This is a newly created role working within our Fundraising & Communication Dept.
Role summary
Working within our fundraising and communications team, you will support the management of our communications portfolio of work. Maintaining our consistent brand, you will lead on digital and print asset development. You will lead on supporter communications, assisting the rest of the team to raise the profile and bring new supporters into the organisation. You will manage our social channels, website content and newsletter, and developing creative assets and materials for our external work both in the UK and the US.
You will also support on fundraising within the organisation, gaining experience across a wide variety of income generation areas. This will typically focus on applications to small Trusts and Foundations, the delivery of our events and the implementation of our individual giving programme.
You will work both independently and collaboratively to assist the development of creative assets events and activities. With excellent time management and organisational skills, you will demonstrate the ability to deliver quality work and hit deadlines, while managing a varied workload.
Contractual terms
Location: Nine Elms, Central London – current requirement is for staff to be in the office a minimum of two days a week between Tuesday and Thursday
Hours: Full time, 37.5 hrs week (open to four or four-and-a-half days as well)
Term: Permanent
Reporting to: Head of Fundraising and Communications
Salary Range: £27,534 to £30,400
Annual Leave: 25 days per annum, plus an additional 3 days between Christmas and New Year.
Pension: Matching contribution to organisation’s pension provider up to 5%
Job purpose
1. Assist the management of Able Child Africa’s brand and external communications, with high quality content.
2. Assist the management of Able Child Africa’s portfolio of fundraising events.
3. Assist the delivery of our individual giving programme, supporting other forms of community and Trusts and Foundations fundraising.
4. Provide other support to the Fundraising and Communications Team as agreed, including supporting routine office operations.
Key accountabilities
Assist the management of Able Child Africa’s brand and external communications, with high quality content.
1. Manage Able Child Africa’s social channels, working with our creative assets and key messages, to maintain a professional and engaging external brand.
2. Support the management a vibrant and responsive website by ensuring content is up to date, professional and engaging; supporting the collection of imagery, videos, case studies and blogs where directed.
3. Produce and distribute Able Child Africa’s quarterly newsletter, contributing with high quality written content and complying with organisational data protection and confidentiality standards.
Assist the management of Able Child Africa’s portfolio of fundraising events.
4. Assist with the delivery of Able Child Africa’s events portfolio when required. This includes but is not exclusive to the London Marathon, the Gala Dinner, and the Charity Golf Day.
5. Market the events, recruiting, retaining, and communicating with participants to support the achievement of income targets.
6. Support with donor stewardship activities post event, engaging new regular donors and supporters to grow our incomes streams.
Assist the delivery of other areas of our fundraising work, including but not exclusive to Trusts and Foundations, individual giving and community fundraising.
7. Support the attainment of funds from a variety of Trusts and Foundations, through submitting high quality applications.
8. Support Able Child Africa’s individual giving programme, assisting with donor communications, building relationships with donors and growing our income.
9. Support community fundraising activities, empowering existing and newly sourced supporters, (including schools, universities and other members of the public) to independently generate funds for Able Child Africa through independent events and activities.
Provide other support to the Fundraising and Communications and wider operational teams as agreed, including supporting routine office operations.
10. Maintain our Salesforce database, keeping detailed records of communications, support and donations from individuals and organisations.
11. Support our advocacy objectives, working with the Advocacy team to produce high quality and consistent messaging for use within the international development sector.
12. Support the delivery of unique and ongoing operational activities as required for the effective running of the organisation.
Competencies
Experience
1. At least one years’ experience in a fundraising or communications support role.
2. Experience of managing or supporting the management of events to, ideally including managing volunteers or supporters to raise funds.
3. Experience or knowledge of managing individual donors with demonstrated ability to engage stakeholders (including public, media and donors) to advance a cause.
Skills and Technical Competencies
4. Creative ability to assist in the production of engaging content for communication in line with the organisational brand and mission.
5. Competency in managing social channels under direction, developing newsletters and other blogs or articles.
6. Basic understanding of WordPress, and other design packages (Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva) desirable.

7. An understanding of contributing to an organisational culture based on inclusivity, wellbeing and empowerment.
8. Excellent time management and organisational skills; ability to work under pressure to prioritise and manage varied workload and competing deadlines whilst ensuring attention to detail.

The British Dyslexia Association (BDA) is a charity that represents the voice of people living with dyslexia. We aim to influence government and other institutions to promote a dyslexia friendly society that enables dyslexic people of all ages to reach their full potential.
This is an exciting new role for the BDA, which has been created with the purpose of recruiting, managing and supporting regional volunteers, leading specific outreach to groups impacted and disadvantaged by dyslexia and resulting life circumstances. This is a varied hands-on role that would suit a skilled volunteering professional, who will use their knowledge of volunteering best practice and experience to help us create the future for outreach volunteering at the BDA.
Location
Home-based (UK), with travel to the BDA office in Bracknell (Berkshire) and around the UK as and when necessary. Additionally, travel to team days approximately 1-2 times a year is required.
Duties and Responsibilities (to include, but not limited to):
·Recruiting, training and supporting regional volunteers and working with a national voluntary panel.
· Develop and implement volunteer recruitment strategies to attract a diverse pool of volunteers.
· Provide supervision and guidance to volunteers to ensure a positive volunteer experience.
· Coordinate volunteer training and onboarding processes.
· Maintain accurate volunteer records, including role, contract information and achievements.
· Monitor and evaluate the provision of outreach services to measure effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
· Leading specific outreach to groups impacted and disadvantaged by dyslexia and resulting life circumstances.
· Promoting hubs, working closely with Marketing and Communications colleagues and creating referral routes to hub services.

· Creating resources and tools for hub volunteers to run services and for new hubs to establish in a consistent way.
· Evaluating services run by Local Hubs and contributing to knowledge and research on needs, provision and outcomes for people with dyslexia.
· Bringing together the network of Local Hubs, Local Dyslexia Associations and other member organisations - enabling them to share good practice, access training and peer support between volunteers.
· Create and maintain an internal engagement plan that supports the BDA to increase impact and reach through our work with communities, including best practice guidance and tools.

About this role…
Every role at Thames Reach is about ensuring that the users of our services find and sustain a decent home, develop supportive relationships and lead fulfilling lives. On our structured Traineeship scheme, you’ll gain first-hand experience and on-the-job training in what we do. You’ll be expected to work full time on a rota basis. Our placements involve a range of working patterns such as shifts, including evenings and weekends, night work in our fast-paced Rapid Response Outreach team and Monday to Friday 9-5 roles.
The key features are:
• A thorough induction, followed by two six-month placements at our projects, one of which will be hostel-based.
• With supervision and training from experienced staff to help our clients to get off and stay off the street with access to appropriate services.
• Learning about and assisting with necessary administration and record-keeping.

GSU Advocacy and Policy Team is leading an award-winning outreach project that seeks to support students to stay and succeed at Greenwich. A team of part-time student staff call 1000’s of students each term, supporting them to navigate University life, services and GSU. This role will support the award-winning team to deliver proactive supportive calls to students.
In this post you will :
- To supervise the retention calling project staff
- To support with escalations for students experiencing difficulties
- To spot trends in student issues and assist with reporting

Delivery of Outreach

The role of an IDVA is to address the safety of victims and survivors at high risk of harm at point of referral into the refuge.
IDVAs work with their customers within the refuge from the point of crisis by safety planning and risk assessing using the DASH to ascertain the level of risk to the victim.
The post holder will be required to work alongside refuge staff to support customers with complex needs who have been referred into the refuge.
The post is restricted to females only due to the nature of the role. The occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (Part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies.
You will be part of a rota and some evening and weekend work may be required.

Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, organised, and energised individual to join our team as the Executive Assistant to the Executive Director. Summary of Role
Working under the direction of our Centre Managers at Arc in the Park and Abbey Hub, Youth Workers are key to ensuring the successful delivery of our provision for young people. The role will include the delivery of specific youth work projects and programmes delivered in accordance with the policies and procedures of AAA, helping young people to develop personally, socially and educationally. The role will include providing support to vulnerable and at-risk service users.
Responsibilities
·Providing for the social, personal, educational and leisure needs of young people by assisting in the running, organisation and delivery of AAA youth projects, including building-based and detached street work projects
·Establishing positive relationships with all young people supporting and enabling them to increase their confidence and realise their potential, fully integrating them into all project activities.
·Coordinating resources and developing opportunities and activities for young people which reflects their particular needs and circumstances.
·Facilitating the active involvement of the young people in the planning and development of the project programme.
·Facilitating the positive integration of young people with disabilities, behavioural difficulties and/or special needs within the project.
·Mentoring young people by supporting positive behaviours, delivering life-skills sessions and workshops.

THE ROLE
The Lead Policy Advocate – Planning will focus on influencing and shaping planning policies to protect woods and trees from development and promote biodiversity and public access. They will lead efforts to develop and implement evidence-based policies and influence strategies, coordinating with colleagues and partners to align these policies with the latest conservation research.
The role involves collaboration with stakeholders across the UK to ensure widespread understanding and support.
This is a hybrid working role, where you’ll work part of your time at home and part of the time working from one of our regional offices, with regular UK travel. Our Hybrid Working Policy is flexible, and the frequency of time spent in your contracted office will vary across teams and job roles.
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate has a proven background in policy advocacy, particularly in areas relevant to environmental and conservation goals. You will be a skilled communicator and negotiator, adept at engaging diverse audiences and stakeholders, with robust project management skills, and the ability to adapt to changes and seize opportunities.
The role demands effective leadership to drive cross-organisational teams in executing dynamic strategies and a vision to integrate planning policy with broader environmental and conservation objectives.
Applicants should demonstrate an understanding of UK devolution's impact on policy, and the importance of public campaigns in policy advocacy. Familiarity with UK, EU, and global institutions related to environmental policy and expertise in planning policy, supported by an RTPI, CIEEM qualification, or equivalent experience, is required.

The Outreach/Development Worker is accountable to the Centre Manager for:

3. Liaising and developing appropriate partnerships with community groups and other relevant organisations for referrals and signposting.
This role will require excellent communication skills, experience of giving advice and guidance, signposting vulnerable adults to access services and experience of working with diverse communities
