As CFG's Policy Officer you will make an impactful contribution to CFG's policy and advocacy work. Working with a wide range of stakeholders, including policy-makers, charity members and corporate partners, you will contribute to the smooth running of the Policy Team's work and effectiveness. You will be comfortable using your research and analytical skills to ensure CFG remains at the forefront of its advocacy work on behalf of its members and the wider sector. You will have a passion for getting to grips with complex policy issues and bringing people together to engage with them. As a member of the Policy and Communications Directorate, you'll work alongside the Communications Team and other colleagues to ensure our policy work is shared with a range of external audiences. CFG promotes remote-first working, although we do have office space at our registered address in Southwark, SE London for those team members who prefer an office setting. We expect all of our team members to attend all staff, directorate, or team anchor days on a regular basis in London. All staff anchor days are currently quarterly, and directorate and smaller team anchor days are organised on an ad hoc basis. Please note that attending our flagship events will be required for this role, as well as work outside core hours occasionally as part of our events programme.

Supporter Engagement is one of the most important teams that is central to the success of Alzheimer’s Society. The function of the team is to manage multi-channel communications with our supporters, both inbound and outbound. The team manage emails, telephone calls and social media interactions and is part of the wider Supporter Experience Department.
The team has a very bespoke tone of voice when managing the high volume of interactions but has the autonomy to manage their own workday within guidelines. Support is second to none and we pride ourselves on having a very open communication style between all members of the team so that help is available for you to be successful in your role.
In this role you will be the first point of contact delivering an excellent supporter experience to members of the public and Alzheimer’s Society’s supporters. You will have enriching one to one conversations across different channels, including phone, email and Social Media. Through answering queries and proactively delivering exceptional levels of stewardship you will build rapport and inspire supporters and potential supporters about our work, whilst maintaining accurate system records that reflect and enhance the supporter experience.

About you
- Comfortable communicating with a variety of people. Our interactions are varied and you will be responding to supporters who need different levels of support and therefore you will go from adopting an empathetic approach to being more upbeat, therefore a flexibility is needed.
- Able to form strong relationships with supporters but also with our internal stakeholder teams.
- Able to contribute to discussions around continuous improvement within the team.
- Be passionate about improving processes so that our supporters have the best experience.
- Think creatively with the ability to influence new ideas to support a team who take pride in wanting to excel.
Person Specification
- Excellent and professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent IT skills and extensive experience/knowledge on using Microsoft packages.
- Work collaboratively and be able to prioritise your workload effectively.
- Excellent organisational skills and great attention to detail.

Salary: £40,845 per annum rising to £42,996 after 12 months in London. £36,817 per annum rising to £38,968 after 12 months outside of London.

We’re looking for someone with a strategic mindset to join our interdisciplinary team of consultants.
At NCVO we run our consultancy and training services as a social business. We provide cost effective and high-quality support focused on the areas which matter most to charities. Our work generates income and valuable insights to support NCVO in achieving our mission.
Our business is growing, and we’re looking for a passionate and innovative team player to help us provide expert strategy support to clients across England. You’ll need to be a confident facilitator attuned to the needs of the sector, identifying emerging themes and areas of support.
The role focuses on the delivery of consultancy and training. It is responsible for meeting income targets, managing project budgets, and coordinating projects. This is done with oversight and support from senior and lead consultants.
You will:
- develop bids and work with clients independently – gaining input and agreement from other consultants on viability and the decision to bid
- pitch for work
- manage and coordinate projects from end to end, with support from senior and lead consultants
- communicate and influence effectively
- coordinate the work of existing associates and agree fees within an established framework.
You don’t need to have experience working as a consultant before. But we need you to be curious, analytical and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
As well as being motivated by creating change for our clients through consultancy, mentoring and training, you will also need to be energised by hitting targets on utilisation and income. Please see the job description for full details.
