This role as Senior Practitioner within our Domestic Abuse services will provide housing advice and advocacy support to LGBTQ+ people who require housing support to leave a domestic abuse situation or require longer-term resettlement. The role will provide direct line management to our specialised domestic abuse case workers delivering our services across PAN London. The mission of Stonewall Housing’s Advice and Advocacy team is to help people understand their rights and navigate their housing options (within the statutory housing system or through private sector resources) in order for them to have somewhere safe to live. This team assesses service users’ housing needs, provides them with immediate advice and signposting, and, where necessary, provides advocacy casework to ensure service users can access what they are entitled to.
We will be holding phone screenings for this position on Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th of July.
Key responsibilities
- Providing a high-quality, flexible and responsive advice and casework service toLGBTQ+ people, supporting them to exercise their rights and get access to safeaccommodation.
- Having sound working knowledge of the statutory housing framework in order toprovide responsive and decisive guidance to caseworkers.
- Assessing the individual needs of each service user and providing a bespokeadvice and advocacy plan.
- Providing excellent supervision of direct reports, ensuring they are supported,monitored, and granted opportunities for development.
- Ensuring operational excellence in both own practice and that of direct reports byundertaking regular case reviews and file audits.
- Promoting a healthy working environment where every team member feelsrespected, valued, and recognised.
- Supporting the Service Manager and contributing to the innovation of our adviceservice delivery, seeking new opportunities for growth and development, andidentifying trends so we are maximising the support we offer to our clients.
- Ensuring a high level of customer care and practice at all times.
- Developing positive and enduring links with relevant external agencies.
Main duties
Direct Line Management
- To draw up a supervision agreement with each member of staff, setting the toneof your working relationship and establishing a rapport.
- To give consistent, regular support to direct reports through supervision, case fileaudits and case reviews according to policy.
- To provide an annual appraisal, setting goals for staff members and ensuring theyhave a solid understanding of Key Performance Indicators.
- To identify any poor practice and discuss it directly with the member of staff witha view to making improvements and achieving operational excellence.
- To establish a leadership role in the team, providing support, monitoring anddevelopment.
Casework Sessions
- To give holistic support to LGBTQ+ people accessing our Advice and Advocacyservice and to provide proactive support to these service users who aresometimes hard to engage.
- To assess each individual’s current housing situation and form a view with regardsto risk associated with their case.
- To explore all options available to the service user allowing them to make informeddecisions.
- To work with LGBTQ+ people accessing the Advice and Advocacy service todevelop and review individual work plans and risk assessments.
- To have regular casework sessions to provide structured support, in relation toHousing specific issues.
- To liaise with other service providers ensuring service users receive thenecessary support to sustain their accommodation, acquire relevant independentliving skills, maintain or improve positive physical and mental health, and accessmeaningful occupation of their time.
Liaison with Landlords / Other Agencies
- To support service users to report repairs and work with landlords and advocatewhere necessary.
- To support service users to contact local authorities, and voluntary and privatesector landlords to report anti social behaviour issues and advocate wherenecessary.
- To support service users to present to local authorities as homeless, whereappropriate, and advocate where necessary.
Other duties
- To establish and maintain accurate and complete records in all areas of work.
- To complete statistics for the collation of performance and funding information.
- To maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation and regulations in relation tofunders and other key areas.
- To participate in individual and clinical supervision meetings, annual appraisals andtraining.
- To act in accordance with the organisation’s Diversity Policy, Health and SafetyPolicy, Code of Conduct and all other corporate policies and procedures.
- To act in the best interests of Stonewall Housing and its service users at all times.
- To promote Stonewall Housing at external meetings and community events.
- To carry out any other duties commensurate with the aims and objectives of thepost that may be required.
Your experience
- Knowledge of Housing legislation relating to all relevant sectors
- Knowledge of Acts, case law, and guidance relating to Homelessness, HousingRegister, and tenancy matters
- Knowledge of Affordable/Social Housing and Registered Social Landlords
- Knowledge of Welfare Benefits
- Knowledge of the workings of Local Government
- Sound working knowledge of identifying and working safeguarding cases

The Development and Advocacy Department are looking to appoint an experienced Philanthropy Manager to join our Philanthropy team on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Senior Philanthropy Manager, in this role you will manage a number of philanthropic relationships and make a significant contribution to the team through developing new initiatives and growing the portfolio.
The ideal candidate profile for this post will be a team player, with the following credentials:
- An established track record in philanthropy or fundraising for major organisations
- Demonstrated success in managing a portfolio of high value relationships with experience of personally securing significant gifts
- Ability to think strategically to devise relevant engagement and cultivation plans and identify opportunities for approaches to prospects

- Develop a Major Gifts strategy that delivers agreed income goals and leads to increased and multi-year financial commitments from Major Donors.
- Develop individual cultivation plans for Major Donors that provide opportunities for them to make impactful gifts, pray and campaign.

- A minimum of three years’ major donor fundraising experience for a charity.
- Proven track record of securing five-figure and six-figure gifts from major donors.
- Experience of providing excellent stewardship to major donors.
- Excellent communication skills, especially verbal and written English
- Writing compelling funding applications/ proposals that match donors’ interests with CSW’s mission and activities.

Refugee Council – Philanthropy Manager

Refugee Council is seeking an experienced philanthropy specialist to develop and grow the Refugee Council’s Philanthropy relationships and programme and deliver an ambitious Philanthropy strategy.
Refugee Council is a leading charity supporting refugees and people seeking asylum to rebuild their lives in safety here in the UK. Providing practical, hands on support, their award winning services include welcoming refugees into local communities across the country, providing specialist children’s services – with a particular focus on refugee children who arrive here alone, helping people to navigate the asylum system, and supporting people to access housing and employment. Oversight of accounting and cash management
Most of the detailed work in this section is undertaken by the direct reports with the oversight and management being provided by this Finance Manager role
· Appropriate recording, processing, coding, posting of all financial transactions – including but not limited to bank receipts and payments, accounts payable, accounts receivable, conference fee income, invoicing, journal entries.
· Regular timely bank reconciliations.
· Invoicing and credit control
· Chart of accounts structure and department codes
· Gift Aid claims
· VAT returns
· Foreign Speaker returns to HMRC
· Regular reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
· Manage the cash needed by the business, investing excess cash to maximise returns
· Manage fixed assets and related accounting
· Oversight, monitoring and management of key financials within our online event booking system including reconciliation of income recorded on the database to that actually received, with a target of reconciliation within 2 weeks of each month end.
HR Administration and Payroll
· Payroll - administration of and preparation of the payroll (Brightpay), including submissions in respect of HMRC and pensions.
· Management of staff holiday and sickness records
· Support of HR queries
Preparation of budgets and forecasts
· Management and preparation of the annual budget – including for example income (conference fees, product sales, advertising, onsite cafes), running costs (event production costs, team activity costs, honoraria) centralised costs (staff, overheads), departmental budgets (networking, marketing), capital and restricted funds etc.
· Update of forecasts as required with a target of quarterly reporting to Section Head budget managers and Director of Operations.
Reporting
· Management accounts/management information/data for regular quarterly report data as required including reporting on conference and product performance.
· Prepare year end accounts ready for review by Head of Finance.
· Reporting as required to review spending with department heads.
Management of the finance team

FearFree delivers services across the South West for victims and perpetrators of domestic abuse and victims of sexual violence. We provide responsive, victim focused, and trauma informed support and this post will be fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders and partners experience this in our daily delivery.
Based within our Devon Service, which delivers domestic abuse services across Devon, the IDVA Team Manager manages our high risk victim/survivor service provision. This includes line management responsibility for our experienced team of IDVAs.
Our IDVA Team provide independent support and advice to high risk victims of domestic abuse, with a clear focus on reducing risk and increasing safety. The IDVA Team work within a multi-agency system to provide a proactive, person-centred independent service for victims of domestic abuse, empowering choice through informed decision making.
The key tasks include:
- Having responsibility for the provision of domestic abuse support to high risk adult victims across Devon.
- Line managing the IDVAs, providing case supervision, support and direction.
- Maintaining close working relationships with MARAC (multi-agency risk assessment conference) to ensure the smooth running of MARAC.
1. Key responsibilities:
- To provide leadership, direction and support to the IDVAs including leading in recruitment, training, scheduling and supervising staff, ensuring excellent management of the team delivering domestic abuse support to high risk service users.
- On a day to day basis oversee the performance of the IDVA Team, acting as the main point of contact for the staff.
- To line manage the team of IDVAs, providing case management supervision, line management support, allocation of cases and ensuring all staff are supported to meet their full potential.
- To continue the development of the IDVAs into a cohesive and supportive team, through the use of open communication, team meetings and coaching. This will include developing the specialist IDVA roles including Mental Health and Health IDVA’s.

About this key role
As a valued and integral part of the Fundraising and Communications team, our successful candidate will lead a small sub-team to generate at least £500,000 income each year, including the direct line management of a Senior Fundraising Officer, who you will support to line manage the Fundraising Assistant. About the role
Sightsavers Ghana office is currently seeking a Programme Manager to implement, develop, design, and monitor in country projects. The Programme Manager will also identify and contribute to programme growth and development in collaboration with partners and colleagues.
The Programme Manager duties include;
- Supporting partners by providing technical advice and expertise on the core thematic areas of Sightsavers work and give guidance to ensure the successful implementation of projects.
- Support the development and implementation of country advocacy plans in line with projects and represent Sightsavers at the appropriate forums with partners and stakeholders.
