, as well as insurance obligations.

· Support Programme Directors with financial monitoring and planning for time allocation needs across staff and consultants, project delivery capacity, billing, fundraising, and expenditure - over monthly, quarterly and annual timelines.
· Oversee financial management of grants and other types of contract from governments from multiple regions, international organisations and charitable foundations.
· Schedule, prepare, submit and track financial reports to funders and invoices to funders, including submitting invoices on government finance systems.
· Monitor payment of invoices.
· Prepare for and host project-level audits.
· Support staff with project and activity level finances and expenditure monitoring.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
As a key member of the leadership team, the Head of Operations (HOO) plays a vital role in the development and delivery of Cockpit’s strategic plan, working closely with the Chief Executive. The HOO will ensure operational excellence, site optimisation in Bloomsbury and Deptford and lead on property strategy. The role encompasses oversight of the maker community, management of IT systems, leading on HR and responsibility for health and safety compliance.
This role would suit an entrepreneurial self-starter with demonstrable experience in property and building management, project management, budget and fiscal control, HR and team management. Knowledge of planning, business and charity financing, leasehold and landlord-tenant legislation is desirable. The role requires strong negotiation skills and the ability to exert influence and maintain critical relationships. It requires a keen focus on delivery and detail as well as the ability to retain big picture perspectives. Exemplary communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential.
MAIN DUTIES:
1 PROPERTY AND BUILDING MANAGEMENT
Cockpit has two sites in Deptford and Bloomsbury. At each site, a Studio Manager has responsibility for the day-to-day running of the sites and liaison with makers. The Studio Managers will report to the HOO who will coordinate, plan and/or oversee all the practical management of the buildings including repairs and maintenance; alterations and refurbishments; space allocations and use of space; health and safety; tenant/maker welfare/support etc.
The HOO will manage the Studio complexes to ensure they meet the requirements of the charity and resident makers while ensuring commercial optimisation.
The HOO will ensure efficient use of space and consider charitable and commercial objectives when setting prices and rates to ensure a balanced outcome. The HOO is responsible for ensuring compliance on all aspects of Health and Safety, insurance and risk assessment.
The HOO is responsible for project managing all future real estate projects from inception to completion. They will ensure that sufficient resources, budgets and expertise are in place for such projects. The HOO will sit on Cockpit’s Property Committee.
2 LEASES, INSURANCE, LEGAL, RATES AND LA
With oversight from the CEO and Board, and relevant legal advice, the HOO will manage leasehold negotiations with Cockpit’s landlord, Camden Council. The HOO will report on such matters to the Property committee of the Board.
Working with the CEO, the HOO will manage licences issued to studio holders developing pricing structures and documentation that reflect Cockpits charitable aims and commercial objectives.
Working with the CEO, the HOO will set hire rates, rentals and other pricing related to Cockpits spaces and services in line with Cockpit’s charitable aims and commercial objectives. They will be responsible for issuing associated contracts and licences.
The HOO will oversee all insurance requirements and ensure that terms required are met. The HOO will oversee legal compliance issues in collaboration with the CEO and as directed.
The HOO will maintain good relationships with Local Authorities and be responsible for monitoring and overseeing all rates or other levies in relation to the buildings or the charity itself.
3 COMMERCIAL EVOLUTION AND PROJECTS
The HOO will take an active leadership role in developing and delivering commercial opportunities for the charity in line with its charitable objectives and the strategic plan. The HOO will lead on the strategy for development of space and venue hire, tours, better utilisation of space, and AV studio hire. The HOO will evaluate commercial opportunities/risks and will manage the delivery and ultimate running of such spaces.
The HOO will also oversee the successful delivery and oversight of the cafe operator in Deptford.
4 LIVE EVENTS
The HOO will actively contribute to the creative development of Cockpit events, including but not limited to Open Studios. They will be responsible for the operational planning and timely delivery of the events including budget management. The Event Manager and Events Coordinator will report into the HOO on all relevant events.
The HOO will be responsible for ensuring there is clear post event reporting from all departments, and that this is tracked year on year to ensure it informs future strategy, budgets and investment.
5 YOUTH AND COMMUNITY
Working with the CEO, HOO is responsible for overseeing Cockpit’s Youth and Community activities. They will be responsible for the recruitment and management of the producer, as well as overseeing budgets. The HOO will oversee the programming of any Youth & Community activities across the year and ensure these are aligned to the charities objectives and are properly funded. They will work closely with the Head of Development and Youth and Community Producer to ensure Cockpit targets the correct funding bids and works with the correct partners to deliver impactful programmes in a cost-effective manner.
6 IT and DATA MANAGEMENT
The HOO is responsible for managing Cockpit’s external IT consultant to ensure that all hardware and software bought and used by the charity is up-to-date, efficient, cost effective, secure and suitable for the charity’s activities.
The HOO is responsible for overseeing all software and digital upgrades including but not limited to the charity’s CRM, cloud-based services and future automation.
7 DATA AND GDPR
The HOO will play a central role in the planning and correct implementation of any data programme for Cockpit. This will be in close collaboration with the Head of Marketing and Digital and the CEO.
The HOO is responsible for GDPR for Cockpit and will take on responsibility for compliance and other copyright or legal practices in relation to safe data management, firewall implementation, working closely with the Head of Marketing and Digital on these matters.
8 COMPLIANCE, RISK REGISTER, HANDBOOKS, HR
The HOO has line management responsibility for the Deptford and Bloomsbury Studio Managers, Events and Venue Coordinator, Event Manager, Youth and Community Producer and overall responsibility for Cockpit’s HR function.
The HOO will take responsibility for ensuring compliant staff practices in relation to up-to-date staff contracts, health and safety, maternity and all other relevant HR matters. In association with the CEO and Financial Controller, the HOO will manage and record annual leave.
The HOO will work with the Studio Managers to ensure good Maker welfare and be responsible for policies that result in positive outcomes in relation to the Cockpit community.
The HOO will liaise with the CEO and advise on risks in the HR area and will sit on the People Committee of Cockpit.
The HOO will evaluate when HR risk requires external advice and will agree any necessary actions with CEO.
The HOO will be responsible for the Staff Handbook, The Trustee Handbook, Maker Welcome Pack/Handbooks and all relevant compliance materials for updating and circulation, including all company policies.
Working with the CEO, the HOO will manage the Risk Register and update the Board in a timely manner on any pertinent and impending changes to that with the potential to impact the charity. The HOO will be a member of the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee (FARCo) of Cockpit.
The HOO will take on responsibility for recruitment practices and onboarding activities for new employees, contractors and trustees.
The HOO will oversee the performance review process, coordinate staff training and be responsible for the training budget.
9 DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION
In conjunction with the CEO, the HOO will oversee and implement policies that foster and reflect the charity’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. This may include managing new and existing initiatives, updating policies and undertaking formal reviews. The HOO will champion Cockpit’s diversity objectives at the Board’s People Committee (PeCo).
10 COMMITTEES AND BOARD
The HOO will provide a support role to the CEO on preparation of Board papers and reports. The HOO will coordinate committee meeting dates and circulate them to the members appropriately, with administrative support. The HOO will oversee the minutes for all meetings, working with an external minute taker. The HOO may maintain activity lists and will work with the CEO and the Board of Trustees to ensure exceptional Governance.
11 CEO DEPUTISATION

The Architectural Heritage Fund (AHF) is currently seeking a Head of Grants. Reporting to the Director of Programmes and Deputy CEO, you will be responsible for overseeing the AHF’s core grant-funded programmes across the UK, including managing the four Development Managers for England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, leading on assessment, monitoring and reporting against all grants awarded through these programmes, and participating in decision making around grant awards.
We are looking for a candidate able to demonstrate a breadth and depth of experience across the principal duties of this post. A strong track record of leadership within the heritage, social enterprise or social investment sectors and clear, relevant experience managing a staff team as well as multi-funder programmes with diverse strands of activity and reporting lines, is essential. The candidate must be a team player, with excellent interpersonal, influencing, negotiating and communication skills. They should have experience of collaborative working with external partners and a strategic approach to prioritising workloads and problem solving. Candidates must have strong numeric and financial skills, excellent attention to detail and be a confident user of common IT system Office packages. We are looking for someone who will become a leader in our organisation, who is passionate, target orientated and, in particular, committed to achieving beneficial social outcomes through heritage.
