The Access Foundation is focused on making a real difference to people’s lives by awarding grants to charities which make a valuable and measurable positive impact. Our grant giving objectives fall into three categories:

to mitigate the digital divide by making computing facilities, support and learning available to disadvantaged and vulnerable people

to advance the charitable causes of the registered charities which are chosen as the "Access Group Company Charities of the Year"

to advance the charitable causes of charities for whom there is a strong emotional connection with a member of staff (e.g. through support they or a close relative have received from the charity)
The Foundation aims to achieve this via a fund from which it awards grants to other charitable organisations aligned with the principles above. You are a key member or the team that works towards our target to award grants to a total value of +/- £2 million each year.
The Access Foundation was set up in 2021 following the success and growth enjoyed by The Access Group over the previous decade. While affiliated with The Access Group in terms of its identity, The Access Foundation is a separate organisation, governed by an independent board of trustees and with its own objectives and goals.
The Access Foundation wants to fund projects and activities that make a real difference to people’s lives in the countries the Access group is active.To achieve our objectives, we are looking to appoint an experienced Operations Manager to help run and improve our operational processes.
Job objectives

Support the trustees in the due diligence and evaluation of each applicant and facilitate the decision-making process for each application

Support the ongoing evaluation process of all successful applicants and ensure agreed measures and outcomes are reported back to the Foundation in a timely manner

Manage the external communication of the Foundation’s successes back to stakeholders and supporters, as well as other channels on social media, such as Instagram and LinkedIn

Manage the communication with the Access Group and maintain an open channel of communication with the charities team at the Access group

Manage the Admin and Grants Assistant and ensure all Admin processes as well as operational processes are running smoothly and make changes where required

Manage the use of the accounting package Access Financials to ensure processes are followed and grantees paid on time.

Oversee the data collation for and write the impact report

Collaborate and work with the trustees and volunteers
Duties and responsibilities will include
-
Write regular reports to the trustees of new applications, applications in progress and outcomes, inform and advise the trustees to achieve a swift decision on all cases

Organise the publicity and communications around each successful grant, including newsfeeds, social media and website updates.

Liase with the Access Marketing team to support their own comms

Ensure financial accounts are accurate and complete

Liase with 3rd parties such as external suppliers and partners ranging from auditors to our financial partners

Draft Offer letters for the successful applicants

Recruit, Manage and Appraise the Admin and Grant Assistant

Attend trustees, volunteers and applications meetings

Manage the access controls for volunteers and staff

Oversee the financial accounts, approve invoices on our bespoke Finance system and deal with some financial accounting together with our Chair of the board of trustees
Skills and Experience Required

About the role
As Project Officer you will play a central role in the delivery of INTRAC’s consultancy assignments and grant funded projects. This will involve coordinating short and long term projects, involving staff and consultants through our global network and clients around the world, ensuring effective and quality delivery. About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Sustrans Behaviour Change and Engagement Team as it looks to encourage those in Harlow and the surrounding area to walk, wheel, and cycle.
As an Active Travel Project Officer in Harlow and Gilston Town (HGGT), you will assist in the delivery of the behaviour change programme to schools, workplaces and community groups. The project will encourage and enable the community to travel sustainably and actively, through various initiatives, events and competitions.
Your role will include duties such as the creation of materials and communications to increase the visibility of your work, delivering activities and events with a variety of people, reporting and presenting to stakeholders, and analysing surveys and other monitoring data.
You will build and manage internal and external relationships with key people such as local community leaders, schools, businesses, local authority officers, along with all Sustrans colleagues within the region.
This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.

You should have experience of planning and delivering projects, workshops or activities for a diverse audience.
You will be experienced in developing relationships and working with a wide range of stakeholders, being able to build rapport and influence people.
We also ask that you have experience in planning effectively using multiple systems, including Microsoft packages, and processes to meet the deadlines of each project.

Barbara Ansell National Network for Adolescent Rheumatology (BANNAR) started in 2013 and has been nested within Versus Arthritis since 2020. BANNAR are a group of professionals from medical, nursing, allied health and third sector backgrounds working in adolescent and young adult (AYA) rheumatology. The network aims to promote best practice and develop research in this area by working with professionals and supporting the National Youth Advisory Panel, Your Rheum.

About the role
The BANNAR Project Support Officer will support the BANNAR Leadership team and BANNAR members to maintain a valuable professional network. You will do this by producing a programme of communications and events tailored to the network’s needs and promoting the network to new members via effective networking. You will play a key role in maximising the impact of BANNAR’s work in adolescent and young adult rheumatology by supporting Your Rheum activities, monitoring and reporting the achievements of the network, and supporting joint working with teams across Versus Arthritis and beyond. You will also play a role supporting wider engagement events and activities for healthcare professionals on behalf of Versus Arthritis.

- Support and advise staff across Dogs Trust on matters relating to psychoactive medication and links between disease, physiology and behavioural signs, under the direction of the Head of Clinical Behaviour Services.

- Assist with staff training through workshops, clinical case reviews, mentorship and conferences.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Staff Management:

16. Ensure that the Neighbourhood Support Service and associated projects remains cost effective by ensuring expenditure is contained within agreed budgets. Tracking expenditure and reducing or eliminating unnecessary costs while maintaining quality.
17. Ensure Service Co-ordinaters fully understand and adopt financial systems and that adequate records are in place to exercise budgetary control.
18. Regularly report progress against the Business Plan targets and budgetary information to the Chief Officer for reporting through to the Board.
19. Supported by Head of Operations, create annual budgets and Business Plans for the service and projects in line with the company planning cycles.
Neighbourhood Development & Resident Engagement:
20. Promote and develop good relationships with local service providers and delivery partners - helping them to be responsive and sensitive to local needs.
21. Oversee the maintenance and promotion of the Braunstone Neighbourhood Management Board.
22. Co-ordinate and organise local surveys and consultations in the Braunstone area and collate/ analyse the findings for dissemination.
23. Oversee the creation of the bi-annual Braunstone Neighbourhood Action Plan.

The Role
As a Project Lead for the ASB team you will be:
- Managing a small team of ASB caseworkers including performance management, monitoring and support

- When the service requires, holding a small caseload providing high quality support to service users in line with VS policies and operating procedures.
The role is home-based within Devon and Cornwall and therefore is open to applicants who both live in this area and have access to an appropriately confidential space in which to work. Regular travel within working hours will be expected across Devon and Cornwall to fulfil the role and travel expenses are paid. The role of Programme Lead (Training and Reconciliation) is a key new position in supporting Place for Hope’s strategic goal of growing our partnerships with faith communities to support and equip more people to reach their potential as peacemakers.
The Programme Lead will co-ordinate all work related to our new 5-year partnership with the United Reformed Church (URC). The partnership will involve two key areas (i) the development and staged roll-out of a mediation team within the URC who will work ecumenically with the wider Place for Hope Practitioner team; and (ii) embedding the understanding, skills, and confidence in how to deal well with conflict, change and difference through a set programme of trainings.
The Programme Lead will draw on the entire Place for Hope team (staff and volunteers) to develop and deliver an agreed 5-year programme plan. The role will also involve supporting the wider work of Place for Hope, particularly working with our training team to deliver our training programme (online and in-person) with a wide range of partners.
Previous experience of project management, training, as well as excellent organisational and communication skills are essential to the role. The ideal candidate would also have an interest in supporting faith communities to transform conflict and a willingness to undertake CPD provided by Place for Hope to build their knowledge and skills in this area.
