The Role

As our Head of Finance, you will actively lead on the management of all aspects of the finance function to include;

· The production of interim and annual financial statements that comply with the requirements of the Charities SORP (FRS 102).

· Preparing all information and supporting documentation for the annual audit, and liaising with the National Audit Office, and the NFC’s external auditors.

· Supporting the internal audit process.

· Fulfilling the accounting and reporting requirements to Defra.

· Working closely with the Director of Corporate Services and Senior Leadership Team to develop strategic financial initiatives that support financial forecasting, goal setting and financial planning.

You will directly line manage the Finance Manager, ensuring the smooth operations of the finance function.

Your role will also involve:

· Preparing the annual budget

· Overseeing and signing off monthly payroll

· Contributing to the development and management of financial systems and procedures

About You

To be considered as our Head of Finance, you will need:

· To be a qualified accountant with at least five years’ relevant experience

· Senior experience in the charity sector, including producing charity SORP compliant group accounts and monthly management accounts.

· Experience of the financial management of complex restricted funded projects

· Knowledge of charity trading and gift aid arrangements

· Good written and oral communication skills

You’ll review and refine our processes to ensure they are in line with sector best practice and that they meet the needs of our community of people affected by blood cancer. You’ll further embed effective and meaningful involvement at all stages of the research cycle at Blood Cancer UK. 

You’ll also work to support the involvement of people affected by blood cancer in external research and strategic projects across the UK. You will ensure that the research we and others fund is patient focussed and has the potential to accelerate progress and deliver the maximum impact for the communities we support.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead and accelerate the growth of sustainable income from Public Fundraising within agreed expenditure budgets and maximise return on investment. Currently encompassing Individual Giving, Lottery and Events.

· Lead and motivate the Public Fundraising team, ensuring that objectives are embedded and team members have the tools and support needed to succeed.

· Lead the collaboration with marketing and communication teams to integrate fundraising with brand, marketing and digital activity and optimise impact.

· Establish digital fundraising resource, skills and activity within the programme, collaborating closely with the central digital team and leading relationships with external agencies

· Work with the Supporter Experience, Data and Insight team to maximise the effectiveness of supporter journeys across fundraising.

· Play an active part on the Fundraising Senior Leadership Team including developing fundraising strategy and plans.

About the Role

Through our range of programmes, we work to inspire and empower young people, whatever their background to succeed in work and life. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing, managing and evaluating senior stakeholder relationships with external networks. With a proven track record of consistently delivering projects and programmes with high-quality results, the successful candidate will have up to date ED&I knowledge and demonstrable experience of raising the profile of an organisation within this setting.  The candidate will be experienced in development of programmes and partnerships to suit delivery of strategic objectives, and be able to project manage internal colleagues to deliver against set KPIs.

The successful candidate will have a passion for working within a charity that focuses on developing young people from all backgrounds, and will have the experience, knowledge and understanding to drive forward EDI in external facing programmes.

Role purpose

The purpose of this role is to lead, develop and deliver WorldSkills UK’s external Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I) programmes supported by stakeholder engagement strategies across our network of industry, education and government. The role will ensure that we engage external stakeholders to help deliver our ambition to be a leader, partner and ally in creating positive change for ED&I in the skills sector.

Key tasks and responsibilities

1. Deliver positive action activity for change:

• Support the development and delivery of WorldSkills UK’s external ED&I strategy. Ensure it is fit for purpose, has recognised long term goals and will deliver measurable change, reflecting organisational priorities around increased engagement with ethnic minority groups and females. Provide an overarching framework and help further develop strategic KPIs for our ED&I work, ensuring effective use of data, monitoring progress and performance.
• Work with the Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager to develop action plans that will drive our continuous improvement:
  • Support our skills competition development programmes to increase the diversity of young people engaged
  • Support the development of role models to showcase the impact of our work and encourage diversity in key areas of industry, including future priority skill areas
  • Support the development of learning resources that aid engagement with underrepresented groups
  • Support teams to ensure ED&I matters are considered and addressed as key components of all strategies, plans and programmes.

2. Manage the ED&I Advisory Group:

• This is a unique opportunity to work with experienced and prominent senior individuals from across education and industry who are invested in driving the agenda for ED&I.
• Lead the administration and ongoing development of our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Advisory Group.
• Engage the Group to help support, advise and challenge WorldSkills UK on its actions to remove obstacles and barriers faced by young people from under-represented backgrounds in our programmes.
• Report regularly to the Group on progress against KPI’s and facilitate reports for the WorldSkills UK Board.

3. Project Manage the ED&I Heroes Awards

• The Awards is an established flagship event which provides a platform for WorldSkills UK to celebrate success with its partners, amplify best practice and inspire others to drive change across the skills systems in education and business.
• Project manage delivery of the annual Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Heroes Awards, supported by relevant internal teams
  • Establish the nominations process
  • Co-ordinate the judging panel
  • Organise the awards ceremony
  • Manage the support of the awards partners.

4. Manage strategic relationships

• Manage a portfolio of ED&I focused Strategic Partnerships with organisations from across the skills sector, facilitating their support and engagement with our EDI programmes.
• Grow our network of partners to widen our reach, help further drive work in this area and collectively impact on the sector.
• Advise and support the development of the CEO’s international activities on ED&I with WorldSkills International (WSI).

5. Raise the profile of WorldSkills UK’s ED&I work:

• Work with teams across the organisation to support our Mission to ignite a national and global movement to help more young people, regardless of their background, get the best possible start in work and life.
• Support the Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager and Marketing and Communications Team to showcase the impact of our programmes:
  • Help to externally profile and articulate the value and impact of our activities using the channels and tools available
  • Seek opportunities to advocate for our work through stakeholder engagement and networking
  • Support the Corporate Partnerships team to identify and secure commercial income related to our ED&I initiatives.
  • Work across the organisation to build on existing external relationships and develop new strategic partnerships that reinforce our position as a skills sector leader.

6. Internal ED&I Liaison:

• Whilst not responsible for WorldSkills UK’s internal ED&I activities and agenda it is anticipated that the post holder will spend up to 10% of their time supporting and working with the Corporate Affairs team on internal ED&I matters, with the remaining 90% spent on external work.
• It is not essential that the postholder has extensive experience in this area.

7. General

In addition to the key tasks and responsibilities set out above, all employees at this level are expected to:

• Produce requirement specifications in line with WorldSkills UK’s procurement strategies for all outsourced activity.

This role is office based (as above) but with flexible hybrid working. It is expected the postholder will attend the office at least once or twice a week.

Project Finance Officer | London - Hybrid | Permanent | £46,000 - £48-000 + Benefits

For a global NGO, we're recruiting a Project Finance Officer. Reporting to the Project Finance Manager, this role will run efficient programme financial accounting, financial management and financial reporting processes for donor funded programmes and grants. This role will support the full life cycle of grants, from donor proposal to final reporting and will work closely with Finance and Programme teams as well as in-country staff, partner agencies and external Donors.

What you'll be doing:

• Financial planning, and financial management for grant funded programmes
• Monitoring budgets, cash-flow, and donor compliance reporting
• Maintaining the grant tracker, cost recovery process and cash balance management
• Preparing monthly performance dashboard reports and quarterly cash balance reports for grant programmes
• Working with in-country teams to ensure effective grants management and compliance i.e., ensuring all grants are recorded and monitored, and that grant codes are correctly set up
• Reviewing proposal budgets, liaising with the Programmes team, ensuring compliance with donor requirements
• Timely submission of cash requests for Donor contracts and sub-grant agreements
• Preparing donor sub-grant agreements with field units, and partners
• Supporting the preparation and follow-up of internal and external grant audits
• Training and capacity building sessions for in-country teams

The Woodland Trust is the UK’s leading woodland conservation charity.  We want to see a world where trees and woods thrive for people and nature. THE ROLE
The Rainforest Project Officer role is based in South West England and funded by the  Species Survival Fund which National Lottery Heritage Fund are delivering on behalf of Defra. The role will include providing advice and support for landowners on the creation and management of temperate rainforests; overseeing rainforest restoration on the Woodland Trust estate; and working with the regional communications and engagement team to deliver a wide range of rainforest themed communications and engagement activities to showcase and raise awareness about the importance of the Temperate Rainforest and the work of the Woodland Trust. 

The Rainforest Project Officer will oversee, and help deliver, a diverse programme of work for the project, as well as line managing two early-career trainees to increase their knowledge and develop the skills needed to inspire a wide range of audiences to engage with this precious habitat.

This is an 18 month fixed term position.

You’ll have experience in successfully delivering projects and programmes on time and to budget. You will use your excellent communication skills to represent the Woodland Trust and the project, in a professional, competent, and positive manner as well as having the confidence to present in front of large audiences.

You will have experience of building meaningful working relationships with a range of key stakeholders, effectively engaging with them so they are involved and inspired by our work and ensuring the impact of the project is maximised.  You’ll have a collaborative approach with experience of working with multiple teams and organisations for a shared purpose.
You will have the ability to take on a leadership role, supporting the training and upskilling of team members and volunteers. You’ll be self-motivated and flexible having the ability to manage and organise a diverse workload.

About this key role

We will rely on you to provide excellent stewardship to existing donors, including writing reports, planning and hosting visits for key stakeholders that inspire them to continue to support St Giles, while also providing support to the Head of Voluntary Fundraising & Fundraising Manager with reports, due diligence procedures and applications where necessary.  Organising a small number of fundraising events per year and providing line management, supervision and coaching to a Fundraising Assistant is also a key element of this role.

• A minimum of one year’s experience working in a charity fundraising environment

Your Role

You will be responsible for No Limits’ finances, leading on strategic and operational financial management of the charity and preparing and analysing information relating to financial planning. You will have oversight of the finance team, leading No Limits to be a sustainable and efficient organisation.

As part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), you will make an active contribution to the strategic direction, planning and leadership of No Limits in collaboration with the wider team. You’ll have the essentials of: 

• qualified accountant (CIMA / CIPFA / ACCA / ACA or equivalent) – consideration may be given to part-qualified with relevant experience
• Strategic and operational financial management experience, including; financial process, income and expenditure management, reporting, year-end, audit, statutory and management account production, establishing and monitoring effective financial controls
• An understanding of the charity environment and wider landscape
• Experience of costing projects with a full-cost recovery approach
• Ability to plan and prioritise own and others work to set deadlines, with good time management skills
• High level of IT competency to support your role, including the use of technology and Microsoft Office
• Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and team working
• A commitment to personal growth, continuous development, and application of learning

• Up-to-date knowledge of charity SORP regulations and requirements (highly desirable)

About the role 

This is an exciting opportunity to work with Sustrans as part of the Fundraising and Supporter Engagement team as the E-Commerce Manager. 

In line with our ecommerce strategy, Sustrans has invested over the past years to increase sales through our e-commerce shop and now needs to find new approaches to maximise revenue.  

As the E-Commerce Manager, you will be responsible for maximising e-commerce revenue by optimising the martech stack, improving audience insights, product development/management and  promotion through digital and offline marketing channels. 

As part of the Fundraising and Supporter Engagement team, you will work closely with colleagues in Supporter Engagement and Giving, Strategic Communications, Finance as well as external agencies and suppliers. 

This role has line management responsibilities for two-part time colleagues, the E-Commerce Promotions Officer and the E-Commerce Products Officer.
