We are now looking for a committed individual to join our Gig Buddy team. The role holder will help to deliver a broad range of social activities which increase fun, friends, confidence and independence for our members with a learning disability.

Context of Job
AFK (Action For Kids) is a national charity helping young people with disabilities to develop their independence and find employment. Our vision is a world where all people living with a disability get to lead the life they choose. As part of this we provide bespoke employment skills and organise work experience placements across North London. At a national level, we provide mobility equipment not available on the NHS for disabled children and young people up to the age of 26.
Job Purpose
To support young people aged 18+ who have disabilities and/or are neurodiverse to gain employment. The role will be to primarily liaise with businesses and employers to broker new opportunities for supported and unsupported employment. You will also work with a small caseload of young people, assessing their employability skills. You will work closely with the Employment & Skills team to place young people from the Employment Coaches caseloads into employment, as well as locate some voluntary roles and work placements. You will deliver one to one job coaching to enable young people to progress towards their own goals and objectives.
Working Conditions
The post is 35 hours a week, normally between 9.30am – 5.30pm. The post holder may be expected to work some evenings and weekends as required by the job. There is a TOIL policy. This role is peripatetic within London.
Principle Responsibilities
- Engage with businesses and employers to source and secure employment opportunities for the young people AFK work with.
- Encourage businesses and employers to offer volunteering, work tasters and work placements that may also lead to paid opportunities for young people.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of the local labour market & opportunities relating to employment, work tasters, work placements and volunteering.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with local employer groups, statutory, voluntary and private organisations to support the development of suitable opportunities.
- Participate in employer visits with young people to engage them in the different workplace roles to further aid their choices in employment.
- Provide training / advice to employers as required.
- Provide employment support for the Employment & Skills team and produce monthly updates in line with AFKs key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Work with 1 or 2 young people to identify and support their aspirations for future employment.
- Identify any financial implications for individuals relating to full and part-time employment in connection with disability benefits.
- Work closely with the Senior Employment Coach to match opportunities for young people from the caseloads of Employment Coaches.
- Participate in regular 1-1 supervision with the Employment & Skills manager.
- Support young people in the workplace if required.
- Refer young people for specialist advice and support where appropriate.
- Monitor the progress of individuals and keep appropriate records.
- Provide timely reports and keep AFK recording systems up to date.
- Undertake necessary administrative duties relating to the role.
- Undertake learning & development as identified via appraisals and reviews.
- Carry out other duties as deemed appropriate to the post by the Executive Director of Services and the Employment & Skills manager.

This a front-line role, delivering a family support service in person in Lambeth. The successful candidate will be based in our offices in Lambeth. Much of the work will involve outreach and delivery in Early Years settings, child development centres and nurseries throughout Lambeth. - Experience of working with and supporting families who have disabled children, and in particular, working with families who have disabled children aged 0-2 years
- Good communication responsive to the needs of families of very young children who may be facing uncertainty and challenges at the beginning of understanding their child’s additional needs
- Good organisational and administrative skills
- Knowledge and experience of the issues and concerns that affect families who have disabled children e.g. leisure provision, education, respite care.

Haven House Children’s Hospice supports hundreds of families, looking after children and young people who have life-limiting or life-threatening conditions. Our mission is to provide the highest quality palliative and holistic care services to children and their families in our local communities. Since the hospice began it has gone from strength to strength both in terms of the care we provide to children and families as well as the close bonds we have developed and nurtured with individuals and organisations in our community who are inspired by our work.
This is a great time to join the team at Haven House, our Community & Events team are working on a new strategy to increase income and engagement with our local community. This new and exciting role will give the successful candidate the opportunity to work across our community and event income lines, taking responsibility for raising income from a wide variety of supporters. We’re looking for an individual who can hit the ground running, complimenting a team that proactively develops and drives our community and events portfolio.
At Haven House the focus within the Income Generation and Marketing Team is to put the supporter and donor at the centre of everything we do, ensuring they feel inspired by our work and the children and families we support; engaged and committed to our cause and ultimately make a commitment to do something amazing.

CamSight is a respected charity that supports people living with low vision and blindness in Cambridgeshire to live the lives they choose. The charity offers an holistic service ensuring any person with a vision impairment gets the support they need, when they need it.
We are looking to recruit a Community and Events Fundraiser to raise the profile and awareness of CamSight and increase income through developing and securing a range of funding streams including individual supporters, challenge events, community, and digital fundraising. The post holder will help to develop and ensure the effective delivery of the community fundraising strategy in relation to generating sustainable income from third parties, brand campaigns and challenge events.
The role will help grow our portfolio of events, working collaboratively to explore ideas and launch new initiatives to help us achieve our mission. The role plays an important part in helping us to meet our fundraising targets by increasing participation and community engagement in our events and fundraising activities.
We are also currently recruiting for a part-time (21 hours) Corporate and Partnerships Fundraiser and would welcome applicants interested in a full-time role (35 hours a week) covering both job descriptions. If this is of interest, please make this clear in your covering letter.
