About the role.
As Head of Fundraising and a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you’ll work closely with the CEO to devise the organisation’s fundraising strategy as they enter a positive and ambitious new five-year plan.
There is a very well-established trust and foundation fundraising programme, which you’ll work to continue and expand, building on existing relationships and spotting opportunities to create new partnerships with relevant funders. Using creativity, you will secure multiyear unrestricted six-figure grants from an array of grantmakers as you continue the diversification of this income stream.
The charity is continuing the expansion of its fundraising strategy to incorporate new income streams, a project you’ll spearhead with the launch of digital fundraising. You’ll target individual givers to open up new revenue sources through digital sources as you tap into the goodwill for the charity and its work across the nation.

We are seeking an experienced fundraiser and emotionally intelligent manager with expertise in imaginative bid-writing for significant multiyear grants. A combined strategic and operational outlook will be crucial to this role and the success of fundraising.
You will be process-driven but creative with a desire to try new things and collaborate with colleagues to create new and exciting projects to attract funders and expand the charity’s impact.

The successful candidate will be an experienced Programme Manager with significant knowledge of project management, partnership working and domestic energy efficiency/low carbon heating. Experience of delivering domestic retrofit-related projects, defined as home energy efficiency or heating improvements to reduce energy consumption or carbon would be hugely beneficial - however if not, a strong understanding and knowledge in this area will be crucial. You must be passionate about driving practical solutions to the climate emergency and happy working in a small team, with the ability to work across all levels with the need to be hands on.

Role overview.
Complete international grant expenditure audits for a diverse range of projects (grant recipients) funded by international donor institutions ranging from emergency aid, to long term development in areas such as agriculture, health or infrastructure or technical research. Assignments are 1-3 weeks in length and based across the European mainland and the developing world. These are offered on an assignment by assignment basis, one to two months in advance.

Requirements
- Qualified ACA / ACCA or equivalent – 5+ years post qualified experience
- Grant management and audit and reporting experience with international institutions. Preference given to individuals that have worked on UN or EC grant assurance assignments

Role: Major Gifts Manager
Salary: £35,000 - £37,200
Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week), and part-time condensed hours will be considered
Location: Home-based in Scotland with occasional regional travel including to Glasgow and Edinburgh
Benefits: Up to 16% employer pension contribution, 23 days annual leave rising to 26 days

About the role
As Major Gifts Manager, you'll join the charities growing philanthropy team working on a portfolio of £5-100k+ gifts where you'll steward Major Donors in Scotland and work on building a new pipeline of high networth individuals. With a warm pool of prospects, and exciting and varied programmes to talk to them about, you'll be part of a vibrant and supportive culture where people are encouraged to try new things and get creative. Led by a supportive and collaborative team who believe in empowering each other, you'll be given the freedom to work in the way that best suits you.
About you
You've got a proven track record of making the ask at the five/six figure mark. You create inspiring and emotive proposals, tailored to the individual with a focus on outcomes and impact. You're confident in picking up the phone and getting out to meet donors, where you communicate and influence effectively. You thrive in a homeworking environment, managing your time well and organising a pipeline of work independently. Whilst previous philanthropy experience would come in handy, we are open to applications from fundraisers with transferable skills and experience in other income streams but you must be able to demonstrate you understand the theory of how Philanthropy works. What we'll also need you to demonstrate is a talent for relationship building and a passion for stewardship; the ability to listen carefully and intuitively to shape opportunities for donors to give. In this role, you'll be the friendly point of contact for IT support. We're seeking someone with a genuine passion for installing, configuring, and maintaining software and hardware components, ensuring smooth operations across computer and network systems. Your knack for problem-solving and dedication to helping others will shine as you research, diagnose, and troubleshoot issues, offering assistance via phone, in person, or electronically.
