About the role

The Social Media and Marketing Officer will deliver high-performing digital marketing campaigns that drive supporter acquisition and engagement. Working within the charity’s Policy and Communications team, you will focus on content creation to support a broad range of charity initiatives, ranging from fundraising campaigns to promoting events including our annual conference and signature fundraising event, the Duchenne Dash, and disseminating news to our stakeholders and community.

Reporting to the Director of Policy and Communications, you will lead the execution of digital campaigns, work to strengthen our presence on social media and grow our audience to amplify our communications and marketing activity, produce impactful marketing materials, work with community representatives and ambassadors to develop case studies and support with wider marketing and communications activity.

In the role you will:

• Support the implementation and delivery of multi-channel campaigns that build awareness of Duchenne UK’s work, promote our events, projects and outputs, and support fundraising goals.
• Take responsibility for the charity’s social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok), ensuring consistent, engaging, and mission-led content – planning, scheduling and publishing content.
• Help manage the digital marketing content calendar and coordinate content with colleagues across the organisation.
• Create a variety of digital content, including graphics, videos, reels, stories, blogs, and newsletters.
• Monitor and, where appropriate, respond to, and engage with followers and messages.
• Manage the charity’s regular e-newsletter using tools such as Dotdigital.
• Stay up to date with trends in digital communication and identify opportunities for innovation.
• Create detailed campaign plans, including channel selection, content requirements, and delivery timelines.
• Monitor campaign performance using analytics tools and dashboards, providing actionable insights.
• Ensure staff and volunteers feel informed and inspired through engaging internal updates and on-brand messaging.
• Harness social media channels to raise the profile of the organisation and promote our work and policy positions and grow our audience on LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram.

Person Specification

Essential experience:

• Experience of writing for a range of audiences and using different channels to produce convincing, clear and succinct content across a range of platforms such as socials, blogs, web and print.
• A strong eye for detail and the ability to create content that resonates.
• Experience of using digital and social media for influencing and campaigning purposes.
• Experience supporting the development of and implementing social media strategies to increase engagement, reach and donations.
• Experience managing competing demands, meeting deadlines, and juggling multiple projects effectively.

Essential skills and attributes:

• Highly motivated with a passion for improving the life outcomes of people living with DMD. Proficient with all main Microsoft Office packages
• Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of patients and families, with resilience to navigate challenging situations.
• Proficiency with digital platforms, content management systems, and marketing tools.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with people of all ages and backgrounds. 
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Ability to build excellent working relationships both internally and externally.
• Good organisational and workload management skills.

Desirable experience:

• Experience delivering impactful social media led fundraising strategies
• Experience running social media presence for an organisation and harnessing social media to promote and showcase events
• Experience using Dotdigital or similar digital marketing software and producing newsletters and other marketing emails.

Desirable skills:

• Graphic design skills and working knowledge of Canva and Adobe design suite.
• Experience with Pay-Per-Click (PPC) campaigns across platforms such as Google Ads and Meta Ads Manager.

About the role

This is a pivotal role within our newly established Prospect Development and Insight function, giving you the opportunity to shape how we identify, research, and prioritise the high‑value prospects who can make transformational gifts to Macmillan.

You will be responsible for feeding high‑quality insight directly to fundraisers, supporting them to grow pipelines, prioritise approaches, and unlock opportunities across corporate partnerships, philanthropy, and trusts. You’ll use a wide range of research techniques and tools to identify prospects, evaluate their potential, support risk management through due diligence, and provide concise, high‑impact briefings for fundraisers and senior leaders.

Key responsibilities:

• Identify and qualify high‑value prospects using press scanning, wealth screening, network mapping, and research tools.
• Produce clear and concise prospect profiles, briefings and event research for fundraisers and senior stakeholders.
• Conduct due diligence on prospects and donors, assessing risks and escalating where appropriate.
• Work collaboratively with fundraisers to support pipeline development, prioritisation and movement of prospects.
• Provide market insight and trend analysis to help shape fundraising strategy and highlight new opportunities.
• Ensure all research activity complies with GDPR, the Data Protection Act, and internal policies.

About you

The successful candidate will bring:

• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to summarise complex information clearly and concisely.

Fundraising Manager - Tiphereth

About Tiphereth

Tiphereth is a Camphill community in Edinburgh providing residential care and day services for adults with learning disabilities and autism. We are part of the wider Camphill movement, which emphasises intentional community living, meaningful work and shared life between people with and without support needs.

Our community brings together over 200 people with our members, staff, vocational co-worker and volunteers across residential homes, supported living services and vibrant day services. We operate craft workshops, horticulture programmes, a pop-up shop and participate in local markets. Role’s Primary Objective

The Fundraising (and associated marketing development) Manager is a senior leadership position, reporting directly to the CEO and sitting alongside other senior managers on the Senior Management Team. This is a newly created role with significant scope to shape Tiphereth's external engagement and income generation strategy.

In Year One, you will be hands-on across the full breadth of fundraising and marketing activity, building the infrastructure, strategy and relationships needed for long-term success. From Year Two onwards, you will have the opportunity to recruit and develop a small team covering marketing and communications, community fundraising, and grant and trust applications.

This role requires someone who can operate strategically whilst also delivering at pace. You will need to be equally comfortable presenting to the Board as you are drafting a grant application or stewarding a major donor. Above all, you will need to connect authentically with our ethos and be able to communicate the distinctive value of Camphill community life to diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership

• Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising and marketing strategy aligned with Tiphereth's Five-Year Plan and organisational values

• Work towards strategic income targets including a minimum £250,000 in major donor engagement over five years and increasing non-government income to 10% of total revenue

• Identify, develop and secure new fundraising opportunities to maximise income potential and expand Tiphereth's supporter base

• Provide strategic advice to the CEO and Board on fundraising trends, opportunities and risks

• Build business cases for capital projects and new initiatives requiring external funding

2. Major Gifts and Philanthropy

• Identify, cultivate and steward a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals and family foundations with capacity to make transformative gifts

• Develop compelling cases for support and funding proposals for capital projects and programme development

• Build and maintain long-term relationships with donors, ensuring exceptional stewardship and regular impact reporting

• Support the CEO and trustees in their donor engagement activities, preparing briefings and facilitating introductions

• Maximise tax-efficient giving through Gift Aid and other mechanisms

3. Grants and Trusts

• Research and develop a pipeline of grant-making trusts and foundations aligned with Tiphereth's work

• Write and submit high-quality funding applications, working collaboratively with service managers to develop project proposals

• Maintain accurate records of applications, outcomes and reporting requirements

• Build relationships with programme officers and foundation staff to strengthen future applications

4. Marketing and Communications

• Lead the development and implementation of Tiphereth's marketing and communications strategy

• Oversee brand management, ensuring consistent and compelling messaging across all channels, including timely responses to donors and interested parties

• Develop engaging content including the Annual Impact Report, newsletters, social media and website

• Champion digital fundraising initiatives and enhance supporter journeys to improve engagement and retention

• Raise Tiphereth's profile through media engagement, events and participation in sector networks

5. Community Fundraising and Events

• Develop and grow community fundraising income including individual giving, regular giving and legacy programmes

• Plan and deliver fundraising events and supporter engagement activities that reflect Tiphereth's values

• Support and coordinate third-party fundraising by community supporters

• Explore corporate partnership opportunities aligned with our ethos

6. Team Development and Management

• Build the case for and recruit specialist roles in marketing, community fundraising and grant-writing as capacity grows (from Year Two)

• Lead, manage and develop team members, fostering a high-performing, collaborative culture

• Manage budgets for fundraising and marketing activities, monitoring performance and return on investment

• Provide clear reporting on fundraising performance to the CEO and subsequently to the Board

As we grow, we are looking to recruit a Fundraising and Supporter Engagement Officer to join the Fundraising team, for an initial fixed-term period of 12-months. 

As our ideal candidate, you will need to be within commuting distance of our Leeds warehouse, allowing you to travel regularly to meet with the team. This is a hybrid role based between the Leeds warehouse and home, with at least two days per week at the warehouse. Some travel to other locations may be required occasionally for events.

As a Wildlife and Wellbeing Officer, you’ll work closely with the Wildlife and Wellbeing Assistant Manager and Networks for Nature project staff to engage and empower communities to make a real impact on conservation efforts and to improve access to nature. You will support with maintaining and establishing community relationships, supporting the development and delivery of a programme of wildlife and wellbeing activities and supporting in building the capacity of community groups, community leaders and other stakeholders within the Networks for Nature project area. You will deliver a broad range of activities, including Family Wildlife Clubs, Wildlife and Wellbeing Clubs, Community Action Days, activities linked to Green Social Prescribing (GSP), GSP workshops for healthcare professionals and activity stands within community settings. You will also actively promote and develop community network links.

Due to the working rota of 10 days in 14 and working every other weekend, there will be some cross-over between the activities delivered within this role and the Community Volunteer Officer role.

We’re looking for someone who can:
 

• Activity Planning & Delivery: Help plan and run a broad programme of wildlife and wellbeing activities to community groups, including Family Wildlife Clubs, Wildlife and Wellbeing Clubs, Conservation Action Days, activities linked to Green Social Prescribing (GSP), GSP workshops for healthcare professionals and activity stands at community events. Effectively adapting each activity to meet the needs of each group.

• Community Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with community groups to support their continued participation in the project and commitment to creating habitats for UK Wildlife. Including administrative support, dealing with queries via email and telephone and attending meetings, consultations and networking events.

• Content Creation: Research and contribute to the development of resources and new engagement activities designed to support participation in the Networks for Nature project.

• Measuring Impact: Work closely with the Wildlife and Wellbeing Assistant Manager to support in the delivery of an evaluation programme for the Networks for Nature project, including collection and collation of data from project participants, initial analysis of results and presenting findings to key stakeholders.

• Safety & Risk Assessments: With support from the Wildlife and Wellbeing Assistant Manager, ensure that all activities are safe and appropriately risk assessed.

• Developing Expertise: Proactively develop own expertise as a conservation educator, focused on community engagement, UK wildlife and nature and wellbeing.

You will provide day-to-day administrative support to the Managing Director (MD); editing and disseminating organisational materials for internal and external audiences; support preparation of Board of Trustee and Executive Team reports and meetings, and minute meetings; represent Afghanaid in coordination meetings. You will be required to work closely and effectively with all other departments of Afghanaid to achieve unity of purpose, results and optimal use of organisational resources. 

Main Duties

• Coordinate the MD’s daily diary, screen email, draft correspondence and prepare documents for meetings and professional appointments.  

• Provide preparatory materials and coordinate the MD’s external representation and fundraising engagements, draft talking points and speeches, visual presentation and workshop materials.

• Coordinate and support drafting of internal quarterly reports and other Executive Team reports, as well as the external Annual Report, and ensure appropriate distribution; edit other organisational strategic and operational documents as required.

• Minute Board of Trustee, Executive and other internal meetings attended by the MD.

• Research and write internal and external briefs and reports to be used in national and international level communications.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for managing requests from various departments to the Managing Director, ensuring efficient communication and follow-through on tasks.

• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to schedule and organise meetings for the MD.

• Organise MD’s travel, trustees’ visits, annual retreat and other events as requested. 

• Represent Afghanaid in advocacy and influencing forums and meetings.

• Master’s degree in relevant research-based discipline (Development, Anthropology, Policy and Research, International Relations or similar subjects) or an undergraduate degree with relevant experience.

We are looking for a permanent and full-time member of staff to help develop and communicate RSTMH’s role within tropical medicine and global health. We need a passionate and creative communicator who can play a key role in meeting our communications objectives. This role is office-based in central London, with the option to work from home on Mondays.

RSTMH is a membership society formed in 1907, with around 1,800 members and Fellows in over 100 countries. We work to improve tropical medicine and global health by enabling and promoting research, sharing knowledge and convening networks through our members and Fellows and beyond. The Communications Manager will have the opportunity to develop and enhance RSTMH’s reputation as a credible and trusted voice in tropical medicine and global health.

This is a wide-ranging and exciting role. You will lead on implementing the organisation’s communications strategy, working with the leadership team to ensure it meets the aims of the wider RSTMH strategy. You’ll maintain and further develop the website and social media platforms, build links with media contacts, and source, commission and develop content. You’ll manage relationships with key suppliers, including website developers, strategic partners, digital media and creative agencies. You’ll also be responsible for delivering RSTMH’s newsletters to our members and Fellows, and global network of supporters.

THE ROLE

Our client, a well-known anti-poverty charity is looking to recruit a Director of Policy & Engagement on a maternity contract of up to 12 months. This great charity provides front-line advice, advocacy and campaigning and policy work on behalf of people in London beneath pension age, who are experiencing issues around benefit payments, disability and housing or who are at risk of homelessness. The role:
As Director of Policy & Engagement, you will lead the organisation’s policy, public affairs, and campaigns function, shaping and delivering local and national influencing to drive change on social security and housing issues. Having managed political and media engagement and external influencing activities in the past, this person will be an effective relationship manager both internally and externally, in addition to having provided knowledge based leadership to small teams in the charity sector. In addition to being a highly effective project manager, this person will be a very strong communicator both verbally and in writing, and will be fully committed to the aims and objectives of this anti-poverty charity.
