To support this mission, we are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to help drive our new commercial strategy and increase our income from business and commercial activity.

What you will be doing:
Main Role Responsibilities
- To work with the Head of Commercial and Events on the development of the commercial strategy with the support of Trustees, the senior leadership team, members and other staff and stakeholders as necessary.
- To be responsible for identifying and delivering key income streams, as outlined in the commercial strategy to meet agreed financial targets and KPIs.
- To manage existing and develop new relationships with customers to ensure customer satisfactions whilst achieving and maximising income opportunities.
- Measure and evaluate the success of the commercial strategy business development and income generation workstreams.
- To represent the NFCC to corporate audiences and at corporate events, delivering pitches and presentations.
- To continually be researching new business opportunities for specific target markets.
- To develop new corporate partnerships through relationship building.
- To be responsible for the account management of appropriate partnerships and provide the highest level of relationship management.
- Preparation of reports, briefing papers and other information on various matters, when required.to the senior management team and Trustees including liaison with senior members and officers across the National Fire Chiefs Council, other relevant staff across Fire and Rescue Services.
- Act as liaison and first point of contact for commercial enquiries into the NFCC and dealing with them as appropriate. Enquiries may be from within the organisation, other fire and rescue services or elsewhere.
- To create and assist in the drafting of timely and well-informed reports, business cases and provide advice regarding commercial developments.
- Develop an effective network with Fire and Rescue Service sector groups and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain management processes and systems that provide for clear and understandable management information.

You will manage the contract for the day-to-day financial operations and work with the outsourced finance team to clear backlogs of sales invoices (working with SMT project leads), finalise raising invoices process/ sales invoice timetable, establish petty cash reconciliation process, establish new system for expenses and coordinate payment runs. You will also complete monthly pension contribution submissions and contribute to the production of financial statements and the delivery of a successful audit . You will perform any other reasonable tasks required by the CEO.
This role requires proven experience of using insight and analysis to provide trends, inform and drive business decisions and experience of formulating, overseeing and reporting on operational plans, including KPIs.
The successful candidate will have a strategic, collaborative and solution focused approach to support excellent service provision and fiscal responsibility. They will also show demonstrable innovative ability; using data and insight to inform recommendations for improvements to products, processes or activities. You’ll be responsible for planning, developing and executing a content strategy, in line with Change Grow Lives strategic priorities, working closely with the Communications Leadership team and senior stakeholders across the organisation.
We’re looking for someone who can be flexible, but a strong advocate when it comes to offering professional advice and guidance. You’ll be working closely with colleagues in our creative hub, across digital, design and content to shape audience experiences.
Your excellent writing and content production skills will be invaluable in identifying powerful stories about how we are making a difference to people’s lives, within a complex organisation. We’re looking for someone creative, compassionate, and resourceful who cares about making society better and safer for as many people as possible.

Surveyor and Property Manager
Salary: £48,459 - £51,010 per annum

About the role
We are inviting applications for the role of Surveyor and Property Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a non-profit organisation where everyone plays an important part in achieving our charitable aims. In this role, the Surveyor and Property Manager acts as our principal source of professional expertise to the Association for all property related matters. Primary responsibilities include:
- Conducting valuations of the Association’s property to conform to RICS Red Book Standards
- Maximise rates of return and the best means of marketing properties identified for disposal
- Maintaining an up-to-date property portfolio which includes compliance with statutory requirements,
- Ongoing maintenance planning
- Advising on the correct application of legislation as it relates to property, including the acquisitions and disposal of properties
- Negotiating and drafting lease agreements
About You
As you would expect, the Surveyor and Property Manager postholder will need to hold a professional chartered surveyor qualification (RICS) and have experience of leading and managing a property portfolio across a commercial environment with a diverse range of buildings. Other essential requirements include.
- Robust knowledge of legislative requirements in relation to building management.
- Experience in negotiating property contracts, undertaking and preparing reports on valuation of property
- A confident and persuasive negotiator to manage difficult conversations with Clubs and Tenants
- Leadership ability to manage a small team at Atlas House (HQ)
- Able to attend the office in Leicester at least one day per week (Wednesdays preferred)
- Prepared to travel to properties as required (you can plan your own schedule!)

The Head of Fundraising & Communications will operate as an effective member of the Leadership Team, reporting directly to the CEO and acting as the strategic lead for Baca’s fundraising and communications activity.
Given the fluctuating nature of statutory income (currently c.75% of total income) it will be the responsibility of the Head of Fundraising & Communications to develop and implement a fundraising strategy that enables the organisation to diversify its income portfolio, ensuring a sustainable funding model that spreads risk and allows for greater donor engagement.
There is a blank canvas to be creative and try new things, with lots of scope for the successful applicant to determine where the network opportunities might lie, build long term relationships and develop an exciting programme of external communications and engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate as an effective member of the Leadership Team, working collaboratively to ensure the delivery of organisational objectives.
- Develop, lead and deliver the fundraising strategy – focused on diversification and sustainable income whilst remaining hands on in the establishment of new income streams.
- Establish clear stewardship plans for all supporters, maximising their engagement with Baca.
- Develop and implement the communications strategy – utilising external comms to engage supporters and underpin income generation whilst raising awareness about the issues faced by unaccompanied child refugees.
- Oversee the generation of tailored, multimedia content that raises awareness of Baca and drives increased support.
Person Specification:
- Aligned with Baca’s values of: Respect, Integrity, Passion, Grace, Compassion and Wisdom.
- Proven expertise of fundraising across different income streams (e.g. trusts and foundations, community, regional, philanthropy). Expertise of developing new income streams from scratch/a low base would be beneficial but not essential.
- Relational approach – focused on developing long term commitments and support from key stakeholders and donor audiences.
- Experience of working in a communications role/closely with communications teams to maximise the opportunities to engage externally and increase support/awareness.
- Creative approach to fundraising, with realistic ambitions within a small charity environment.

As an Area Manager you will give leadership, direction and guidance to the staff of Medaille Trust to ensure the provision and development of a high quality service in line with the Trust’s Mission, Values and Strategy.
You will have a good understanding of the CQC framework relating to Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking. You will carry out quarterly assurance audits in all safe houses ensuring any appropriate action is taken where necessary.
You will line manage, induct, mentor, coach and support Service Managers. Additionally, you will ensure that any complaints, grievances and disciplinaries are investigated and responded to in an effective and timely manner in line with Medaille Policies.
Although the post is home based, the post holder will be expected to travel frequently to our safe houses within the South and London areas with some overnight stays.
You must have previous experience in a relevant sector or experience of working with adults that are vulnerable. Experience of managing staff, carrying out line management, supervision and appraisals is essential. Additionally, you must have experience of setting up Service User Engagement groups.
