As COO you will serve as the first point of contact representing FMHT in, we envisage, an increasingly high-profile public manner.  You will report to the Chair of Trustees, working collaboratively with the Trustees.  You will also collaborate with a variety of charities, institutions and agencies, all with shared interests in our work.

The organisation:
We are excited to be working with a very well-known international development charity to help them find a Head of Individual Giving for a 12 month maternity contract. They are looking for an experienced fundraiser with a strong leadership track record, who can help them with their mission of alleviating poverty around the world. 

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the development and delivery of a cost effective individual donor recruitment strategy
• Recruit new individual donors, targeting individuals who have greatest potential to continue their support for the work of the charity throughout their lifetime and by engaging in whole life response
• Plan and execute strategic brand and marketing campaigns designed to appeal to new audiences of individuals and families who have not previously supported the charity, using multiple marketing channels including, but not limited to digital advertising, social media, PR, OOH, TV, radio and print.

The Role

Knowledge of the current trusts and statutory and fundraising market, including potential supporters. Knowledge of developing and delivering compelling pitches and applications to trusts.
Knowledge of the requirements and expectations of working in the charity sector.
Experience of working in a fundraising management role or equivalent, with a track record of developing and maintaining relationships with partners and/or potential supporters that ultimately generate income.
Experience of managing a trusts fundraising programme, and developing a trusts pipeline or equivalent.

We are working in partnership with The Honeypot Children’s Charity, a UK charity who are looking for an experienced Head of Lottery and Statutory Grants to research, identify and deliver six figure level income through National Lottery and Statutory funders.

With headquarters in London, and three respite houses situated in the South of England, Wales and Scotland, the Honeypot continuously supports young carers aged 5 to 12 years old, who perform a surrogate adult role as a carer for a loved one, often single-handedly, and whose wellbeing is at significant risk, leading to anxiety, isolation, poor confidence, and low self-esteem.

This newly created role the Head of Lottery and Statutory Grants will lead and develop a new income stream for the Charity, researching and developing a sustainable and key pipeline of six figure income through National Lottery and Statutory funders.

The successful candidate will:

• Demonstrate a proven track record of succeeding six figure level gifts, with direct experience of researching the National Lotteries and statutory landscapes to explore opportunities to develop six figure plus proposals for Statutory funders, or equivalent,
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills to inspire through compelling storytelling and deliver exceptional bid evaluation and proposal writing abilities to produce thorough and compelling grant proposals and reports that communicate aims and impact.

The NSP is an advisory group which has performed a key role in providing reference to, and scrutiny of, the Church’s development of national safeguarding policy and guidance over the last three years. 

The NSP is looking to appoint an experienced independent Chair who will lead the National Safeguarding Panel, provide excellent leadership, direction and independent scrutiny and challenge to the Church of England and bring external expertise from holding a highly senior role. 

They are looking for an independent chair who:

• Is a gifted leader, who will support the Church of England in further strengthening its safeguarding arrangements and partnerships;
• Is passionate about working collaboratively at all levels, with a proven track record in improvement work at a national level;
• Knows how to hold organisations to account and possesses the skills to support the development of senior leaders;
• Has a good understanding and experience of the core aspects of safeguarding in the field of statutory and/or voluntary sector at a senior level;
• Is empathetic, strategic, emotional and has analytical skills, and able to act as a ‘critical friend’ in supporting and challenging people and institutions to help improve their safeguarding practice and arrangements;
• Has a relevant academic or professional qualification.

The successful candidate will have safeguarding expertise, with a natural empathy for the needs and experiences of children and/or adults who have been abused.  You will be a senior leader, with excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
