The Pituitary Foundation are recruiting for a new CEO to lead us into the next phase of our journey.

The Pituitary Foundation is the UK’s leading charity providing support and information for people living with pituitary conditions, their families, friends and carers. We are based in an office in central Bristol, with some staff and volunteers working remotely throughout the UK. Pituitary conditions are uncommon, usually lifelong and can be life threatening. Conditions include acromegaly, Cushing's, prolactinoma, AVP-Deficiency and hypopituitarism.

It is an exciting time to join The Foundation. We are celebrating our 30th anniversary throughout 2024 and are working towards our ambitious strategy which we are excited to achieve. Our new website, and CRM, combined with robust processes and procedures offers a strong foundation, for a new CEO to build on.

About the Role

This role will combine the ambition of The Foundation without losing the core importance of being a person-centred patient support group, offering kindness and support at challenging times.  You will bring excellent interpersonal skills, as well as financial acumen and an appetite for seeing the best possible service delivered to a wide demographic.

Location: Based in the Bristol office, with flexibility for hybrid working

Salary: £55,000 - £60,000

Reports to: Chair and Board of Trustees

Holiday: 30 days plus statutory bank holidays

Pension: 5% employer contribution

For more than 50 years, the British Dyslexia Association (BDA) has been the voice of people living with dyslexia. We aim to influence government and other institutions to promote a dyslexia friendly society that enables dyslexic people of all ages to reach their full potential. The BDA is established as the leading dyslexia charity in the UK.

Unfortunately, the need for our support and services is high. Although awareness of dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties has grown, there are ongoing and widening gaps in access to the identification of dyslexia and the provision of expert learning support. Our national Helpline is busier than ever, supporting almost 5,500 people each year, reminding us on a daily basis why we must keep fighting for the rights of our beneficiaries.

Against a challenging backdrop for so many organisations, last financial year we saw continued growth in income from fundraising and training. We invested in growing our team and identified five strategic objectives for the period 2023-2026, and activities are currently underway to deliver these priorities. Our next CEO will continue to oversee these whilst laying the foundations for our next strategy cycle which we intend to publish in 2026. As such, the timing of this appointment allows the successful candidate the opportunity to work with the Board and other key stakeholders to articulate the long-term vision for our charity, establishing a plan that enables us to expand our reach and deepen our programmes.

The role of CEO at the BDA is one of both challenge and immense reward, offering the chance to lead a passionate and skilled team dedicated to making a tangible difference in society. Streatham Youth and Community Trust (SYCT) is seeking an experienced Interim CEO to navigate the organisation through a critical period of transition. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in turnaround management within the charitable sector, capable of implementing strategic and operational changes to address systemic issues and rebuild organisational strength and sustainability, while stabilising the relationship with the wider community.

SYCT is currently facing significant financial and operational challenges. In this context, the board and the newly appointed CEO have had to make a number of difficult but necessary decisions. The recent closure of the charity-run nursery due to a combination of quality and financial viability concerns has resulted in a significant amount of noise. As a result, she has decided that she is not the right person to lead the turnaround efforts. She will stay in post until 28th June 2024 if needed, but is happy to step back after a brief handover as soon as a suitable Interim CEO can start in the role.

Top priorities for the Interim CEO will be leading the organisation through a period of restructuring, focusing on rebuilding core services, stakeholder relationships, processes and systems; and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including health and safety standards and HR protocols.

Key details:

• Role: Interim CEO at Streatham Youth and Community Trust
• Salary: c.£75,000 per annum, pro rata.

· This is a nine-month interim position with the strong possibility of extension to twelve months based on organisational needs.

· This is a full-time role, with 4+ days per week to be spent on SYCT’s sites around Streatham. For highly experienced candidates, the role could be considered on a pat time basis (4 days per week), and/or with 3 days spent on site.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• Proven experience as a CEO or senior executive in a turnaround management capacity, preferably within the charitable sector.
• Track record of establishing effective policies, processes and systems within an organisation.
• Strong financial acumen and experience in financial restructuring and budgetary management.
• Demonstrable leadership skills with a track record of leading organisations and teams through significant organisational and cultural change.
• Sound understanding of governance, compliance, and risk management principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, to include experience of overseeing effective social media and community engagement campaigns.

Souster Youth is an exciting Christian youth work organisation in the east Northamptonshire area. We transform the social, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing of young people in our area through our work in schools and the local community. Based at Souster Youth Trust, Thrapston, Northamptonshire, the Director leads a team of 4 staff and over 20 volunteers.

As Director, you will be motivated by your Christian faith to inspire hope in the lives of young people. You will have vision and strategic ability to lead Souster Youth. Key Responsibilities

1. To lead the development and implementation of the vision and strategy of Souster Youth Trust.
2. To develop and promote the trust as a leading, innovative, and valued charity, supported by young people, schools, churches and the wider community.
3. To lead the staff team and volunteers, ensuring safe recruitment, management and appraisals, support, training and development.

The Role: 

The Chief Officer will lead and manage Citizens Advice St Helens (CASH) while developing and implementing strategic and operational plans. Responsible for delivering strategic development through the effective management and development of services, the Chief Officer will build strong and sustainable relationships with key stakeholders at a strategic, national, regional, and local level. 

They will work collaboratively with the staff team and board to ensure there is an inclusive, rights-based approach to work that also conforms with the requirements of the Charity Commission, Companies House and HMRC. The Chief Officer is responsible for the economic viability, financial welfare, and sustainability of the charity, as well as driving and nurturing the staff team to continue delivering quality standards across the organisation. 

To be considered for the Chief Officer role at CASH, you must be a proven leader and manager with experience working within a senior management team. This role will require someone with a demonstrable track record of innovation and success in business development and income generation, able to engage funding bodies and donors, as well as creating strong and successful content for winning contracts/grants. Your experience will be underpinned by excellent communication skills at both a strategic level within and outside the organisation, coupled with excellent resourcing methods. 

In a senior leadership role, it's typical to hold budgetary responsibility and possess broad financial management experience. Considering the nature of Citizens Advice St Helens' work, we expect you to have a comprehensive understanding of the advice sector and experience with equity, diversity, and inclusion best practices. Additionally, you must demonstrate an awareness and understanding of the issues faced by residents in St Helens, such as poverty, unemployment, and health challenges. These issues are not unique to St Helens but are encountered across the UK, and we welcome applications from individuals with experience addressing similar issues in other regions.

About the Gatehouse:

It is a volunteer and donation-led registered charity supported by the whole Oxfordshire community, including churches and congregations of other faiths in Oxford. The Gatehouse community drop-in centre offers free support services for adults aged 25+ who are homeless, vulnerably housed, on low income, and/or looking for company and community. The Gatehouse offers a free café (six evenings a week), therapeutic workshops, and a bespoke one-to-one support service (over two evenings and one afternoon a week). The project also delivers an outreach service, an independent counselling service, and supports the Lived Experience Advisory Forum (LEAF). The Gatehouse is experiencing rapid growth and is eager to expand its leadership team to support its exciting plans.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

We are seeking an experienced and influential leader to join us as our new Chief Executive.  You will play a critical role in leading the organisation and representing PATA and its members in the ever-evolving Early Education and Children’s Play sectors.

PATA is the largest voluntary sector provider of support to the Early Years and Play (Out of School) sector in Gloucestershire.  We are a Charity based in Gloucester with around 170 member settings and manage five of our own Early Years settings (PATA Managed Groups (PMGs)).  Our mission is to support the development of high quality and accessible early education, play and provision for children, young people and their families.

At its heart, PATA is a people-based organisation and you will be joining a strong and committed team, both in the Head Office and the PMGs.  You will lead the organisation, working with the Board of Trustees in setting the strategic vision, mission and priorities.  You will be a voice for PATA and its members, building partnerships, participating in consultation processes, and challenging policy and other initiatives for the benefit of the sector, as and when appropriate.

The role is part time, 21 hours per week, 42 weeks annually, to be worked flexibly to meet business need, as agreed with the Chair of Trustees and in association with the Senior Management Team. There is flexibility for this to be a hybrid role with a minimum of 2 days based from the Head Office in Gloucester.

Key Responsibilities
 

Strategy Development and Implementation

• Leading the organisation through the iterative development and implementation of strategic projects to serve the ambition of Resurgo, to “inspire and equip organisations to deliver ambitious and sustainable social change”
• Provide direction and support to Heads of Department, setting them up to succeed in the implementation of ambitious plans
• Line management of the Strategy Managaer, who project manages and drives the delivery of annual departmental targets and strategic projects across the organisation.

Finance

• Line management of Head of Finance, providing strategic leadership in the development of the finance function and oversight of organisational financial management
• Lead the annual planning process, working with the Head of Finance and Director of People, Culture & Operations to shape and deliver annual financial planning

Oversight of Governance, Risk and Opportunity

• Executive Chair of the Strategy, Finance and Risk steering group, owning the most significant risks and opportunities facing Resurgo at an organisational level, ensuring actions are taken to mitigate risks and that we are set up to maximise opportunity
• Responsible for overseeing governance structures and ensuring they are fit for purpose as the organisation develops and grows
• Supporting the Executive Assistant to the CEO in the facilitation of the effective running of the Boards of Resurgo Trust and Resurgo Consulting, including planning and overseeing Board and key Steering Group meetings.

Active Participation in and Support for Resurgo’s team and mission

• Help build and develop Resurgo’s ethos and Christian life as a team member, including leading and contributing to daily team prayer meetings as an integral part of Resurgo’s operation and for the success of its mission

About the role

As CEO, you'll support us through a new stage in our development. We're operating in a fluid political environment and so our new leader needs to be confident to work in a political setting while also having the skills and experience to run an organisation like ours.

You'll take ultimate responsibility for our campaign to achieve Proportional Representation in the House of Commons. You will:

• as leader of the campaign, be primarily responsible for building the popular and political momentum needed to secure this seismic reform;
• as leader of the organisation, be primarily responsible for defining and executing MVM’s strategy, while ensuring its good financial health and legal and regulatory compliance; and
• as leader to our staff and volunteer team, be primarily responsible for providing clarity of direction while ensuring the organisation maintains a collaborative, empowering and inspiring culture.

You will:

• lead the UK campaign for Proportional Representation;
• ensure MVM has a clear external brand, with consistent messages, effective and emotive arguments, and impactful use of evidence;
• be a spokesperson for the organisation on a variety of public platforms including national media and at key MVM events;
• create and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders;
• lead on development of MVM's post-election strategic plan;
• line manage and delegate responsibilities to staff, as appropriate;
• take ultimate responsibility for the good governance of MVM, including but not limited to the organisation’s financial health, legal compliance, and good standing with regulatory bodies;
• with support of relevant MVM staff, to ensure that the Board is supported in performing its governance role;
• support and comply with MVM’s policies active within the organisation pertinent to the role; and
• undertake other related duties as required to assist MVM in meeting its objectives.

About the Team

This interim role reports to the Director of Communications, Policy and Campaigns (CPC), alongside other Assistant Directors.

The CPC team drives Shelter's campaigns for social housing and renters' rights, supporting our services and income generation efforts.

You'll manage heads of important content and engagement teams, driving strategic direction and collaboration across functions.

About the Role

As Assistant Director Communications and Content, you'll lead Shelter's communication efforts, ensuring impact, reach and a coherent organisational voice.

You'll oversee media teams, drive cross-channel campaigns, and develop ambitious communication strategies. With your experience in matrix management and project/change management, you'll guide teams to achieve our strategic goals amidst organisational change.

About You

We're seeking candidates with extensive experience leading and managing media and communications teams, along with a track record of developing impactful cross-channel campaigns. Your ability to navigate complexity, build collaborative relationships, and drive strategic change will be crucial in this role.

Located in the Chiltern Hills, commutable from Oxford and London, Garsington Opera is an internationally renowned performing arts venue. Garsington Opera provides a wonderful programme of opera as part of its summer festival, promoting artistic excellence in partnership with world-renowned orchestras such as the Philharmonia Orchestra and The English Concert. Garsington Opera is proud of its Young Artists’ programme, supporting emerging professional singers and creatives in training, mental wellbeing, and practical support.

Following a period of growth and the completion of their new £14.5m Garsington Studios, Garsington Opera are seeking a talented Chief Financial Officer to join them to drive strategic and commercial goals for this internationally renowned and well-loved performing arts organisation.

About The Role

The newly created Chief Financial Officer role will support Garsington Opera in driving longer-term commercial and strategic growth. Working closely with the Executive Director and as part of the senior management team, you will optimise new revenue streams and ensure business and financial systems are fit for purpose in supporting new revenue growth.  Areas of responsibility will include:

Financial strategy and planning

• Collaborate with the SMT to plan, manage and advise on financial performance, maintaining a robust model to meet organisational needs including annual budgeting and long-term planning.
• Develop and maintain robust business and financial models to meet the evolving needs of the organisation.
• Steer and develop commercial revenue streams. 
• Provide financial vision, strategic planning and discipline across the organisation.

Financial accounting and management

• Oversee, maintain and develop good financial reporting and statutory compliance, in collaboration with the Finance Director
• Oversee the preparation of accounts for external audit work.
• Provide information to SMT budget holders, challenging plans where appropriate and always seeking opportunities to optimise financial performance.

Leadership

• Provide reports on financial information and trends to the Board and its committees.
• Provide excellent team leadership as a member of SMT, engaging with all direct and indirect reports.
•  Develop and lead effective and robust procurement policies for the organisation, ensuring that needs are understood and resourced appropriately.
• Staff management of finance team

About You

• You will be a fully qualified accountant with senior financial leadership experience.
• You will have proven experience in engaging with Board members and Executive or Senior Management Teams.
• Applicants from all sectors are encouraged to apply, though an interest and passion for the arts is a must.

What’s in it for you?

• Salary of £80,000 - £90,000 per annum dependent on experience
• Annual leave: 24 days + Bank Holidays (incremental increases up to 28 days thereafter dependent on years of  service)
• This role can be offered on a full time or part-time basis. Applicants who are able to work either full time or 0.8 FTE  are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Hybrid working of 3 days in office and remainder up to you (please note that we are happy to discuss alternative patterns of working within reason).
• 4 x Dress rehearsal tickets for each opera performed each year.
