You will contribute to the Charity’s strategic planning, governance and lead on quality improvement and financial and performance management of operational services and will also have responsibility for the achievement of key objectives within the Charity’s Strategy and Business Plan in conjunction with the Chief Executive, Deputy Chief Executive and Service Manager roles.

Do you have what we are looking for?

Applicants must have the following qualifications and experience (further requirements are contained within the job description):

· A level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification or a willingness to work towards

· Management experience in the health and social care sector

· Experience of working as part of a Senior Management structure within health and social care or working with and reporting into a senior management team and board of trustees

· Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of regulation and legislation in relation to the children and adult disability sector.

· A good understanding of CQC and the ability and experience to ensure service provisions meet the required standards to achieve a “good” rating at the very least.

· Experience in implementing and/or adhering to Quality Assurance frameworks and an understanding of the importance of these in supporting and positively impacting good quality service provision

We have an exciting opportunity to join Centre 404’s Learning and Leisure team as the manager of our Day Opportunities service.  This service supports adults with a wide range of needs to be active members of the community, increase their independence, develop their life skills and set themselves goals and achievements to work towards.

The post holder will be responsible for line managing the team who plan and deliver a broad programme of social and educational community-based activities.  You will oversee the smooth running of the service and be responsible for quality assurance while ensuring the identified aims of the programme are met. You will also oversee all associated administration, the recruitment and management of relevant staff and volunteers, and contribute to the running and ongoing development of the service.

The role will involve balancing multiple priorities, including strategic planning as well as hands-on work alongside the rest of the team, ensuring a person-centred approach is maintained at all times and involving people in decision-making structures. This job does require you to be an experienced manager who has planned and developed sessions for people with learning disabilities and led and motivated a team to ensure positive outcomes for people using the service.

We are seeking a passionate, dynamic individual to take on the role of Garden Community Hub Coordinator for our site in Tooting.

The role will involve supporting our garden move and coordinating the development of our site and provision in our new space. This will include working closely with the team to develop new projects delivered from the site and coordinating the transition of our operations. You will also oversee the growth and development of the Share Garden Centre, our customer-facing enterprise, enabling it to flourish. In managing the Garden Centre, you will ensure that it provides excellent training and work experience for our students as well as being the plant centre of choice for local people.

You will work closely with our Lead Horticulture Trainer and Head of Training to support the delivery of training and therapeutic activities in the garden. You will report into the Head of Volunteering and Community Services to ensure the smooth transition of the site activities into our new temporary building as well as planning our operations ahead of the move to our permanent new space. You will line manage our Project Support Worker and Cleaner, work closely with the garden team and across departments to develop and deliver our provision for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism. You will ensure the space, activities and provision is a welcoming, supportive and safe environment for students, external members, and volunteers. You’ll be inclusive and person-centred in your approach at all times.

Fundraising Officer

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced fundraiser or a candidate with transferrable skills who is looking for their next challenge.

This fundraising role is varied and fun and may suit someone who has worked in fundraising for a few years and understands the diverse range of responsibilities that come with the role. You should be able to work well in a small team and be prepared to adapt cheerfully to changes and challenges that may crop up daily.

Your main area of responsibility will be for generating income by writing proposals to Trust and Foundations, working with service managers across the country to research and build compelling cases for support across the organisation.

We are looking for someone who can secure multi-year grants and core funding support through creating high value applications and also have the skills to research and fire off multiple applications to smaller trusts for small projects on a daily basis.

Experience in meeting fundraising targets would be useful but not essential.  An important aspect of the role will be maintaining up to date reporting systems of approaches and successes and fulfilling grant obligations to funders.

As part of a small fundraising team and you will also work with your colleagues to further develop the Walk for Autism fundraising campaign and be instrumental in developing a high quality supporter journey using email, texts and social media.  Developing digital fundraising is one of our main strategies so a willingness to learn new skills in this area is a key part of the role.

You will be required to work outside of office hours occasionally with some travel to services around the UK.  It would be helpful to have a driving licence but it’s not essential.  This position is subject to a Disclosure from the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) that will be met by Autism Initiatives.

What you will be doing

This role supports the delivery of our Individual Giving programme, specifically in support of our Puppy Sponsorship Scheme. The Corporate and Individual Giving Manager is responsible for generating sustainable income by identifying, engaging with, and securing funding through individuals and corporate donor relationships.

Establishing sustainable fundraising streams is a top priority for the centre. This role will play a crucial part in strengthening our strategy for Individual and Corporate Giving, with a keen focus on continuous growth. Key responsibilities include identifying and cultivating a pipeline of prospective donor relationships, as well as creating compelling corporate fundraising campaigns and providing personalised stewardship to both attract new supporters and nurture existing relationship.

This role will sit within the wider Income and Generation Team. There is a recognition that some aspects of this role might, at times, overlap with the remit of other team members (for instance, corporate foundations, corporate volunteering). There will also be an expectation that both the Head of Income Generation and Marketing and the CEO are actively involved in Income Generation from Individuals as well as Corporates, especially where High Net Worth (HNW) and more strategic partnerships are concerned. A key requirement for success in this role is to be able to function well in the context of a team setting.

Do you want to support students to identify and achieve their goals and aspirations? We need a dedicated Wellbeing Officer to join our Wellbeing Team. You’ll be responsible for building excellent rapport with students and working with the Head of Student Wellbeing, Quality and Impact to develop support plans and resources for the students to be their best self.

Main responsibilities 

• You’ll work with the Wellbeing team and wider staff to manage daily interactions with students 

• You’ll be responsible for student welfare and safeguarding at various sites 

• You’ll advise staff on student’s goals, needs and communication strategies to help the student get the best learning experience

• You have experience working within a social care environment and providing services that directly empower and enable disabled people 

• You have experience working in a way that promotes self-advocacy and supports people to make their own choices 

• You have the ability to build rapport with people at different and different abilities 

• Most importantly, you’re passionate about helping disabled people enjoy more autonomy and you understand how to make this happen

This brand new role within the Innovation Team, will use an existing evidence base to develop robust policy positions which will enable greater accessibility to a range of future transport modes and technologies.

The aim of this charity is to improve transport accessibility for people with disabilities now and in the future. Their policy work will be rooted in structured research, drawing out themes across transport modes and disability types to tell a clear story about what changes would make the biggest difference to disabled people.

In this role you will work to proactively identify opportunities to influence emerging from a portfolio of innovation projects. You will lead on the charity’s responses to high-profile Government consultations, and where there is alignment you may engage with external partners for mutual benefit. You will develop and implement a specific research programme geared towards supporting us to develop robust policy positions.

Key responsibilities will include;

• Commissioning research specifically geared towards supporting development of robust policy positions.
• Using insights to develop a structured evidence bank and developing policy-relevant themes across key areas.
• Engaging with key external stakeholders in disability and transport to understand the policy positions of other organisations and share back our own.
• Proactively identifying opportunities to influence policy where it may have a positive impact for disabled people.
• Leading on responding to consultations, working closely with the Innovation and Communications Teams, and with external partners and allies where appropriate

The ideal candidate will have;

• Experience commissioning robust qualitative and quantitative research.
• Experience using research findings and evidence to develop robust policy positions and respond to high-profile Government consultations.
• Experience proactively identifying opportunities to influence.
• Ability to facilitate sensitive internal conversations to reach a point of consensus on policy positions.
• Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders in Government, industry, and other charities and foundations.
• Exceptional written and oral influencing skills, including the judicious use of data and evidence and the compelling presentation of the case for change.

This is a hybrid position requiring 2 day per week from the head office in Harlow, Essex. The office is well connected by public transport links.
