Governance, Risk & Compliance

• Act as Company Secretary, ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance.

Corporate Services Leadership

• Manage the People Support Lead, providing line management and oversight, while working collaboratively to ensure HR compliance, develop people strategy, and coordinate on key operational matters including payroll and budgets.
• Lead IT oversight and the outsourced IT function, ensuring systems are maintained and improved.
• Oversee facilities management and represent WECHI as a Director for Hide Market Management.

Research is at the heart of our charitable objectives at Sarcoma UK. The charity provides funding for research to understand sarcoma better, improve treatments and ultimately, make a difference to the lives of people affected by sarcoma. Duties and Key Responsibilites 

Sarcoma UK’s research programme

• To support Sarcoma UK’s grant application processes under guidance from the Research Manager. This will include calls for proposals, identifying expert peer reviewers, administering a high-quality peer and lay review process, communication with applicants and potential applicants, administration of grant awards and supporting patient involvement.
• To provide support to the Grant Review Panel and Research Strategy Committee, including organising meetings and preparing minutes.
• To manage Sarcoma UK’s portfolio of active research grants, under guidance from the Research Manager. This will include use of grant management software for administration of newly awarded grants, monitoring progress of current grants, oversight of grant finances and reporting on final outputs.
• To support opportunities for patient involvement within the research programme, including managing a network of lay reviewers and facilitating new opportunities, with support from the Involvement and Volunteering Coordinator.
• To support new developments in Sarcoma UK’s research programme, including organising and attending events, collaborative funding calls and initiatives to support early career researchers.

Research Impact and Communications

• To monitor and gather outputs and long-term impact of research grants funded by Sarcoma UK and support in ensuring these are shared with internal and external audiences.
• To plan and produce engaging and reactive and proactive communications about sarcoma research, including website, social media, written and video content, working with the Research Manager and Communications Team to ensure our research activities and outcomes are shared with the sarcoma community and wider public.
• To proactively engage with grant holders to gather impactful insights and to support engaging communication about sarcoma research.
• To regularly review and update Sarcoma UK’s website with progress updates on research grants and promote funding opportunities.
• To support work undertaken by the Fundraising Team where required, such as lab tours and supplying information about funded grants for donor reports.

External relationships

• To be a point of contact for Sarcoma UK grant holders and their host institutions.
• To maintain positive relationships with Sarcoma UK’s research panels, potential grant applications, researchers and clinicians, and the wider sarcoma research community.
• To work directly with a range of people personally affected by sarcoma to place the voice of lived experience at the heart of our research programme.

Head of Fundraising

We are seeking an experienced fundraising professional with a strong track record of securing major gifts to lead and deliver a high value global fundraising strategy that supports ambitious scientific and conservation programmes.

Position: Head of Fundraising

Salary: £70,000 plus, depending on experience

Location: Hybrid, with weekly Oxford presence and some international travel

About the Role

This is a senior post responsible for designing and delivering a multi-year fundraising strategy focused on major donors, high net worth individuals and philanthropic foundations. You will play a central part in securing significant multi-year commitments that enable large scale expedition, research, and public engagement programmes.

Person Specification

Essential Experience and Competencies

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.

CAAT is recruiting a Supporter Development Manager. Working closely with our Campaigns team and Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the recruitment, retention, and engagement of supporters, and fundraising from these individuals.

A skilled communicator and natural relationship builder, you will have experience of developing supporter journeys which integrate campaigning, fundraising and engagement; ensuring that supporter data is held responsibly and used appropriately; and maximising income through regular giving, appeals and digital channels.

The role

About you
As a person who is passionate about the power of data, you will have the opportunity to shape the way that the organisation captures and analyses fundraising income and other data to maximise income which will in turn enable us to support more children.

You will have a track record of managing a fundraising database in a charitable organisation and proven data analysis skills. This role will provide an essential link between the finance and fundraising & marketing teams and will suit someone who thrives on working collaboratively to achieve the goals of the organisation.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a committed Christian* with building surveying and asset management experience and a heart for older people to be part of this vital and fulfilling position.

Reporting directly to the Director of Property Services, you will have a key role in ensuring the provisions of our selected properties are safe and comfortable and responding efficiently to repair needs and requests.

This role is part of the support function provided by our Support Office in London, however, you will be working remotely with regular travel across our various homes and schemes.

Responsibilities:

• Working with the Directors of Property, Finance and Operations to agree on maintenance budgets;
• Specifying, tendering, monitoring and supervision of building and refurbishment projects and planned preventative maintenance;
• Prepare reports in relation to ongoing and forecast work and budgets;
• Produce recommendations on future cost planning;
• Responsible for proper authorisation of orders, invoices, accounts, etc., in line with agreed policies;

Skills/Experience:

• Qualified building surveyor, architectural technician, project manager, quantity surveyor or similar qualification.
• Building defect identification and maintenance procurement and management;
• Property maintenance surveyor role;
• Facilities and asset management;
• Building project and repairs management;
• Able to prepare estimates, drawings and specifications for projects and project manage them.
• Computer literate and able to work in Excel, Word, etc.
• Team player;
• Self-motivated;
• Willing and able to travel extensively as the role requires;
• A clean driving licence, valid for UK driving;

We are looking to recruit a Head of Development and Partnerships to join our team based at either our London or Midlands site. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis. In return, you will receive a salary of £55,000 - £65,000 per annum dependent on experience and location.

The Royal Air Force Museum is a national museum, a Government non-departmental public body (NDPB) and a registered charity, with two sister sites at London and Midlands. Purpose of the Head of Development and Partnerships role:

The Royal Air Force Museum is seeking an experienced and ambitious Head of Development and Partnerships to lead and grow our fundraising activity at a pivotal time for the organisation. As a national museum and registered charity, we rely on successful fundraising to support our day-to-day operations as well as major capital and development programmes that enable us to share the RAF story with current and future generations.

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Resources and working closely with the CEO, you will develop and deliver an ambitious fundraising strategy covering both revenue and capital income. You will lead a skilled Development team and personally cultivate and secure significant gifts. A key part of the role is building strong relationships with Trustees, senior colleagues and external partners, including leading the Museum’s partnership with the RAF Museum American Foundation.

Key responsibilities of our Head of Development and Partnerships include:

• Leading fundraising for the RAF Museum - developing and delivering an ambitious fundraising strategy, and championing fundraising as a discipline within the Museum
• Working closely with Trustees, Directors and colleagues to identify and develop cases for support around capital and revenue needs
• Identifying and cultivating new prospective donor markets in the UK and overseas – showing a willingness to travel internationally as appropriate
• Developing and delivering identified stand-alone fundraising campaigns in support of agreed capital and activity programmes
• Working closely with the CEO, lead the Museum’s partnership with the RAF Museum 3 American Foundation (RAFMAF), support the Chair to manage Board meetings and direct the effective planning and delivery of the annual dinner in Washington DC and other events as appropriate
• Overseeing and co-ordinating Museum partnerships, representing the Museum with external non-commercial stakeholders, in particular the RAF. Liaise closely with the Head of Events to deconflict visits and bookings, working together for the best reputational and financial outcomes for the Museum

What we are looking for in our Head of Development and Partnerships:

• Educated to first degree level or equivalent experience
• Demonstrable experience in developing and delivering fundraising strategies and plans, personally securing five to six figure support
• Is able to inspire team to engage with the long-term vision and purpose of the Museum
• Delegates decision making to the right level within team
• Pushes themselves and team to achieve, setting a clear plan and objectives and ensuring they/their team stay focussed
• Demonstrates positivity in relation to change and encourages team to embrace change
• Ensures own team’s strategy and activities are aligned to the Museum’s priorities and clearly articulates these to team
• Experience of securing National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) Funding
