This combined Programme Manager, Facilitator role will be instrumental in raising awareness and developing skills in schools across Wales.
This post requires daily travel within South Wales.
The role will involve:
- A thorough understanding of the ready-made online resources to facilitate LifeSkills workshops, online and in person
- Creation and management of a deployment plan to achieve agreed targets for students and engagement of Barclays staff
- Maintaining systems for timely and accurate monitoring, evaluation and reporting of the effectiveness of the LifeSkills programme in line with contract requirements
- Sharing best practice and collaborating within and across BITC’s programme managers/facilitators in Scotland and Northern Ireland
The successful candidate will be:
- Managing the delivery of programmes to meet contractual obligations
- Working with business, schools and/or community organisations to create mutually beneficial and sustainable relationships
- Delivering highly engaging workshops which respond to learner needs and remain true to workshop objectives
The role requires travel across the region for programme delivery and participant interaction.
Salary:
The salary band for this role reflects the flexibility we offer with the contractual location. Candidates will be based at home and have personal transport to travel to schools across Wales. This role is 28 hours per week until 31 July 2025 with a full-time equivalent salary of £27,945 to £32,000 per annum (this will be prorated for part-time hours).

Role Summary

The MARAC Coordinator will coordinate, administer, and manage the operation of the MARAC. One of the main purposes of the role is to bring together agencies to ensure that local systems are truly keeping survivors safe, holding perpetrators to account, and preventing domestic abuse. A key principle of the post is respecting the independence of each agency and ensuring the MARAC’s key principles are survivor’s and children’s safety, offender accountability and giving a clear message that domestic abuse is s crime that will not be tolerated. The post holder will be located in Brent, and will meet MARAC partners in a variety of settings in the community. The post holder will also spend time raising awareness of the service, domestic abuse, and the MARAC in addition to training agencies on the MARAC and inducting new MARAC representatives on the MARAC.
The post holder will have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on women and children, of best practice in supporting survivors of domestic abuse, and of the MARAC. The post holder will also have a good understanding of managing a project.

40% of children from disadvantaged backgrounds leave primary school in England each year unable to read to the expected standard - many of these children fall behind with reading simply because they lack the opportunity to practise.
Chapter One is a small but growing charity with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills needed to thrive. Our mission is to close the reading gap by providing children with one-to-one support at the time they need it most. We work in eleven areas/regions of the UK and will support 3,300 children in 2024-25.
Our unique Online Reading Volunteer programme pairs disadvantaged, struggling five to eight-year old (KS1) readers with reading support volunteers who are working professionals. The volunteer ask is very focused: readers commit 30 minutes a week to read with a child using a bespoke digital platform for an entire academic year. The results are transformative, boosting children's reading confidence and ability.
This role is an exciting opportunity for someone to contribute to the work of our fast-growing charity. You will work as part of the Chapter One Support Team, ensuring that our online reading volunteers have everything that they need - from onboarding to assisting with ID checks and responding to email queries. You will be the first point of contact for our online reading volunteers, so excellent customer service skills and a genuine interest in helping others is essential.

Position: Training and Education Lead: Parental Cover (8 months)

About the role:
This role is for an events person who can support our training and development courses. These courses are delivered either face-to-face or hybrid and are often delivered by a team of the organisation’s members. We use tools such as WebEx, MS Teams and Slido to support the delivery. There is an agreed schedule for the rest of 2024 for our public (open) training plus some bespoke, in-house training to be agreed upon with clients. The MARAC Administrator will support the MARAC Coordinator in the administering the MARAC process. The post holder will be co-located in Brent and will be required to attend MARAC meetings in various locations as required. There will also be a requirement to attend Advance’s Headoffice
The MARAC Administrator will process MARAC referrals and flag to the MARAC Coordinator any referrals that have insufficient information or may not meet the MARAC threshold. GSU Advocacy and Policy Team is leading an award-winning outreach project that seeks to support students to stay and succeed at Greenwich. A team of part-time student staff call 1000’s of students each term, supporting them to navigate University life, services and GSU. This role will support the award-winning team to deliver proactive supportive calls to students.
In this post you will :

- To support with escalations for students experiencing difficulties
